### 5/5 — Exactly what I was looking for

*2022-10-30, version 3.5.0*

I spent a lot of time searching the App Store just now. I wanted something that would track both positivity and energy in real time. Straight forward, easy to use, without having to sign up for a subscription, and nice aesthetics. Just downloaded it, but it has checked all those boxes, excited to start using it

### 5/5 — i love this app so much

*2022-07-11*

exactly the kind of mood tracker app i’ve been looking for. with other apps i have trouble choosing one overall mood for each day because of my mood swings. with this app, i love the fact that you can check in multiple times a day and that it shows you a graph of your mood and energy changes. the app is also very aesthetically pleasing to me, i love the toned down colors on the slider, i love how the app is organized in a minimalistic kind of way. i don’t know, but everything about this app is just so pleasing to me i’m so glad i found it.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much, this review made my day :).

### 4/5 — Simple and Useful

*2022-04-27*

This app has all of the features that I am looking for while remaining simple and minimal.

My only complaint is the monthly subscription option. I wish there was a way to pay like $100 or something for lifetime access.

**Developer response:** Thanks, Matt! Simple and minimal is exactly the goal. Even Mind Plus now has an annual plan, which costs less per month than monthly, and the core app is still free. -Chris

### 5/5 — Helpful and Simple!

*2022-01-31*

This app was exactly what I was looking for in a mood tracker. It’s easy to use and I love how you can leave notes for why you might be having a good/bad day.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review!

### 5/5 — Efficient and Effective

*2021-12-13*

I’ve been using this app for about a year now and it’s the only journal/mood app that’s has worked for me. i love the slider and the charts!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review! If you have any requests or feedback please email us at hello@evenmind.co

### 5/5 — Simple and easy to use

*2021-08-03*

I needed something to track both mood and energy, this is perfect. There might be a slight bug with the graph, otherwise all good.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review! If you have a minute, can you send more details on the bug you are experiencing to help@evenmind.co?

### 5/5 — Intuitive with tons of use cases

*2021-05-25*

Super intuitive and simple to use and I love the visualization of mood with beautiful colors. A simultaneous assessment of mood and energy takes just a few seconds and it’s a nice way to check in with yourself and track patterns over time. I wish I had this app back when I was a kid!

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review!

### 5/5 — Useful and Beautiful

*2020-10-20*

Even Mind is easy to use, customizable, and aesthetically pleasing. I especially love that it easily allows me to see patterns as Even Mind connects to Apple Health! Being able to see the correlation between my activity levels, sleep, and mood all in one place is a game-changer!

### 5/5 — seamless

Even has seamless tracking with a gorgeous interface to boot. This product has helped me immensely particularly during the stresses of covid & work from home. Highly recommend to anyone looking for insight on wellness & improving d2d cognitive function.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — 💰 cash grab

*2022-08-07*

Sure, pay *$60* a year if you like. Greed is good. The app is good. But the developers are making 💵 hand over fist. There’s not a lot to this app. What there is is good, but not $5/month good.

🤔 Update/response to dev:
At $60 per year (or $600 every decade), this app is in the highest tier of AppStore subscription process. For that amount of money, users should expect some amazing features. EvenMind is dead simple. Premium ($60) connects with Apple health analytics, which is automated, and not difficult to implement. There are no other premium features of significance.

I did not need clarification on your pricing, it is very apparent. The line about paying users supporting free users is a dodge. At scale, the cost to the dev per user is near-zero. The developers are making *astounding* profit from this app. Under "Values" on their support page they should include that they believe that greed is good. Of course there should be no law against a cash grab, but it deserves a calling out. Let's keep it 💯 real.

Here is exactly how to fairly price an app containing analytics from Apple Health: "AutoSleep". The dev of this highly-rated, elegant sleep-tracking app asks a small one-time charge (with no recurring subscription).

How the heck can they do this? No $60 per year!! An smazing lack of...greed.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the honest feedback, Yowzoe. A lot has changed since 2022. The PDF Doctor Report you can share with your clinician is now free, along with mood/energy tracking, sleep analysis, the full timeline, and data export. Even Mind Plus is optional and adds deeper analytics. I’m a solo developer, and I keep Even Mind free of ads and data selling. Your data stays on your device and in your iCloud. -Chris

### 1/5 — Theft

*2022-04-29, version 3.1.4*

Purchased the full version but did not get any features. This is not legal. This app is straight up fraud.

