Constant sync wheel in the middle of the screen, otherwise ok only been using it for a few hours and wary of committing my whole trip at the moment

Update 16 August 2021:
Esplorio was a great App, but has not been updated for a year. In addition, there is no support via the Help section of the App, and no response to emails. As a consequence, I have sadly cancelled my Pro subscription, and updated this review. I suspect Esplorio is another casualty of Covid-19. 

Researched various options and decided to go with Esplorio and haven’t been disappointed. Excellent support and regular updates adding useful new features and fixing bugs. I have just returned from a 50 day trip through New Zealand and had Esplorio running 24/7. Recorded an accurate GPS track with no significant battery drain. Quick to add photos and content with simple and easy to use editing tools. Really well thought out app which should only get better. I kept my trip private while traveling (shared only with family and friends) and made it public after returning home.

I love this app just wish we could  share videos and download and share pic from other sources. That would make it a five star app in my opinion.

Not sure what happened, used to have fantastic customer service and now can’t get anyone to respond.  Was going to purchase the pro but not sure it’s worth it if I can’t get the app to connect with others, even when they’re turned on. Shame I really liked this app.

I used Esplorio to journal a month long trip.  When I had a question I got a “short answer” with a promise for a more complete answer later, then nothing.  Now I get no response and I cannot edit my trip.  I decided to settle with what I have and print a book and that’s proving to be impossible now too.

The idea is great and it almost works. It logs journeys but not all of them which I find frustrating. It can take days to update and in the meantime misses journeys. If it worked as it should I would have paid to upgrade.

After setting up my account I started receiving a lot of emails. This is not uncommon however theirs specifically asked for a reply with any questions. That is also fine however they never responded to any of my questions. I would have rated them higher if they responded.

A wonderful app with a great layout and functionality! Also very user friendly. Really enjoy using it, I especially like the GPS tracking being displayed on the map and being able to add photos with the location automatically marked. Very close to giving 5 stars, but a few improvements to the app would be much appreciated. Keep up the good work!

- been having some trouble syncing. I’ve been connected to wifi a number of times over the duration of my trip, but it has not automatically synced when connected to wifi and this has caused a backlog and I think this is slowing the app down. 
- if one caption could be added to multiple photos in a similar style to instagram that would be great. I would prefer to group photos permanently together in this format rather than have the “expand collage” function. 
- when reviewing photos, after the photos from a day have been added, it would be great if the top bar showing ‘done’ could appear after a short scroll without having to scroll all the way to the top. This would be helpful for long trips. 
- sometimes too many irrelevant places are added to a trip automatically; but it 
is obviously difficult to balance locations I want versus locations I find irrelevant.

This app has come a long way in one year and having directly liaised with the developers I know how passionate they are about making this app even better! Esplorio makes remembering your trips so easy by tracking where you’ve been automatically, adding photos and posts is automatic also, the only thing you have to do is write your thoughts. Especially good for road trips!

Loved this app so much I paid $49.95 for annual subscription for Pro version. And now doesn’t work and get no response despite multiple attempts from customer service. (My former 5 Star review:  used to be: Terrific Travel Diary App with Delightful Stats Summary 
Very impressed with import from TripIt! Terrific summary of miles, countries and delightful graphical representations. And with the syncing of map to photos. Only done a few trips from history and one from future to try out. Impressed! Terrific communication and response to question.)

The developers of this app seem to have disappeared. Was a good app, but no support or development for a year. Wish I didn’t have to dump this app but it looks like I have no choice .

**Developer response:** Hey foodie4, really sorry to hear about your trouble here :( We're just about to release 4.1.1 which allows you to re-add deleted photos which we built mostly in response to your feedback. We'd love if you'd give it a whirl in a few days when released. We're also working on an entirely new collaging system which should stop any unexpected movement of photos. Really sorry for the trouble again, hope you give it another go!

I have tried on numerous occasions to print my first photo book & pay nearly £40!  Every time I try it fails. I wanted this book as a surprise for my husband for Christmas. I went in to the online help and tried to get someone to help me but no one has ever responded.  I therefore rate this app as terrible. A waste of space on my phone.

Unless you buy their $80+ Pro version you are now limited in photos per trip and photos per account. That means I am now locked out unless I pay their ransom. Even prior to going Pro, there were problems with the App that still have not been addressed. I don’t trust Esplorio.
I received an email from the developer that tells me nothing I already don’t know. Unfortunately I have not seen my review posted in the App Store yet.

