### 2/5 — Unhappy

*2026-08-22, version 16.20*

I unsubscribed and lost access to the book I had unlocked immediately although there were 29 days left in my subscription. This doesn’t happen with audible. Also can only play x1.2 or 1.5 speed- no in between

### 2/5 — Very glitchy

*2026-08-19, version 16.20*

I have many days where I cannot open the app, listen to the book that I’ve paid for. All morning, my app has shown just a black screen… How do I even get help??

### 3/5 — App

*2026-08-19, version 16.20*

App not working. I click on and only get black screen. Have to come to Apps store to click “open” to get it to work.

### 2/5 — Glitchy

*2026-08-16, version 16.20*

Not sure if it’s just my phone but the app constantly signs me out even while in the middle of a chapter and then doesn’t let me sign back in without a million tries first, restarting my phone and turning my WiFi off and back on. I’m currently on my free trial and if this is how the app runs I don’t think I’ll be keeping this subscription.

### 3/5 — Sketchy Audio

*2026-08-12, version 16.20*

I have two complaints, with the second being a direct result of the first.

1 - The main issue here is that I’ve had multiple books’ audio cut out while the player shows it is still playing. The only way to get the audio to play is to close the app, reopen it, and rewind to wherever you were before the audio cut out. This isn’t a permanent fix either as it’ll cut out again within minutes.

2 - This app is not safe to use via Bluetooth while driving. With the audio dropping out and the only way to fix it being closing and reopening the app, this is not a hands free compatible app. I’m not sure how many of you also like to listen to books while driving but if that’s your thing - this app isn’t safe for it.

I wish I could blame the audio on spotty signal but it still happens on Wi-Fi at home and at work.

I was just charged for my membership this morning and noted that the price was raised by a couple dollars. I didn’t think it was worth $9.99 when these issues started so I definitely don’t want to pay more than $10. I’ll be looking for an alternative audiobook service after this month runs out.

I’ve come to update this review a while later. I left the app and came back after the rebrand to Everand. For the most part they have fixed the spotty connection issue but it is far from perfect. I still experience random disruptions and it’s not on my WiFi’s end so it has to be on the developers. Since the rebrand - you get 3 books a month instead of 1 so honestly that’s the only thing keeping me here since they’ve only halfheartedly fixed the spotty connection issue.

### 2/5 — Misleading adds

*2026-08-09, version 16.19*

So I have been a long time user of both audible and Scribd and now it’s evolved product Everand from
Its very beginning as I had been saving and listening to audiobooks on Scribd for many years already. Eventually as money got thinner I made the choice to remove one of the audio books apps and specifically chose to keep Audible because once I purchased a book, I was able to continue to have access whether for my membership with Amazon or not, I may not have gotten any more books, but I could always and re-listen to anything I had already purchased, and that was not the way it was with this app. So when the new commercials came out, I decided to give this app another chance and I actually went as far as purchasing additional credits to buy entire series only to find out that the books I purchased before and saved before we are no longer available to me and if I stopped paying the new books, I bought cease to be available to me.

### 2/5 — Very slow

*2026-08-06, version 16.18*

It takes forever to pull up your audio book and it is not user friendly.

### 2/5 — Please fix the interface

*2026-08-05, version 16.18*

The main page is too saturated with different titles and other unnecessary things. At points I’m unable to find the books that I’ve unlocked. I think the main page should be your unlocked books. Overall, the app is just not intuitive and that’s a shame.

### 4/5 — New changes may make sense, but they’re also really annoying!

*2026-08-05, version 16.18*

Everand used to be one of my favourite audiobook apps; don’t be fooled by earlier reviews, before they ruined everything, now this app is worth much less. They decided they didn’t care about “fast readers” like myself anymore, just so they could get more money. Even for slower readers, it’s like a lazier more annoying version of audible, that’s only worth using if you enjoy cheaper, older, non-premium books. Since they got rid of the unlimited account and replaced it with what you see now. If you can listen to six hours of an audiobook in two days or less, you’re definitely better off with Libby or Audible, but it’s still a good backup for non-premium books. Only buy it if you’re completely sure it’s worth it for the books you like. g, now this app is worth much less. ### 2/5 — The app is very buggy

*2026-08-01, version 16.18*

I appreciate the audio preview. But the app is very buggy, even after using a credit. The player randomly stops requiring me to restart my phone, delete and re-download the app, or a variety of other work arounds.

