It was fun at launch, but now most things are unobtainable without real money. I don’t want to pay to unlock content. If they’d reduce the monetization, I’d probably play it more. Bummer. ### 4/5 — It’s exactly as advertised *2026-07-15, version 1.9.194* This is EVE Online-lite. Just like EO, it is complex, it is unforgiving, it is a time sink. Do not expect to pick up and play this casually, and do not expect to be able to compete against other players or reach end game content in less than a year. Unlike EVE, they do soften a lot of the blows. There are far more protections and mistakes are not punished nearly as severely. There is also far less depth, though still more than your average game. There’s not even a quarter of the ships, components, and functions of EO, but that’s just fine as it is a mobile game, and should be expected to be at least somewhat more casual. The good: It is a fun RGP space sim with more depth and complexity than any other game I’ve played on mobile. It of a decent tuning of EO to a more casual mobile game while still maintaining a relatively “hard core” aspect and requiring a grasp of the strategies and mechanics to succeed past the initial game stage. The bad: a niche player base which has too little incentive to compete or branch out has somewhat stagnated the game. Basically you will have two options to make decent money - corporate manufacturing or corporate ratting in special anomalies. Trying to do anything else, especially freelancing, will have you spinning your wheels and you won’t be seeing top tier ships for years. While EE tries to combat them, bot farms exasperate this problem. The ugly: EE still needs to make money, and with premium time able to be paid for with ISK (in game currency), they have turned to microtransactions and there are certain things that are locked behind those micro transactions UNLESS another player buys them and sells them on the market (Shanghai Carrier). The most frustrating is nano cores, with many of the best cores, and materials for upgrading those cores, being untradable, so players who want them must buy them. The eve echoes economy is basically broken, there is no point mining or manufacturing unless it’s for yourself. Everyone runs capitals to rat or PvP. If you don’t have a capital you are left out. The only way to get a capital is to spend $1000+ to inject your character with skills and buy a ship. Avoiding a portion of the game due to how busy seems to be a failure on the devs to understand server needs. Jita is a main hub for trading and you can’t access it due to how busy it is. You agree to these ToS every time you login. However Netease unevenly enforces this rule. NetEase has put way too many strict limitations on non-paying users. If you don't spend a massive amount of real money, you are blocked by endless restrictions at every turn, making it feel like a chore rather than a game. On top of the heavy paywall, the overall user experience is ruined by a bunch of terrible and clunky operations within the game system. The mechanics feel poorly optimized, and it’s clear that the developers only care about milking paying customers instead of maintaining a balanced and smooth environment for the general player base. As someone who has had plaid eve online for pc and has for over 20 years… I can recommend this game from the perspective of knowing the company is solid. If something can be added or improved it will be. Overall I think this game is obviously not as cool as regular eve online, but if you’re into mobile games then I would definitely at least give it a try!! The graphics as in regular eve are beautiful. Now: the key is, this game is complex! Hard ! You will die a lot, and it’s risky, and most important you need patience! Also if the regular eve online over 20 years has taught us anything… if you want to enjoy this game you will need to be open to change, change in the game mechanics, Ships and other factors. Eve is all about adapting to new player tactics and the developers constant effort to expand, balance and improve the game. As for many of the 1 star reviews, this game is not for stupid people… sorry, but you’re going to have to think… ### 5/5 — Games *2026-05-21, version 1.9.190* Constant Crashing. I paid for AUR and Omega. But I come back to the game with a new character and game keeps crashing a lot. I have a iPad 9th Gen and I hear that this is an Apple iOS issue. Ever since the glossy clear update for iPad and iPhones this game has been crashing a lot. Before that update Eve never crashed on iPad 9th Gen. So, for this uninstalled the game and have officially quit Eve for good. I really loved this game but this crashing while flying is done for. The ship variety, fittings, economy, and PvP depth are legit. When you win, it feels earned. When you lose, it hurts — and that’s part of what makes it real. But low-sec and PvP can be brutal. You can lose a fully fitted ship in seconds if you’re not prepared. There’s no hand-holding. If you undock, you accept the risk. It’s not casual. It’s strategic, punishing, and rewarding.