**Developer response:** Hi! Sorry you had some troubles! All your photos from before pro are still there and accessible. You can still add unlimited trips in the past which will include any photos you’ve uploaded. We’ve only added limits on new content to help with costs. Please drop us a line and we can see what’s up. Sorry for any misunderstanding!

Struggling to see the point of this app. You can’t select which photos to add to a trip, you have to add them all then delete the ones you don’t want. Previewing a suggested trip still doesn’t let you select which photos to add. Tutorials are hilarious, each title just goes to a splash page that doesn’t teach you anything. Might as well just use the native Apple photo album.

**Developer response:** Hello. Sorry to hear you had some trouble. You can select which photos you'd like to add using the Review photos button on the trip's timeline or using the ... button at the top right. This allows you to select each photo (including 3D Touch), or using batches for each day. It also allows you to select sources (e.g. Facebook) as well as folders on your phone. 

There's also a help centre which has a load of more in depth articles on different parts of Esplorio (just below the Tutorials button).

Terrible app. From the get go it invades your privacy by deciding fir you who you should follow because “they are great travelers”. According to who they are travelers? Have they won medals? Awards? The Nobel Prize for Traveling?

Of course you’re free to ignore and follow or not follow whoever you like :-)

I have used this app for several years and it has been a great way to record and share trips...However the developers have obviously walked away and left it to gradually die. It is becoming more buggy, and the support is non-existent. I would advise anyone to try the free version, but don't upgrade, I did, and it gives nothing extra. It is one thing to have a buggy app that is free, another to pay a big price for an app that the developer can't be bothered with anymore.

Looks like this app is no longer developed. But they happily continue to take your subscription fees! No response on Twitter. Integrations don’t work. Sad to see a truly wonderful app fall apart.

The app is good but at the same time, I’ve been having all sort of problems connecting services such as Tripit and synchronization with photos on my iPhone. Trying to get any support is just the worst. Terrible support to say the least

This was by far the best app ever!!!! Auto track your trips, add past trips by date and whoosh your trip is created with your photos and an impressive map. Sad to see them leave after all these years, but covid stopped everyone from traveling and they became one of the many companies that were crippled. I hope some day that you come back. In the meantime the app and my trips are still in my file with a “here’s hoping”

On a 2024 Crystal Serenity World Cruise.

WIFI on board is excellent.

Like how I can exclude photos that are not relevant to the cruise.

Nice how the app tracks them by date and geo tags the location and places on a map where each photo was taken.

After several years of using it I still love it!! I log all my trips to share with family and friends. It’s also a great way fir them to know we are moving along and where we’ve been in case something happens. I just wish they give the option to add short videos as well. Maybe one day but still love it!!

The improvements just keep making this a more indispensable travel and diary app.  The ability to auto track one’s daily travel route and add notes is terrific.  I especially love the map tracking feature and the marker that shows where photos were taken.

I first started using Tripcast as a travel journal, but I switched to Esplorio because I enjoyed the mapping a lot more.
Don’t get me wrong, I think Tripcast is a good app, it’s just that I prefer Esplorio.
I have been using Esplorio for 2 years now and the new version takes it to another level! Easy to use and great support when you need it, what more could you want. Definitely worth 6 stars after the upgrade!

I was looking for an app to track my family’s first big trip around Europe in our new VW camper van. After doing some research I chose Esplorio and it was fantastic.

The fact that it just tracks you automatically and makes it so easy to include photos and notes is great.

Unfortunately on the trip my phone broke and I lost 1,000+ photos, including everything from our 5 week trip!! 

I had over 400 photos on Esplorio so I emailed Them thinking they wouldn’t be able to help, but they responded really quickly and sorted out a download of the photos for me. Excellent service! 

You must get this app!!!

I am off next month for a short holiday to Rome, so have been looking around for the best way to document it. After looking at various apps, this seemed to be the best one, so I downloaded it and have to say that so far it has been tremendous.

I love using Esplorio so that way I can keep a travel journal about all the places that I’ve been here in the USA and I really love traveling during the summer and I would strongly recommend this app to anyone who likes to travel during the summer and keep a travel journal.
