### 2/5 — Suddenly cannot log in

*2026-05-11, version 19.2.39*

Traveling and I cannot log in. Very frustrating

### 1/5 — New update killed the app

*2026-01-29, version 19.1.31*

The screen recording feature needs to be optional. Dead on arrival and useless app now. I’m finding something else.

### 1/5 — Monitoring only is preventing app usage

*2026-01-29, version 19.1.30*

I use this app just for monitoring, no restricting. After the most recent update, it’s blocking all app usage even in monitoring mode. This defect is causing my phone to be unusable

### 1/5 — Great Before Update

*2026-01-26, version 19.1.30*

I had zero issues with the app prior to the update. Now it seems like issues every week between all my apps being locked that I had whitelisted to my wife being notified of unsupervisedt use of the YouTube app that I only access through safari. I have not had the app for YouTube in two years. Prior to the update I had no weird reports and after the update I’ve had two, and the engineers end up saying, “it was nothing on your end” just a nightmare and aggravation. If it isn’t fixed this week I will go without another option.

Update: I got an email about the update, well I updated and had more issues. I politely cancelled my subscription and asked Apple to refund me my money from the last couple of months due to the headache and they agreed.

### 1/5 — Screen record

*2026-01-25, version 19.1.30*

No warning on update to unlock apps. This drains my battery. Very frustrating when I need apps for work and I have go into the app to unlock all my apps. Plus my clock up in the corner is red and I don’t like that. Might have to find an alternative if this is not changed.

### 1/5 — New update RUINED this app

*2026-01-24, version 19.1.30*

I used to be able to rely on EA but they updated the app on 1/7/26…. Sent one easy to miss email about the update and disabled screen sharing across all devices if you missed the update - so I had 3 weeks of “clean” reports when in fact nothing was being monitored. Very frustrating. THEN when you update, it only lets you select 50 “white listed” apps and it glitches out constantly as you do this, and then it’ll just automatically disable screen time access and when you try to fix it, it literally just reverts back to disallowing access and NOTHING IS BEING MONITORED… the app was awesome before update - now i need a new app entirely.

### 1/5 — They ruined this app with the new update

*2026-01-20, version 19.1.28*

The new screen record, unlock apps, and whitelock apps feature has made this app literally unusable with your phone. Switching to a different app since they decided to blowup a good thing they had.

### 1/5 — App is useless now

*2026-01-19, version 19.1.28*

You destroyed this app with the 50 app limit. Cause it’s not even an app limit. It’s site specifics too. If this a limitation to iOS and devs have no control, then I am truly sorry. But you’re kidding yourself if you think that most people are on less than 50 sites and apps a day. You’re crazy.

### 1/5 — Keep getting notices that my phone is disconnected

*2026-01-19, version 19.1.28*

My accountability partner and I keep getting emails every single week that my phone is disconnected from everaccountable. We have tried every single trick that they walked us through and we keep getting them. So every single week i have to contact everaccountable and then prove to my accountability partner that i didnt do it. Not sure if this is just me or not but its very annoying. Looking for other platforms that are more reliable. Not worth the money for the stress

### 1/5 — New AI update

*2026-01-16, version 19.1.28*

Can’t stand the new update, it does work well but it flags stuff that is not inappropriate. I was trying to watch Bryce Crawford wedding video who is a religious influencer and it kept flagging it and reporting me to my accountability partner. It’s annoying and inconsistent. Uninstalled app and will be finding something new to use. Made my phone unusable, 50 apps is not enough especially when you use your phone for work. Unlocking every time you need something is so pointless. Can’t let your phone lock or you repeat the process over. Absolutely hate this app now

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Robbed me of my money

*2026-06-08, version 19.2.39*

Just decided to log me out one day and refuse to find my subscription (despite the sub being active in my apple subscriptions). Didn’t let me log back in causing me to jump through massive hoops to get this garbage off my phone. Literally robbed me of my $130 for annual pass then locked me out a few months later. Stay away unless you just like setting your money on fire and creating a massive headache for something that’s easy to find bypasses to view the content I’m trying not to :(

### 1/5 — Can’t even read the news

*2026-06-03, version 19.2.39*

I get flagged for hot sauce, news articles that mention the word se* and a lot of other things that have nothing to do with pr0n. This app is attempts to exacerbate the issue by sending all sorts of mislabeled things to an accountability partner. There are a lot of better ways to find accountability than be accused of a bunch of things you didn’t do.

### 1/5 — Was once a good app

*2026-05-08, version 19.2.39*

This was once a good app. Now it is so buggy it’s not worth the money. Go elsewhere.

