The app is designed to work largely offline, enabling you to continue accessing features like your schedule, the maps, and more regardless of the reliability of onsite WiFi. Data updates do require an internet connection to download. Data updates will apply themselves automatically during normal app usage, but if you are not seeing something you expect to see, you can check for one on the Home tab. If one is available, there will be a red banner at the top. You can tap there to apply it immediately.

You can’t search for poster authors. All you can do is scroll through a list of a thousand people, impractical on a phone.

The app works ok for at the high level, but looking for specific abstracts and posters is nearly impossible.  For example, one cannot type in the name of an author, but has to scroll down 100s of names to get down to the authors in the latter part of the alphabet.
