### 5/5 — Impressively robust and consistent connection…

*2025-11-30, version 1.1.92*

Gotta tell ya, at first I was highly skeptical of the claims made for a “free” VPN…yet (at least so far) as far as speed, reliability, and server flexibility. At this point, everything seems to be borne out as true and quite impressive. Installation was a snap (even for a neophyte like myself), and to shorten the narrative… everything works as advertised. I mean everything. Easy, fast, and rock-solid connection.
Only caveat: the app itself is so new, that “EventVPN” has yet to be fully tested on many major platforms for the “too good to be true” performance for a “free of cost” VPN. I’ve run leak tests, speed tests, IP geo-spoofing tests…all validated EventVPN as legit. And its
more than credible foundations of “ExpressVPN” have sold me as to its safety. I’m ever a skeptic, and will keep checking the app on a constant basis, but as the guy was heard saying while falling off the top of the 5-story building…”so far, so good”.

Follow-up: After two months of use and continued testing at browserleaks.com, the vpn aspect as far geo-spoofing seems to remain as advertised - very good. However, I have noticed a rather consistent inability to stream content both from ESPN and general movie sites (like Tubi, Pluto, HBO, etc.). My understanding is in choosing to use the “free” version, despite having a broad selection of international servers, the number of servers in total my be too limiting and readily blocked by these sites. Just a heads-up for those that have this functionality as a basic requirement. But for general privacy needs and geo-spoofing beyond streaming movies and such, EventVPN (free version) has been flawless.

### 5/5 — Scammers as it’s not free

*2025-09-24, version 1.1.4*

They advertised it as a free vpn but when you download it the first thing it asks for is subscription and there’s no free option. Such a disappointment

### 5/5 — Great!

*2025-09-19, version 1.1.4*

Works great even in free tier.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not working

*2026-05-06, version 1.2.2*

I paid the identity confirmation money for the free plan while I was in Canada now I’m in Cambodia and it will not work at all. Please tell me what’s going on.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t connect

*2026-03-07, version 1.2*

Doesn’t connect if you are on free version . It will just be reconnecting and take hours but still not connect

### 1/5 — don't open

*2025-11-03, version 1.1.7*

my vpn don't open

### 1/5 — Forced to delete

*2025-09-20, version 1.1.4*

Free tier had to deleted from VPN configuration in settings. Downloaded and it connected on second try. I disconnected as I was going to utilize this service as a backup to my primary paid VPN service. Even though disconnected, in app and settings, my device was no longer connecting to any internet services. This was resolved by deleted EventVPN profile in VPN settings. I have iOS 26.0 on a 14plus. I am sure it may work for others who have time or experience to optimize settings and such. I am not a device or VPN expert, however, if it’s going to fight me, I’ll move on.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Function

*2025-09-19, version 1.1.4*

You watch ads to connect but then it doesn’t let you connect. Scam or terrible service?

### 1/5 — Not open

*2025-09-13, version 1.1.3*

Long loading time

### 3/5 — Owssom

*2025-10-27, version 1.1.7*

### 3/5 — Free?

*2025-10-12, version 1.1.6*

Good just started only thing subscribe no way I delete false advertisement

### 3/5 — Superb … when connected

*2025-10-04, version 1.1.5*

Very fast, decent selection of servers, good interface, ads are not excessive (it’s a free service after all) and great that no account needed. Ticks all the boxes extremely well.
but…
tunnel seems to drop out when device not in use for X amount of time (seems random), and kill switch doesn’t kick in, so a few times have been browsing without noticing traffic isn’t protected. Switching back until fixed - real shame

### 4/5 — Connection

*2025-09-25, version 1.1.5*

Fast in connecting

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Brilliant VPN

*2026-03-25, version 1.2.1*

Love this VPN fast and stable

### 5/5 — Pretty good

*2026-03-06, version 1.2*

I was a longtime subscriber to ExpressVPN but had to pause it due to financial issues. I’d tried Proton’s free VPN, but it was too slow. EventVPN works surprisingly well. Obviously not as robust as the paid version, but it’s probably the best free option out there.
