## What is Eureka Strength?

You walk into the gym and think: what do I actually lift today?

Eureka Strength answers that, every session, for adults over 60 who want to get
stronger without guessing — and without following programs written for
25-year-olds.

Built by someone who gets it.
The founder started strength training at 65. He walked into a gym, asked "lift
what?", and got more answers than there were machines. So he went to the research
and built this. Every feature exists because he needed it.

Never been to a gym?
Our First Visit Guide walks you through everything—what to wear, what to expect,
the unwritten rules nobody tells you. Your first visit, you don't even exercise.
You just look around. We go slow on purpose.

Returning after years away?
The app adapts to your experience level. Skip the beginner content and get
straight to training with smart defaults based on your history.

What makes Eureka Strength different:

• Know What to Lift Today — Track soreness on a body map, and the app tells you
which workout you're actually recovered for. No more wondering whether it's too
soon for legs.

• Weights Based on Your History — Suggestions come from what you actually lifted
last time, adjusted for your rep target and counted per side on single-arm work.

• Built for Real Bodies — Plans for falls prevention, bone density, and limited
mobility. Tell the app about a joint replacement, balance concerns, or a
wheelchair, and it adjusts what it suggests.

• First Visit Guide — A 4-stage system that takes you from "never set foot in a
gym" to training with confidence. Checklists, facility finders, etiquette
primers—all personalized to you.

• Evidence-Based — Every recommendation cites peer-reviewed research from ACSM,
CDC, WHO, and major journals. Tap any research badge to read the actual study. No
black boxes. No "trust me."

• Smart Exercise Ordering — Compound movements first, stale exercises prioritized.
You'll learn why this order matters—and see the research behind it.

• Share With Family — Optional. Let an adult child or partner see that you're
showing up, and nothing beyond what you choose to share.

• Progress Tracking — Strength gains in clear graphs, with estimated 1RM.

• Apple Health Integration — Workouts sync automatically with accurate duration
tracking.

### 5/5 — Great help

*2026-08-31*

I am 62 and just began working on strength training this year. I really like tracking my workouts and this app makes it easy. I can switch and add exercises as I need to. It’s so helpful to look back and see what I’ve done and what I need next. Great app!

### 5/5 — First rate

*2026-05-06*

I’ve tried several gym tools and found Eureka Strength best by far. It fits naturally into my gym routine with easy tracking of reps, sets, and rests. Adapts easily, allowing me to fix typos, change exercise names, and quickly add new gym equipment or match the equipment name used at my gym. The tips, explanations, and literature references provide a solid foundation for learning.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.18 — 2026-08-31

Fixes for things that were going wrong quietly, plus a little
celebration when you finish.

- Finish a workout with every set done and you'll get a proper
  send-off.
- Editing a set from the finish screen now always updates the
exercise you actually edited. In some workouts the change could
land on a different exercise without saying so.
- A set you complete is saved the instant you tap, so nothing is
lost if the app is interrupted right afterward.
- New Edit Profile in Preferences. Your name, experience, age
range, mobility and any special considerations were set once
when you first opened the app and couldn't be changed after --
now you can update them any time, and your exercise suggestions
  follow.
- Easier to read: better contrast on the workout plan list and on
  the Compound/Isolation labels.
- Better VoiceOver support for the add and delete set buttons,
the exercise notes field, and the workout notes section.

### 1.17 — 2026-08-24

What's New in 1.17

Smarter weight suggestions, and you'll see them a lot sooner.

- Weight suggestions now follow your reps-per-set setting. They used to
assume an 8-12 range no matter how you'd set things up, so if you train
at 5s or 15s the suggestion never quite matched how you actually lift.
- Suggestions now kick in after one previous workout instead of three.
You'll start seeing them in your first week rather than your third.
- Single-side exercises no longer tell you to go heavier after one set per
side. They now wait for two full sets on each side, the same as
  everything else.
- Bigger, easier tap targets on the favorite star, the rest-timer adjust
buttons, and the weight and reps steppers.
- VoiceOver now reads the rest countdown and the favorite button properly.
- Fixed an import problem where quotes or backslashes in a name or note
came back mangled. Your text now survives an export and re-import
  exactly as you wrote it.
- Getting back to your exercise list is quicker.

Plus the usual behind-the-scenes stability work.

### 1.16 — 2026-07-13

What's New in 1.16

This update is all about reliability and protecting your data.

- More reliable machine tag scanning, and your sets now get attributed to the correct machine.
- Restoring from a backup now keeps all your gym and machine details -- and your soreness check-ins stay linked to the workouts that caused them.
- Workouts you save from the "resume workout" prompt now sync to anyone monitoring you and follow your Apple Health setting.
- If Apple Health sync gets disconnected (for example, after reinstalling the app), we now remind you at the start of a workout so your sessions don't quietly stop syncing.
- Fixed importing plans and exercises whose names contain commas.
- Signing out on a shared device now fully clears your sharing and monitoring info.

Plus behind-the-scenes security and stability improvements.

### 1.15 — 2026-06-19

This update makes backups rock-solid and fixes a couple of import bugs.

  - Restoring from a backup now keeps all your custom workout plans. Before, multiple plans could collapse into one.
  - Your soreness history survives a restore. If you logged more than once on the same day, those entries are no longer dropped.
  - "Dumbbell Press" now imports as a dumbbell exercise instead of a machine.
  - Behind-the-scenes improvements to how subscriptions are handled across sign-in.

### 1.14 — 2026-06-18

1.14 is a behind-the-scenes refactor with no intended changes to behavior. The calculation and decision logic for a few areas was pulled into separate, tested components, so the only goal for this build is confirming nothing regressed. If you have a few minutes, please sanity-check that these still work exactly like 1.13:
- Starting-weight suggestions when you begin a set -- especially the bump after a 12+ rep set (+5 lb / +2.5 kg) and any cross-gym suggestions if you track multiple gyms
- Progress chart numbers (the estimated 1-rep-max trend lines)
- Auto-hiding of completed exercises, if you have that setting turned on
- The "people I monitor" activity wording (Today / Yesterday / N days ago)
Everything else is unchanged. Thanks!
