### 3/5 — The “End Charging Session” Button is badly positioned!

*2026-07-07, version 1.1.9*

The “end charging session” is badly designed and positioned. It spans nearly the entire width of the screen directly above the iPhone’s home gesture area, making it far too easy to accidentally end a charging session while simply trying to swipe up and leave the app. A consequential action like this should have a confirmation prompt, be positioned farther from the home indicator, or at minimum not occupy almost the entire bottom edge of the screen. This is an easily preventable usability problem.

### 2/5 — Always broken

*2025-09-18, version 1.1.1*

The app is fine. Unfortunately it is connected to a network of chargers that are consistently out of service. I used to be a subscriber but canceled because it was too hard to find a charger that actually worked. Another undependable charging network. Dang.

### 2/5 — App needs lots of improvement

*2025-08-02, version 1.0.26*

The app is buggy and crashes frequently. When using the app to charge it periodically just stops, charging with no apparent reason. The pay-as-you-go is confusing. As far as the charging stations themselves go, the interface for them is very confusing. I’m an IT guy and I understand interfaces… This one could definitely be better.

### 3/5 — Great app, but crashes when scanning QR code

*2025-07-26, version 1.0.26*

I’ve been using the EVCS app and really like it overall. It was working great, but recently it started crashing every time I try to scan the charging station’s QR code using the in-app camera. I can still manually enter the station code, which works, but it’s less convenient. I’d give a higher rating if this bug gets fixed—I’d love to be able to use the app as intended.

### 3/5 — loging in

*2025-04-18, version 1.0.25*

This charging station was working out fabulous till one day it blocked me out. I try to reset the app when you get to the part that you enter your phone number it says your number already exist. I was really hoping this charging station would’ve worked out because it was right next-door to my residence. Now I have to go a few miles away. Very unfortunate.

### 1/5 — Subscription Only??

*2025-03-16, version 1.0.24*

So first of all this is one of those dumb networks where you have to download an app to even use the charger. Then to make things even dumber you have to pay a basic rate of $3.99 a month to even use the pay as you go rate. These chargers are always empty and now I can see why.

### 1/5 — Company steals from customers

*2025-02-04, version 1.0.24*

Over four months ago, I contacted your support team to let them know that the one and only charging station in Springfield Oregon was down and not working. I was told that this would be elevated to maintenance and that they would come out and fix it at the time had an unlimited charging package and used the charger daily. It is now four months later and the charging station still has not been repaired. I asked for a refund of my monthly fee because why would I want to have a monthly fee if I cannot use the station. I was told too bad. I am out of luck and that I could get $100 credit on my next month if I started back up the subscription. However, why would I want to start back up this subscription when the machine has literally never been fixed and I can’t use it so basically I am being told that you guys are willing to rip me off, but not willing to give me any kind of courtesy or respect. I have waited four months for this machine to come back up and it never has so therefore I am now telling you I want a refund of my money. I am tired of being taking advantage because I’m just one person

### 1/5 — Bad

*2025-01-17, version 1.0.22*

Dont use its bad

### 2/5 — Not reliable/ avoid if you can

*2025-01-04, version 1.0.19*

These chargers have only worked 60% of the time; I often have to go to different stations to find a working charger. Also, at first they wouldn’t charge my Chevy bolt if it was below 25% charge.

### 1/5 — Anyone home?

*2025-01-01, version 1.0.19*

The app is unusable. I have an account but when I log in it says I have to verify my phone number. When I try to do that, it says the phone number is already in use. Uh, yeah, because my account.
There is no link for help!
Also, many of the chargers are labeled CCScombo but have Tesla adapters stuck on Them. So you pull in thinking you can use the charger but SURPRISE, you cannot.

### 1/5 — Garbage App

*2024-12-04, version 1.0.18*

What a piece of crashing garbage. Can’t even scan the QR code. You’re the reason the car makers are switching to Tesla chargers.

### 1/5 — Blank map

*2024-09-19, version 1.0.14*

The map has never loaded. Its always shown the numbers over a white canvas

### 1/5 — High Mileage Premium Subscription isn’t worth price.

*2024-09-18, version 1.0.14*

If you’re new to EV charging, I don’t recommend their programs. It appears they changed their stance on “unlimited” program which was attractive. Their charging network is still spotty depending on your area within California. For similar cost, there are better alternatives or contribute equivalent cost to solar panels at home.

