## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Works when it wants to!

*2014-10-26*

Just a couple of seconds and it won't register your voice! Waste of money! Don't buy it!

### 1/5 — Sad to say not helpful for the following reasons

*2012-03-25*

This tuner is fine when I hit a fixed tuned instrument note, like a piano or my vibraphone etc. but I don't need it for that! I bought it solely to help hone my intonation on my new (brazilian cherry,) etherwave plus theremin. Unfortunately, the app does not move in accordance with my out of pathetic intonation problems accurately enough to provide useful feedback about my playing. Instead it jumps all around instead of smoothly tracking the inconsistencies in my playing. Because of the distraction, I noticed that if anything, when looking it my accuracy got worse, not better. It just doesn't provide the fine tuned feedback I am looking for. My Korg tuner does a much better job, but unfortunately, the readout is way too small to use for this purpose. Guess I'll just trust my ears instead for now.

### 1/5 — Almost better than nothing

*2010-11-16*

This app needs a lot more work before it's useable. I had great fun watching it 'guess the note' with an electronic piano. Over the course of half an hour, it somehow managed to come up with several different answers for the same note - when it gave a response. Half the time it refrained from guessing at all.

Useful for the completely tone-deaf who want to get into the ballpark, not much use for accurate tuning on a real instrument.

### 1/5 — SUCKS

*2010-10-05*

It registers the wrong key all the time. Otherwise it'd be cool.
But it's not
Don't get suckered and by this app

### 2/5 — iOS 7

*2013-10-09*

Dissatisfied the tuner does not work on iOS 7 before the upgrade I loved the performance of the tuner but now it doesn't even do anything considering I actually payed for this app I am very dissatisfied

### 2/5 — Toy

*2011-02-28*

It is accurate when playing a piano tone but for voice it jumps around from sharp to flat. This app will not help refine your sense of pitch.

### 2/5 — What

*2011-01-11*

I am playing f on my trombone and it says it is an E3 or something and is f on the trombone f minor f major or f sharp major

### 2/5 — not very precise

*2010-04-15*

I sing a steady tone, and it fluctuates very easily. Not really useful for tuning, but it tells you what note you're playing approximately.

### 2/5 — Not easily compatible with Touch

*2009-03-23*

In order for this application to work with the 2nd generation Touch you must have the earphones with attached mic. A normal mic will not work either. So unless you want to spend the money for the upgraded earphones, this will not work with the Touch.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2024-11-17*

This is an ideal tuner. It's display is simple and it works with an instrument in any key with A at any pitch.

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — perfect for a quick tune

*2017-01-22*

I've used this app for years with an acoustic guitar and appreciate its' functionality. I reads quick, shows tuning clearly and does not mind that I don't use standard tuning. I still try others for comparison, but this is the one I hold onto.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2013-12-03*

Amazing app great value for the price!!! Totally recommend if you can't tune and have an instrument that needs tuning!!!

### 5/5 — Awesome yay

*2012-11-27*

What I was lookin for

### 5/5 — I never practice with my clarinet without having eTuner open on my iPad

*2011-04-26*

Just love this app. What a bargain. KORG sells for $29 and this does Bb.

### 5/5 — Best Ever!

*2010-08-14*

This is the best tuner I have used

### 5/5 — Great App

*2010-08-14*

Works really well over all. No real complaints

### 5/5 — Minimalist, accurate, & responsive

*2009-05-02*

Nearly perfect. It's fast, no-frills, and utilitarian. There is an option to disable screen dimming, but it's a little wonky to access.

### 5/5 — I LOVE THIS AP!!!

*2008-12-06*

As a singer and voice teacher, having a focused, centered pitch is vital. This ap shows your pitch almost the moment you sing it and by showing if you are centered, sharp or flat, quickly trains you to maintain perfect pitch, improve intonation and breath control. I have been reccomending this ap to all the people I sing with and all my students!
