## What is Ethos Aether?

Ethos is a different kind of social space, built on presence rather than performance.

Ethos shows you thoughts shared by people in the space immediately around you. Open the app and you'll find a quiet field of thoughts drifting nearby, things people felt moved to put into the world, close to where you are, right now. Share one of your own, and it appears for others nearby.

Nothing here is meant to last. Thoughts drift for a while and then fade on their own. There are no permanent profiles, no archives to scroll back through, no record building up over time. What's here is what's near, now.

There are no follower counts, no likes, and no algorithmic feed deciding what you see. Nothing to chase, and no audience to perform for. Connection forms slowly and quietly, through presence rather than popularity. It's a space to think out loud in the open, close to home, without the pressure of everything that usually comes with being online.

Ethos doesn't sell your data, doesn't show ads, and doesn't try to keep you hooked. It asks for your location so it can show you what's nearby, and little else. You stay in control of your permissions and notifications, and you can delete your account and everything tied to it whenever you choose.

Ethos is early and still growing. If you're looking for a calmer, more present way to share, one rooted in where you actually are, step into the field and see what's drifting nearby.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-09-02

more room to be heard.

- the composer opens wider now — write a thought across several lines and watch it take shape before you release it
- replying feels lighter: the ripple field grows with your words, and the thought you're answering stays in view while you type
- a thought and its ripples now read as one flowing thread
- when you resonate with someone, their card now offers "whisper to them" — one tap and you're already whispering
- a quiet counter appears only when you near the edge of a thought's length
- small touches throughout: clearer guidance when choosing your name, and a calmer create-account screen

### 1.0 — 2026-08-27