### 4/5 — Used to be better

*2024-09-01, version 1.0.13*

This charging system was by far the best option for high mileage drivers/those using fast chargers >5 days a week. They used to have their unlimited plan for $199 a month and unlimited off-peak(10pm-6am) for $99 a month. I charge fully 1-2 times a day 6 days a week. The off peak plan allowed me to literally make an extra $500 per month driving 50 hours a week for Uber due to the cost breakdown to $25 PER WEEK for UNLIMITED CHARGING! I know more than a dozen people that now are spending an extra $500 a month on the next cheapest option for high mileage drivers. Was great while it lasted. Please bring back something similar to this!

### 1/5 — Pre-Authorization hold issues

*2024-08-29, version 1.0.13*

Tried first time and only time it will be.
Seems charged on and speed was acceptable. Shady neighborhood.
Finished and my cost came $14.50. Fine.
Friday Afternoon I check my mobile bank app and I saw 8 $30 hold!! 8!! 3 of them got credited back same day but other 5 did not come back after the weekend. Called customer service and he claim that usual hold is $50. Well thank the lord!! Im so glad 8 $50 was not hold.
I just got random pre written letter from supervisor. Only way to avoid pre-hold is pick one of their plan. I don’t need it cause I am renting EV. Still 8?? One I can understand but 8?? Horrible company.

### 1/5 — Misleading Free Trial - Charged Early

*2024-08-06, version 1.0.11*

I signed up for a free 7-day trial, but on the 4th day, I noticed the app still indicated I had 7 days left. Despite this, I was charged on the 7th day, three days before the trial period was actually up. This is deceptive and feels predatory. I reached out to customer support, but received no satisfactory explanation or resolution. I feel misled and disappointed. If you’re considering this app, be wary of the free trial terms and be prepared for unexpected charges. This practice is unacceptable, and I hope the developers address this issue promptly to prevent others from experiencing the same problem.

### 1/5 — Scam—connection kept timing out

*2024-07-22, version 1.0.11*

I was able to get maybe 12% of charge over the course of 1 + hours and nearly 7 attempts to get the charge to work. When it did work, it would abruptly end session without reason.

I called for support 3 times. They couldn’t help me. Now my credit card has a handful of $50 “temporary holds”. My gut tells me to monitor these amounts like a hawk and make sure it is returned to me… it feels very sketchy that they would make a charge for each attempt without successfully connecting and actually charging my car…

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2024-07-20, version 1.0.11*

The app has lots of bugs. One big bug is that on smaller phones, Register and Forgot Password links overlap, and thus you cannot reset your password. In order to reset your password, you either have to borrow a friend’s larger phone or call support and have them send you the reset link via email. They refuse to fix the app. They just don’t care. Second big bug is app randomly logs you out when using the app, and you cannot log in again, giving you the invalid credentials error. Only solution is to reset password, which can only be done in the app. Why you can’t do it online on a PC or a mobile browser is beyond me. They just don’t care.

As for charging, in Los Angeles they have the best monthly unlimited plans, but… chargers are all 50 kW max,so expect to charge in 60 to 80 minutes. Chargers are also offline often. Chargers also in extremely bad neighborhoods like Wilmington and South Central. There is a huge gap between South Cental and Anaheim where there are no chargers. So few chargers. I suffer because working rideshare I need to save every penny. Only use this charging network if you are desperate.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — They are incredibly greedy

*2026-07-31, version 1.1.9*

They are incredibly greedy; did you know that their cost for slow Level 2 charging is 49 cents—which is more expensive than Tesla Supercharging?

### 1/5 — Terrible quality, no maintenance team

*2026-06-21, version 1.1.8*

The plug is severely broken… its unlock button is damaged and they have no maintenance guy… don’t know how to get out…

### 1/5 — Lots of bugs

*2026-05-03, version 1.1.6*

Apple Pay, despite it being available in the app, doesnt work at all, with any card. Apple sends back a failure message.
Then after you have finished charging, you get a notification at the top of your screen, over an hour later that your charging session is still running. Serious lack of testing before release.

### 1/5 — Wrongfully charged

*2026-05-01, version 1.1.6*

My subscription start from April 1st to May 1st . I charged my car around 11:20 pm on April 30th and end my session at 12:00am on May 1st.
Guess what? They charge my account when it supposed to be free.
They said if my session ended at April 30 at 11:59 pm, then it’s free. But if my session ended on May 1st at 12:00am, I still have to pay for it.