### 1/5 — New version not realistic to use

*2026-04-06, version 19.2.36*

I have had Ever Accountable for over 10 years. I have had a lot of success and it’s been a great experience. This latest update has been a huge disaster. You will be required to turn on a screen monitoring mode every time you do anything on your phone. It turns off when you make a call then you will need to manually turn it back on. The monitoring is so tight you can’t watch Americas Got Talent. The panel judges wear to inappropriate clothing and it automatically kicks you off. This app has gone from a helper to a hovering bible school teacher. This might be good for kids under the age of 8 years old but unrealistic for anyone else.

### 1/5 — Use Something Else

*2026-02-27, version 19.2.34*

I’ve been using Ever Accountable for years and have had a good experience until this latest update. My accountability partner gets alerted to unmonitored app usage despite those apps being configured in the app to require screen sharing to use. They need to fix these massive issues before you should consider giving them money for a service like this. Go use Covenant Eyes.

### 1/5 — New app is awful

*2026-02-26, version 19.2.34*

Update 4: it’s not bad enough everything that happened with this app and the grief it caused my wife, but now I get weekly emails from them asking “how did we do?” Are you absolutely kidding me. You did awful. Stop the stupid emails.

Update three as of January 28, 2026. My wife just continued to get Aaron messages that I needed her support immediately. This was happening in the middle of her workday. Support team keeps telling me their engineering team is working on it, but there’s been no results. The response from them below is a joke. They act like they sincerely want to help, but they do nothing to stop the lousy app from malfunctioning. they kept telling me the Eruda toolbox was not a problem from ever accountable, however, it’s funny that it went away as soon as I deleted the app. This app was supposed to help support me and my wife to know that I was not doing anything as far as acting out, but it just caused more problems between us.

Update two as of January 25, 2026 Ever Accountable just keeps piling up the nonsense. In Safari, I now have a hammering wrench in the bottom right corner of my screen that I cannot get rid of. Thanks for making my online experience just miserable.

From ChatGPT

“Ever Accountable v19.1.30 is the known-bad build that exposes the Eruda debug console overlay in Safari on iOS 26.x.

That hammer-and-wrench button you’re seeing is 100% a bug in EA 19.1.30, not Safari, not malware, and not a shopping helper.”

UPDATE: As of JAN 17, 2026 the broadcast is malfunctioning! It’s on, but my apps are still locked out. Great job seizing my phone.

You’ve locked out my Bible and faith apps, banking & investments, maps, calendar, calculator, Adobe, email, Ring doorbell, ADT security, and others that make no sense at all and all add up on my 50 app limit. It’s not practical to have to “unlock” everything every 2 minutes. I watched your video, I’m not nearly as excited as you are.

I shouldn’t have to through your unlock function to get to my ADT Security app for goodness sake. I watched your “explainer video” and the other response. You have made my phone a flip phone and you just keep blaming Apple.

The app was better when I didn’t have to think about it and press the button every time I open my phone. This is not helpful. It actually creates anxiety more than it helps me.

Oh yeah, you blocked my Covenant Eyes/ Victory Shield accountability app too. Good grief.

So this morning there was an update and I thought “oh great, maybe they fix some of the problems“, nope, they just made it worse and my 50 apps that I had on the White list are now gone and I have to do it all over again. thanks so much Ever Accountable for making things even worse within 24 hours of this awful update.

And the issues just pile up. For the last two nights at midnight, the app has reported to my accountability partner, my wife, that I was disconnected from the app. Doesn’t say how long just that I was disconnected at midnight, both nights. This update is causing nothing but stress, strife, and a rift between my wife and I. Thanks a lot.

### 1/5 — Update ruined app and functionality

*2026-02-06, version 19.1.31*

I was a user of EA for 5+ years until this recent update. I wish there was a way to use the version of Ever Accountable before the update - no one wants to double tap the back of their phone every time they use an app.

Hijacked is a good word to describe this situation. You pay for an annual subscription, the developers change the core features of the app and how it operates, and you are left with an app that no longer works.

I’m extremely conflicted as I truly believe old EA was the best accountability software when combined with IOS screen time restrictions. Now I’m inclined to look to other companies - this update ruined the app.

### 1/5 — App is Garbage

*2026-02-05, version 19.1.31*

2/5/26 update: it’s been two full days and it’s still not working as intended. When I unlock the apps everything locks back up in 3 seconds while it’s still broadcasting. I get a message saying to open the app to unlock and broadcast when the broadcast is still going. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE APPS TO USE.