### 2/5 — i really loved this app but changes turned me away

*2023-01-05*

i have been using this app for several months. i found it was the only app that was simple but tracked my mood/energy, but allowing me a space to write about it. i loved it. i purchased the lifetime awhile back, way cheaper than what is being asked of users now. i really appreciated being able to buy it once and not stress about a subscription or miss out on features if i ever couldn’t afford to keep it. i’m at that point now, unfortunately.
not only did this new update change the pricing, making to where i’ll switch now — even if i wasn’t i lost all of my data with this update. all of my notes on how i felt and the data attached is gone. not sure where.
just really disappointed. this was a go-to, but really enjoyed what they did for awhile.
it’s a shame because i was excited for the UI changes not that there was really anything bad about the previous layout.

**Developer response:** Thank you for this, and I’m truly sorry about your data. Since this review, Even Mind backs up to your private iCloud and lets you export everything anytime, so your entries are safe. Core tracking, journaling, and the Doctor Report are all free, so money should never keep anyone from using it. If you’d like help, email me at chris@evenmind.app. I’d love to have you back. -Chris

### 2/5 — Requires a subscription now

*2022-03-30*

This app is effectively useless without a subscription now. I started using this app almost a year ago, and I understand that the developers need to monetize it in order to earn money. However, basic features such as viewing a timeline of logged moods is now locked behind a monthly subscription.

The interface is great, and it’s a really nice app, but I don’t want to pay monthly for basic features. I wouldn’t mind paying for a perpetual license, or an annual subscription even, but the current monthly rate is steep for what it does.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! Your full mood timeline is free in the Journal tab, along with mood/energy tracking and the Doctor Report. Even Mind Plus is optional and now comes with an annual plan, as you suggested. I hope you’ll give it another try. -Chris

### 3/5 — Great, but would want to log previous dates

*2023-07-26*

i know it’s in the values page that they dont allow logging previous dates since they want it to be honest and in the moment, but trying to switch from a previous mood app is such a pain and I would love to be able to import from csv or something just so i can migrate the information.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the kind words and for understanding the reasoning! Even Mind is built around in-the-moment check-ins, because memories of past moods are less accurate. That’s why I’ve chosen not to support backdated entries or imports. I know switching apps is a pain. If it helps, you can export all of your Even Mind data to CSV anytime, so your history is never locked in. -Chris

### 4/5 — Opinions

*2025-02-08*

My suggestion would be the extremes, a log for how the overall day was, a check off for meds (I always forget), and maybe a change to the charts because they get a little confusing. A check off for certain mental health symptoms, specifically psychotic features, would be cool too!

I do like the mood graph (what you log with), the ability to log multiple times in a day, the chart for each month, etc. there have been no bugs at all. I love it! It’s a great app :)

**Developer response:** Thank you so much! I’m really glad the mood graph and multiple daily check-ins work well for you. I’ve redesigned the charts to make them clearer, so I hope they feel easier to read now. Your other ideas are on my list, especially med checking and symptom tracking. Thanks for helping make Even Mind better. -Chris

### 4/5 — Great App! I Wish there was also a pain tracker

*2024-08-15*

This is the best bipolar tracking app that I have found. No bloatware. I do wish for a couple of things though. Allowing for mood logging on the Apple Watch and I wish there was a pain scale to go along with mood logging. 4 stars because there is always room for improvement.

**Developer response:** Thank you! “No bloatware” is exactly what I’m going for, so that means a lot. Apple Watch logging and a pain scale are both great ideas, and I’ve added them to my list. Thanks for helping make Even Mind better. -Chris

### 4/5 — So simple and straightforward. I like it

*2024-03-05, version 5.1.3*

I like how straightforward the app is and helped track your moods. Its very organized. However, I cant really add my thoughts, moods and what happened on the previous day. Also, I cant firgure outt about the sleep tracker. Im still new to the app so a bit struggling but I still love the app.