The problem is my plan start from 12:00 am April 1st and End May 1st at 12:00am

I ended my session on May 1st at 12:00am and get charged to my account.

lol

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-01-16, version 1.1.2*

The app was not able to talk to Apple Pay. On top of that, the chargers themselves were very slow once I eventually got it working.

### 1/5 — NEVER WORKS

*2025-12-03, version 1.1.2*

Don’t even bother using these chargers or downloading the app – they literally never work!

### 1/5 — Unreliable/Slow Charging

*2025-09-22, version 1.1.1*

There are no fast chargers, the few machines which are considered fast in KWh are actually slowed down , not worth the subscription for $50 for the hassle and inconvenience of use. Most terminals max out at 80%

### 1/5 — No strict rules!

*2025-09-10, version 1.1.1*

They can’t manage the issue of non-EVs parking at EV chargers, so they should focus on stricter implementation, like partnering with local businesses such as LA Fitness in Foothill Pasadena.

### 1/5 — Multiple money charge holds

*2025-05-26, version 1.0.26*

I use their charging stations frequently and don’t have a high enough membership plan it seems, they started to charge a double hold rate of $60 pending per charge. They continue to hold while adding on new holds when charging again and say each pending hold lasts up to 10 days. I have eight holds from only one charging session that actually worked.

### 1/5 — Unreasonable Pricing & Predatory Plans

*2025-04-11, version 1.0.25*

The pricing structure of EVCS plans is shockingly bad unless you charge constantly or have no other options. For example, the “Essential” plan gives you 30 kWh/month (barely one charge) for $9.99 — a savings of maybe $5 if you use every drop, meaning you’re still losing money unless you charge more than once a month. The $199.99 plan? You STILL pay for charging — it just lowers the rate a bit — but they expect you to front $200 a month regardless of usage. This is pricing designed to exploit EV drivers in areas where EVCS has a monopoly. The public deserves better

On top of that, their charging cables are ridiculously short, making it dangerous or impossible to charge in tight spaces — especially for cars with rear ports. You sometimes have to park crooked or even take up two spots just to make it work. It’s a poorly thought-out system in every way.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great value

*2025-03-22, version 1.0.24*

I live in SoCal nearby one of their charging station. It works all the time. Charging is slow but for the price, it’s worth.

### 5/5 — Affordable, Reliable option for West Coast Drivers

*2024-11-14, version 1.0.18*

I recently purchased my first EV. The first weeks of charging had a lot of failed charging attempts with various chargers. Happily, I found some nearby EVCS chargers, downloaded the app, chose a good plan for my situation and haven’t looked back. I am very happy with the subscription plan. It is by far the most cost effective. I have only had one issue with a charger that was out of order. They have very good coverage on the West Coast. Give it a try.

### 5/5 — NEW AND IMPROVED!

*2023-10-07, version 1.0.3*

The new app is way smoother than the previous one! Response time and sensitivity ✅ enhanced search options ✅ user friendly and easy interface ✅ and their new subscription options are a godsend for Ride Share drivers 🙏🏽

### 5/5 — Easy to use !

*2023-10-06*

Wow ! User friendly and great interface! It is easy to start, stop and manage my charging sessions. Amazing customer service and product support when needed. It shows all the available chargers in my area and current status, no more waiting in lines like Tesla !!

### 5/5 — YES!!

*2023-10-06, version 1.0.3*

Just what you need to locate available charger. Accurate and easy to use! Takes about 1 minute to find what I need. What else could you ask for?

### 5/5 — Nice app!

*2023-10-06, version 1.0.3*

Very helpful function which allows you to find charging locations with a zip code. It makes creating routes very convenient.

### 5/5 — top tier charging experience

*2023-10-05, version 1.0.3*

A+
Definitely adding the app to my front page.
It’s been a better experience from other apps I’ve used. I’m glad they have stations near my area.
A+team
A+ App
A+ Chargers

### 5/5 — I love seeing an image of the site before I arrive

*2023-10-05*

Great new look and feel to the app! I especially like that there is a pic of the chargers/site so that I have an idea of the area before I actually arrive to the site. I really like the new high tech looking DCFC at one of the newest site locations in Fairfield!