The app basically bricks your phone the moment you give it permission. I shouldn’t have to whitelist basic and necessary apps to use my phone. You have to start a screen record broadcast to use any app not whitelisted. The AI that “monitors” your screen will flag ANYTHING that is slightly inappropriate. Basically, your accountability partner will be notified and sent a screenshot for anything they flag as inappropriate. This is not building trust, this is invasion of privacy and ultimately leads to questions from your partner on what you’re doing. The screen broadcast lags my phone, and adding it as a widget does nothing to make unlocking my apps faster. And randomly, you’ll unlock the apps and then after 3 seconds, all the apps lock back up while you’re still sharing your screen. So what’s the point of this stupid feature that doesn’t work. I understand trying to to quit p**n but my goodness you do not need to lock my phone down. If I could leave this with 0 stars I would. The owner seems so proud in his “why” video. This is not something to be proud of. Especially if you’re charging a monthly subscription.

### 1/5 — WAS a great app

*2026-01-30, version 19.1.31*

I have used this app for 7 years now and it was a great help to me when I was struggling. The new update is TERRIBLE! I have had such a great streak for the last 2 years on accountability and still maintaining it. After the recent update, it has been so frustrating. It’s notifying my accountability partner often for absolutely no reason and has sent atleast 15 warning emails to them in last 2 weeks. It’s glitching terribly and locking all my apps. Sadly, I’m looking for a new accountability app unless these glitches get resolved.

### 5/5 — The only winner

*2026-07-30, version 19.3.42*

There is 0 secret ways around it if you take the time to set it up right. Sin hides in the darkness. Amazing.

### 5/5 — Thank you for this awesome app

*2026-06-19, version 19.3.40*

I love this app so far, and I think the false positive rate is low. Not even the best discriminator can achieve 100% accuracy (you can ask LLMs to generate highly suggestive images, for example), so this is working decently. Having to explain what I saw on social media that triggered the warning to my gf is probably the best way for me to avoid using social media at all - for the better. I used covenant eyes 4 years ago but their browser was trash, so the “monitor everything” feature is the best.

### 5/5 — The best in the business

*2026-06-17, version 19.3.40*

Highly, highly recommend this software over any of its competitors. It's worth every penny!

### 5/5 — The best in the business

*2026-04-13, version 19.2.36*

Highly, highly recommend this software over any of its competitors. It's worth every penny!

### 5/5 — Better than the other guys

*2026-03-14, version 19.2.34*

Really good app. And customer service is phenomenal, they really listen.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-02-24, version 19.2.33*

Great accountability app!

When I was deciding which app to use, I had three main priorities: it had to work across all my Apple devices (MacBook, iPhone, and iPad), keep my data secure from hackers, and not be easy to get around the monitoring.

So far, it’s worked well on all my Apple devices.

I also like that their security practices are audited by a third party (ISO certified). That lets me know they’re actually protecting my data from hackers how they claim they are.

And the app takes screenshots on each device, which honestly feels like the only real way to prevent workarounds of the monitoring and make accountability actually work.

There are probably apps out there which are more convenient to use, but at the expense of there being easier ways to get around the monitoring

### 5/5 — Thank you developers!

*2026-02-23, version 19.2.33*

The app had been good before they made a large update where there were some major issues, but the developers listened to the complaints and were pretty quick to fix the issues! Not the app is totally customizable based on how much accountability or privacy you want! Thank you developers!

### 5/5 — Developers listen

*2026-02-17, version 19.2.33*

The recent update allows you to use social media apps again, honestly though I got used to life without them and enjoy it more not using social media on my phone.

Their newest update was unnecessary for me and low key bricked my phone , it was a really frustrating user experience. That being said I’m glad they listened to feedback and rollback the update and give the choice now.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it / but now if you want to go that route at least you can.

### 5/5 — A company that listens to and hears its customers!

*2026-02-14, version 19.2.33*

UPDATE: SCREENSHOTS ARE BACK!! Thank you!! ———- I got this app for the screenshots it takes on iPhone, while using Safari, however, the latest update removed that! We don’t need all the fancy stuff, screenshots are essential! Pls fix this, sincerely a customer for 8 years now.

### 5/5 — Update - Love the fix

*2026-02-13, version 19.2.33*

I woke up this morning and saw ever accountable now allows you to restrict only the apps you desire! This is wonderful and lets me have control over the rest of my phone again while also having a way to safely use native social media apps. Great work team! Thanks for listening to the feedback.
