Progressing to the next turn doesn’t help, neither does completing the pattern again elsewhere on the board. Turning the game off and on again generates a new pattern but means you’ve wasted your time on the old one. 2 The ****** bunnies! Watching them munch the 6 pointed flowers you spent ages creating when you’ve almost finished a pattern is beyond frustrating in a game that ought to be relaxing. If these 2 things could be fixed I would give this game 5 stars because it’s lovely otherwise. ### 3/5 — Another overrated game *2020-09-08* Getting a bit tired of the review sites showering average games in glowing praise. No doubt pushing the industry that keeps them employed. It's okay. Bit boring. Although, after 3-4 ours, if you are not interested in high scores or in story (which is nice), for you it will become boring quickly. Also, this app DRAINS battery of smartphone, so 10 min of game and - 10% of battery. Also, I don’t like “playing just to play”, I mean farming monolith to unlock new abilities or advance in story. ITS FRUSTRATING! Thanks god this is not free to play... So, overall — great game, but needed some work for those, who don’t want to wait (even if it’s main idea of game and story — I don’t care about this idea, I wanna get fun experience!). Also battery draining must be taken into consideration for improvement. ### 3/5 — Could be better *2019-02-16* The game has a lot of depth which I appreciate but I’m now at a dead end. I couldn’t put it down at first but now I don’t know if I’m stuck or if I solved everything. I’m not sure if it is supposed to advance after you unlock the 4 light pillars somehow or if you really only have the beginning board once this part is done. If so then it’s a waste of money. Thank goodness they added the feature to let you exit the game and come back to finish. I don’t mind the lack of instructions but I can’t Figure out the cave. I’ve solved 7+ puzzles there but I never seem to get a reward. So this isn't really a "play when you want" game—you have to be willing to sit down and do nothing else until a round is finished (probably 10 mins or more). 2) The animation is like a slideshow, which makes the finger tracking very imprecise; I often find out it's done a move that isn't what I intended, which I then just have to deal with since there's no way to correct it at that point. Overall it's fairly nice but it just adds up to more annoyance than it's worth. ### 4/5 — Beautiful and relaxing *2018-10-25* This game is beautiful and very relaxing. The only major problem is that it drains your battery incredibly fast. I am sure that more optimizations will happen soon enough to fix the battery usage issues however. Jeden Euro wert! ### 4/5 — Ran out of plants *2018-09-09* I turned my last two plants into a monolith with four moves left. I couldn’t use up my growing turns because there was “nothing to grow”. But I couldn’t plant anything because I didn’t have anything to plant. Lost all my earned triangles and points because I had to start over in this predicament. Otherwise it’s a pretty mediocre game. Fine to play in the background of watching tv, or killing time. Not a super satisfying narrative, and would have appreciated if the field of play changed shape or something as the game went on. ### 5/5 — Beautiful, enjoyable game! *2018-09-06* I really enjoyed playing this game! I couldn’t put it down for three hours straight after opening it for the first time. I wish I could save games and return to them though. As I’ve been playing on the go I’ve had trouble finishing a game in under 10 minutes and then I lose my progress because I push the game to the background. I thought there would be more to it than just combining flowers to make bigger ones to get triangles to do it somewhere else. Totally not worth it in my opinion. ### 2/5 — Not the experience I expected *2018-08-23, version 1.0* It’s just 2048 with some new mechanics and graphics that kill your phone twice as fast. There’s no “narrative” portion, just a myst-esque overworld with some buttons you have to click on to progress and some vague gameplay hints. It’s essentially a match-based puzzle game where you can spread flower tiles to neighboring tiles using seeds. It claims to contain some sort of narrative, but it’s light / completely absent depending on how much you decide to read into context clues. It doesn’t feel satisfying to solve puzzles, and there’s no reward for doing well other than more puzzle tiles. I don’t know how the dev rationalizes the price with the gameplay being as shallow as it is. Bleh. Bad purchase. **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! We would like to say that the game has a lot of depth that's hidden beneath the surface, and a lot of the elements of the game reveal themselves over time. Most players will spend 6+ hours finding all of the game's hidden secrets and gameplay rules, but it does take patience and determination! That said, we are giving some thought to how we can offer some gentle guidance for players to find the next step in their journey. ### 3/5 — Not visually accessible *2021-11-08* My biggest issue is that it is stylized in a way where the game board is only warm red hues and all the flowers are the same color (even if they are different shapes) so it’s hard for people with visual perception differences to tell them apart. Still trying to figure out how to light up the 3rd super tower. It’s possible. My brother did it. Also haven’t solved the cryptogram on the coffin…. It’s my second most used app (aside from YouTube) And the best purchase that I’ve made on my phone to this day! I love the gameplay and how there is no “hand holding” along the way. It’s just you, your thoughts and the stunning graphics. I finished the main story in a mere month, but I still play it all the time! The addition of the cave with it’s daily challenge is really fun! If anyone is confused about what it does; it gives you more flowers at a higher level in the beginning spawn. And the music is fantastic! So many games have tutorials that walk you through every little detail; it can feel like being a kindergartener. Evergarden dropped me into its puzzle and let me work out the rules myself, which became part of the fun. There’s a mysterious feeling to this game, as though it’s a single piece of some larger world. The gameplay is reminiscent of Triple Town (or 2048/Threes), combining small-valued flowers into bigger ones, but the mechanism is different. And then there’s a larger matching game overlaying that, and I’ve just gotten to some mini-games that unlock new powers and reveal bits of what may be a story...
