## What is Essex Walks?

The Essex Walks app is a wonderful walking guide app with simple to use GPS-enabled digital routes around our beautiful county. It covers over 250 amazing walks of between 1 and 14 miles throughout Essex and the surrounding areas. 

The walks on the app include diverse woodland adventures, peaceful riverside strolls, coastal walks full of nature and beaches, open countryside rambles and fun in the city parks.

Detailed maps that track your progress are available offline - no internet signal required. The maps include contour detail that helps you to evaluate the difficulty of the walk before you set off.

Filter the Essex Walks by woodland, waterside, hill walk and pub walk to easily find the walk that's perfect for your mood.

After each walk, you can fill in the quick questionnaire in the app to feed back valuable information about the walk. We will then use this data to improve the app's walks over time and some of your comments could be published against each walk.

Such a shame this is subscription only, the walks don’t change much & plenty are available for free. I like this but £15 a year seriously? Why not charge a fair fee to own it. If you doubt subs fail… Data shows higher churn in creative apps : users overload on payments for dormant plugins, lose access on cancel (no equity after years), and resent “renting” without proportional updates. People stick to perpetuals for reliable workflows—Skip this; vote with your wallet.

This is a good app with clear mapping the GPS follows. The only downside is that the walks are mainly short less than 4 miles, so ok for strolls but not great for hikers.
