The pending balance is also an amount that I don’t understand. These inaccuracies have made it harder to know what balances and purchasing power I actually have. Too many screens, the way you select the date and strike on a different screen is pretty annoying. Why dont you just display a chain?? Thats the best way to view options. Takes way too long to scalp or make lots of trades. The scroll to find your limit price is absolute trash!! Cost me a lot of money today fumbling through orders. There needs to be a quicker way to place these trades somehow for me to want to stay. Why do they have a 4 step flow for buying an option while Robinhood does it in 1? Also what’s the point of not displaying my current balance or the current stock price while buying an option? I have to go back to the stock screen, see the stock price and then go through the 4 step option buying for every time I want to check the stock price. This necessarily requires a second screen to trade. Awful! ### 1/5 — Not what they sell *2021-03-01, version 2.21.5* The app is not very intuitive, but I thought it would be a better trade off for getting better prices than Robinhood however I did a same trade same time same everything and Gatsby came back $.50 less than Robinhood x that by a few options and the only thing I like is the name. ### 1/5 — US Only *2020-11-06, version 2.14.6* Developers fail to mention that you cannot trade option unless you have SSN and US telephone number. ### 1/5 — Worse than awful *2020-03-25, version 2.8.1* Anyone says this is good is probably working for Gatsby. Customer service was very nice but couldn’t accomplish anything, always new excuses, always new “requirements”, now I’m worried because they have all my info, I’ve requested they delete it but i don’t know if they actually did. Use literally any other platform, this is truly awful. ### 1/5 — Horrific Fills on Options. BEWARE *2020-03-11, version 2.7.7* I decided to try out this platform (I use Tasty as well as others) and made a purchase on an option. I bought the same option at the nearly the exact same time on both platforms so I could see if they were decent enough to possibly switch over... The Bid/Ask was about 7-8% wide so I sent a market order in on both. Gatsby gave a fill 105% over the ASK price while Tasty gave the exact ASK price. So I had to overpay on Gatsby by nearly 95%.... They used the excuse it was “fast moving” but that is a complete lie. Very unacceptable! Definitely beware and be cautious! There are clearly much better platforms where the company has the buyers interest first and foremost. As of right now this company does not! ### 1/5 — Cannot sign up *2019-02-21, version 1.982* Although the app appears on the UK AppStore, it is not possible to use a phone number that isn’t a US number and therefore not possible to signup. How unprofessional. ### 2/5 — Good app but be careful *2022-01-28, version 2.36.9* It’s a good app to trade options on but of course your not going to get the best fills at times. It also has a HUGE problem with it bugging out and not picking the correct contract You want to get into, for example today I wanted to enter a contract for next week expiration which I picked, but once I went to buy,it had changed the expiration on me to same day and made me lose some money just because the app bugged out and decided to pick a expiration I didn’t even choose **Developer response:** Hi, we are sorry that you're having issues with the app. Can you write to us at support@trygatsby.com? We'll be happy to look into this for you! ### 3/5 — Not great for fast order entry/execution *2022-12-12, version 4.0.1* There are way too many screens to scroll through to get to order entry. Ticker->Option Type->Expiration->Order type. Then if you choose limit order you have to use a scroll or tap mechanic to enter your execution price. Not ideal if the price you want is further away from current bid/ask, especially lower because it seems price choices are limited. By the time you finally get everything entered prices may have changed for better or worse. So far I’ve noticed folks are fairly slow as well. If these things aren’t a dealbreaker then this app is straight forward enough to use but otherwise I’d go with a different brokerage app ### 3/5 — Good for the basics *2022-03-24, version 3.0.5* After a week or so using. The app is definitely glitchy. When you click on a stock and view it’s price, the price is always glitched to where you can barley read it and the app does crash quite frequently when trying to navigate thru selections. A little hard to navigate as well but other than that, it’s solid.