### 2/5 — Needs autosave note feature.

*2026-08-01, version 16.18*

I would give 5 stars if they worked in a feature that autosaves notes. It can be very frustrating when youre a paragraph deep into annotating, then the app swipes out and saves absolutely nothing…. Kinda seems like a no brainer but I digress.

### 3/5 — Used to be better

*2026-07-31*

I’ve been happily using Scribd, and now Everand for several years now. But with the new plan structures being introduced I’m becoming frustrated. I am trying to change from a legacy plan to a new one so I can unlock a new ebook I want to read.
I cannot see anywhere in the app that allows me to make that chance in-app. The FAQ in the app says to log in to my account on the Everand Website, and navigate to “Your Account”. It says in the “Subscription” section, I should select “view all plans”, but when I go there, the subscription section only says: “ To manage or cancel your subscription, please visit: Apple Support”
I tried opening a chat as it seems it’s the only option for asking for help, and it the chat wouldn’t even load properly, so no response there.
You guys are making it very hard to upgrade. What am I supposed to do??

**Developer response:** Really sorry you're experiencing this! Unfortunately, if you're subscribed through Apple, you need to upgrade your plan through the Apple App Store. Please feel free to email me at community@everand.com if you have any other issues or troubles with this, I'd love to help you out!

### 3/5 — Needs autosave note feature.

*2026-07-31, version 16.18*

I would give 5 stars if they worked in a feature that autosaves notes. It can be very frustrating when youre a paragraph deep into annotating, then the app swipes out and saves absolutely nothing…. Kinda seems like a no brainer but I digress. Also would like more titles from diverse and inclusive authors. It’s surprising they don’t have many from black feminist scholars. Like bell hooks, (more) Toni Morrison, Ntozake Shange etc. They have a good surface level selection but they need to go deeper when it comes to this specific study area and I’m sure there’s other areas missing big contributors.

### 1/5 — No stars

*2026-07-30, version 16.18*

Everand the app that takes your subscription cost yet never updated to reflect in the app. This was my second attempt. Will not be trying again.

### 1/5 — App keeps freezing up

*2026-07-29, version 16.18*

App keeps freezing up and will not transfer my books from devices.

### 1/5 — Search feature sucks

*2026-07-26, version 16.17*

Ive been a subscriber for a long time via Scribd and finally canceled out of frustration. A couple of years ago Scribd & Everand changed the search feature. It says you can search by author, title or topic but you cannot. It only returns categories. The search feature sucks. And, btw, EVERAND is the dumbest name I can imagine. You have ruined a good platform.

### 2/5 — Many problems

*2026-07-22, version 16.17*

Tried to like it.
Great selection of Audio books, but
App would not let me upgrade to the 5 books per month plan.
App lost track of where you stopped for the day.
Getting help, even with a help ticket is next to impossible.

### 2/5 — Too many bugs

*2026-07-22, version 16.17*

I regularly experience trouble signing in, even by trying it on separate devices. Help center did not help me figure out this issue

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not worth the money

*2026-08-27, version 16.20*

If I spend money for a subscription to purchase books I shouldn’t lose access to already purchased books when my subscription is canceled. Not worth your money, don’t fall for a scam.

### 1/5 — App issues

*2026-08-24, version 16.20*

I’m hoping this will catch some attention there a serious problem recently now when I’m in a audiobook and I stop listening the app doesn’t save where I left off now I’m having to keep remembering where I left off and I didn’t have to do that before and it’s effecting my progress on fable too this is pretty inconvenient

### 1/5 — Don't Update

*2026-08-20, version 16.20*

I had no problem with this app until I updated it this morning. Now I get nothing but a black screen. Hope they fix this quickly.

### 1/5 — Black Screen Drama

*2026-08-19, version 16.20*

Everand works well most of the time, but not quite as well as audible. At the moment or like it is a black screen.. Not happy I guess I’ll have to delete my subscription if I can’t find the solution.

### 1/5 — Weird subscription terms

*2026-08-18, version 16.20*

You only have access to the books you buy while paying for the subscription, and you lose access to your unused “unlocks” if you don’t use them in 6 months. I don’t understand why you have to use unlocks to read books, if you can only access them while paying for the subscription. With Kindle Unlimited, you keep the access to the books you purchase with your monthly point, AND you can borrow up to 20 books at a time that are available with the membership. I’d love to stop using Amazon, but this membership just doesn’t make any sense. It would be like if Hulu or a Netflix only let you watch 1-3 shows a month.