### 4/5 — The best Bipolar tool

*2023-02-16*

I absolutely love this app. No ads, customizable design !!Not overstimulating!! I don’t immediately get distracted or forget what i wanted to document when i open the app. I hope autofill emotion examples will be available in the future. I struggle to understand the emotion(s) i’m experiencing so this would benefit me greatly. Sometimes i can’t put a word to what i’m feeling and have to google it so this would definitely put me up to the 5 star rating if added

**Developer response:** Thank you, Mscherrygarnet! I’m so glad it feels calm and focused. Helping you put words to what you’re feeling is a great idea, and I’ve added emotion suggestions to my list. -Chris

### 4/5 — Pretty Good!

*2022-10-03, version 3.4.3*

I love this app. The only thing is that I wish it would allow you to attach photos to a journal entry. It’d be cool! Like scrapbooking 🤔🤔

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Simple and effective

*2026-08-09, version 6.4.3*

Just what I wanted, has energy and mood tracking. Then some nice graphs for correlations with other stuff, then you can pay to get even more graphs(which I may do, I like graphs). Just really good and well made 🤌

### 5/5 — Love this app! Exactly what I wanted

*2026-06-29*

I set to ask me like 8 times a day what I’m doing and how I am. Only been a week but already helped me realize some things about what makes me happy and not

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review!

### 5/5 — Invaluable

*2024-06-28, version 5.3.2*

It’s quick, the reminders make it easy, and the data export to CSV is neat for the nerdy types.

### 5/5 — Great insights into impact of activities on mood

*2023-08-27*

Very helpful to be able to specifically link and quantify energy & mood to specific activities and actions taken or not,, the benefits and downsides

### 5/5 — Simple in the best way possible with options for adding details.

*2023-07-05*

This has a really intuitive interface that feels really manageable even when low energy/ bad days. I really like the easy way to record data while also allowing for more detail. Just a really well setup interface.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review!

### 5/5 — Consistent!

*2023-06-21, version 4.3.1*

Finally an app that consistently tracks my mindfulness

### 5/5 — A simple way to track your mood

*2023-05-15*

This is a good app that prompts me once a day to record my mood. And to me, it is better to have a scale of energy and mood that isn’t a bunch of emojis like other apps.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review!

### 5/5 — Solid and surprisingly helpful

*2023-02-22, version 4.1.1*

I’ve been turning from app to app for help getting to the place I want but finally realized that ultimately it will boil down to you, the user. I see so many opinions on these comments about the trivial little things someone wants to see or blasting a developer when you can just tell that user is likely just in error themselves - but all that being said, nothings perfect, just like this app. That’s just relative. However, with a shift in my own thinking and having this on my phone, I just used it one day without looking for it to do the heavy lifting. And Its helping me dramatically. The basic nature of its design is calm and the simple analytics it compiles has allowed me to finally get the benefit from what is really just a mini journal. Im not in a place to pay for the upgrade but I dont feel like I’m being forced to - which lets be real most of these apps are praying for. It has given me some clarity into myself, without making me feel manipulated into spending. I never write these and hate to tell anyone else whats-what (as if anyone really knows) but you know, the world can’t bend for you. I just try to focus on what I can do differently not some app on a phone. Thanks to the developer!! You’ve supported me with what you’ve made and didn’t manipulate me during a difficult and vulnerable time. Recommended to anyone who doesn’t need frills just an authentically simple journal/check in outlet that can aid in their own journey into themselves.

### 5/5 — Best Mood Tracker I’ve Found

*2023-02-06, version 3.5.1*

I LOVE this app. I find it better than other mood tracking apps because it’s not overwhelming. The simplicity makes me actually use it. It’s design is user friendly, and you can track your mood at any moment with barely any effort!

It’s a perfect diary too since you can add notes to your entries that sum up what you’re thinking in that moment, or just go on a rant about the day you’ve had. Reflecting on old notes is very interesting!

imo, everybody should try out this app at least for a bit, I recommend it to all my friends. Track your mood when prompted for at least a week (don’t forget to add notes)!!! and see if it fits your lifestyle. Might as well give it a shot ! maybe you’ll fall in love just as I have :P

### 5/5 — Investor in Even Mind

*2023-01-12, version 4.0.4*

I love this product so much I invested into it
