### 2/5 — Non-intuitive Graphics and no Manual

*2023-12-22*

Look at the photo of the “charging status” graphic. What do the different shades mean? One is adjustable, but what effect does adjusting it have? How many miles/kms/Kw “added” is a silly value, or maybe one for a second “view” but most ev owner want to know how much is charged, how much uncharged, and how long at the current charge rate until fully charged. The charging status graphic may indicate this, but in a non-intuitive, murkily understood, undocumented way.

I’ll likely get a different charger just to obtain an app with meaningful data, vs. unclear, alien symbology.

### 1/5 — You had one job.

*2023-10-05*

An EVSE is supposed to charge your car when it’s cheap. That’s it.

Our Juicebox used to do this. But now, it only occasionally does so. Often it fails. Again and again. For months.

It charges when it is 4x the price and doesnt charge when it’s 1x the price.

If fails comically. The main screen will literally say that it’s waiting until the 11 pm time of use period… while at the same time showing in green that it is charging right now.

You can power cycle the Juicebox and delete and re-establish the profile until you are blue in the face. It sometimes works for a few days but then fails all over again.

The net result is you can’t plug it in when you get home and trust it to do its thing. It’s liable to start charging early and cost you peak prices on electricity. You have to babysit it, setting alarms at night to plug it in and double check that it’s charging.

Enel X, which bought Juicebox years ago simply does not have its act together as its steward. They took an excellent product and made it fail at its one job.

And support? Friendly, slow and unhelpful. They just don’t fix the problem.

Find another EVSE.

### 1/5 — App is a complete failure

*2023-07-15*

The old app did not have any problems but this month I was forced to change to this new app and it’s a complete failure. I just spent an hour on the phone with customer service and they were unable to correct the issue. My information from the previous app could not be updated. We were able to progress all the way through to entering the pin but then at that point we got another error! After 55 minutes and multiple attempts the customer service (who was very nice and helpful) said she has no more options and would contact me via email with a solution.

This glitch has caused the box to fail to charge twice this week. It is suppose to charge in the evening but in the morning on multiple occasions we have a dead car (low battery) do to the failure of the Juicebox and no way to make it charge because I can’t log into the app.

I am beyond frustrated with the product (Juicebox) because it fails to charge my car and the app that is a complete failure!

### 5/5 — No issues, good info

*2023-06-20*

I was very apprehensive after reading the reviews, but I’ve found the app to be stable and interesting. I don’t use time-of-use charging so perhaps I haven’t encountered buggy features. For me wifi isn’t even needed - but interesting to see how much energy I’ve used for each charge session - and it does that well.

### 4/5 — Seems Okay For Now

*2023-06-19*

I got my Juicebox charger back in November 2022 but didn’t download the app because of the terrible reviews. I saw there was an update a few weeks ago and decided to try downloading it. I had to reset the charger once using the breaker in order for it to connect to my home Wi-Fi but it has worked just fine since then and stayed connected. I did have to change the setting so that it would use the proper amount of amps as it initially was charging slowly. I was able to set the schedule for charging and it has functioned properly so far. The app isn’t particularly flashy or anything but it works.

### 1/5 — It’s a dumb charger

*2023-02-22, version 2.28*

The charger only works if you don’t have to mess with the app. If you have it set so that you plug in and it charges then you’re all set. But if you want to mess with the settings so that it doesn’t charge during peak electricity prices or you want it to charge at a slower rate, then God be with you. There is no telling what it will do with those changes. I set it last night to only charge between 9 pm and 4 pm. The app itself says I have a 19 hour window for charging, but guess who can’t get to work this morning. The app apparently thinks that by limiting the time of charging I just mean that I never want to charge my car.

### 1/5 — Worse with each update?

*2023-02-06, version 2.28*

Now it won’t even let you login, just claims your password is incorrect even when it is not. Neat, hopefully the EVSE doesn’t fail due to the terrible web services.

### 3/5 — JuiceNet not new app

*2023-01-23, version 2.28*

Notified in mid-Jan 2023 that this app is to be retired in Feb 2023 & I MUST upgrade. I’m glad I waited & read dozens of complaints (no rating were above 1*). I’ll keep using my juicenet and see what happens next month. I’d like to thank all of the early users of Enel X Way app for their reports that saved me a similar grief. I rated this 3* because at least it works. I hope Enel gets their new app fixed. As far as I can tell I don’t need the app to charge my car. I just plug it in and the car’s computer tells it when and how much to charge.

### 5/5 — works fine

*2023-01-14, version 2.28*

After installing two smart chargers on the far side of my garage in a weak wifi area I found that internet connectivity was intermittent. This became a good reason to finally upgrade my home wireless network with one of the new mesh router systems. Now that my smart home has a reliable and strong wifi signal to all points on my property I find everything connected to my wireless system is more reliable. This includes the app functioning for my two juicebox 40 pro car chargers. After over two years of charging our two plugin hybrids I have no complaints at all concerning both the charger units and this app. I should add that I have put together an almost net zero energy system in my house with solar power and other bells and whistles. I am rather demanding of the interconnected equipment I use and I am satisfied with this app.

### 1/5 — Do not believe online reviews

*2023-01-02, version 2.28*

Online reviews tricked me into buying the charger. I’m hoping you read this review before purchasing.
The app is virtually non-functional. Their server is unavailable most days of the month and the app does not respond. I opted for this charger over others, since it was so highly rated online. Now I’m convinced the online reviews are simply paid advertisements because there is no way someone who actually uses it would vouch for it. Stay away until they fix their buggy app and server.