### 1/5 — Terrible UI, poor chapter partitions, poor audio quality, worse DRM than Amazon

*2026-08-15, version 16.20*

Why on earth does this app create chapter partitions that don’t align with the actual chapter partitions within the book you’re reading/listening to? Just makes it impossible to track where you’re at for folks who cycle between reading/listening, which i assume a lot of folks are. The app generated chapters label themselves too, choosing random word phrases from the 30 sec passage they’ve been partitioned from, extremely confusing and hard to track spatially through any given text. I won’t be subscribing after i finish my first audiobook via this app.

The app also plays at a significantly lower volume than Audible or Libby and has a worse selection. It also appears you do not retain listening rights without an active subscription. I didn’t think DRM could get much worse than Amazon but apparently it can.

### 1/5 — Very poorly created app

*2026-08-11, version 16.19*

Poorly created app and make it so difficult to sign in

### 1/5 — Issues with trials & subscriptions

*2026-08-09, version 16.19*

I signed up for a 30 day trial via App Store, but nothing appeared to work in the app (and the onboarding flow looked broken). I then signed up for a 30 day trial directly with Everand. Ultimately the service wasn’t right for me, so I cancelled well before the 30 days, making sure to cancel both within Everand app and App Store, and yet I was billed for a full month regardless.

### 1/5 — It sucks now

*2026-08-08, version 16.19*

The whole reason I downloaded it in the first place was because I hated audible and wanted an audiobook app that had a monthly subscription where you could listen to as many books at once and not have to wait a month later for another one.

### 1/5 — Pure trash

*2026-08-02, version 16.18*

Too many things wrong with the app to list just trash!! I say just use Audible!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best audio book app

*2026-08-11, version 16.19*

I have used this app for 8 years. And Scibed before it was bought by Everand. I absolutely love it and it’s was cheaper than audible

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2026-07-22, version 16.17*

I’ve listened to many books already! The credits role over as well. I took a pause for 2 months came back and had over 8 credits, which I have been enjoying. I like that option because a popular listening app doesn’t do that and they charge more money for extra listening hours which is super annoying.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-07-04, version 16.14*

The latest update seems to have fixed the issue of the book restarting. If that lasts then I’d rate the app 5 stars. My only complaint is that when I go to a book and read the description and click on “more” to read the whole description it doesn’t just expand the description, it opens in a whole new window. Then I have to find my place in the description or start reading it all over again. It just seems like an unnecessary and annoying extra step.

### 5/5 — Very thankful

*2026-07-01, version 16.13.1*

I like the fact that the credits roll over the next month… which means if you use them wisely you’ll be able to read as many books as you want each month… Thank You Everand for that cool perk.. this app gets me through my work shift and drive home..

### 5/5 — Très bien

*2026-06-20*

Le principe de l'application est super, il y a un grand choix d'audiobooks et la gestion de l'arrêt / marche du livre et la gestion des chapitres fonctionne très bien.

### 5/5 — For the money good app

*2026-06-05, version 16.10*

Download is pointless. No real offline reading. You have to have internet to open the saved section or downloaded area. Completely pointless to download them then. It glitches often. For the price I guess it’s something I’ll put up with because it seems to be the most books for the price but that’s literally one of the number one things I want. Offline reading.

### 5/5 — Audio not loading

*2026-05-05, version 16.7*

For the last weeks I have been getting error that audio player cannot be loaded and cannot play it. Making the app useless

### 5/5 — My favorite audiobook app

*2026-04-29, version 16.6.2*

I really appreciate the update to roll over credit. Been using this app for years and constantly recommend it to people over audible given the selection is great and the price is way better value — even better now with the rollover.

### 5/5 — Wide Selection

*2026-04-25, version 16.6.2*

I’ve been a subscriber for a very long time and never regretted it. The selection and variety of titles can’t be best!

### 5/5 — Highly Recommend

*2026-04-23, version 16.6.2*

I recently switched from audible to Everand and have been impressed with the low cost of 3 premium audiobooks. I saw that some people are unimpressed with their lack of unlimited books but never was interested in free audible audiobooks either. I think some tweaks could be made to the app but it’s 100% worth the money!
