Everglades Topo is a high-detail elevation map for exploring the South Florida outdoors. It turns dense public terrain measurements into smart colors over satellite imagery, so subtle rises, ridges, hammocks, tree islands, banks, levees, and dry edges are easier to understand before you head out. The Everglades can look flat from the road or from a normal satellite map. But in the field, a one- or two-foot rise can matter. Everglades Topo is built from extremely high-resolution elevation data — in high-detail areas, measurements are spaced about every 3 feet — then processed into optimized phone-ready map layers. Instead of making you wrestle with complicated mapping software, the app translates that data into a simple color map: Cool colors show lower ground in the area you are viewing. Warm colors show ground that rises above what is around it. Crisp, seam-free height overlays stay sharp at every zoom — color appears only where ground truly rises. Zoom in and each tree island is outlined with its highest point labeled in feet — tap it to see how far it rises above the nearby low ground, plus island size and any secondary peaks. Nearly 58,000 app-identified high spot pins (an optional layer) point out likely natural high ground such as tree islands and hammocks — each pin placed on the exact rise the map shows. Simple controls let you fade between satellite imagery and height colors, show smaller or larger rises, and choose more possible pins or only the strongest matches. Coverage spans Big Cypress and the central Everglades through Shark River Slough, plus the southern park toward Flamingo (West Lake and Snake Bight country), the Southern Glades, the eastern conservation-area marshes, and Picayune Strand near Naples. Use it when planning a hike, paddle, fishing or hunting trip, airboat run, photography outing, or any backcountry exploration where understanding the land matters. Everglades Topo is high-detail, not survey-grade. Elevation data can contain errors, gaps, vegetation effects, water-level changes, or outdated measurements. The app does not upload your location to an ELCO server. The new **Relief** tab draws height above the surrounding ground — so a 1-, 2- or 3-foot tree island reads the same whether it sits in Big Cypress or down by Flamingo. - **Layers on the map, not in a menu.** Pins, Peaks and Lines are one-tap chips on the map. Tap a dimmed one and the map zooms to where that layer works, instead of doing nothing. - **Pins and peaks at the same time.** Zoomed in, the candidate pins and the labelled island peaks now both stay on screen instead of replacing each other. - **Go to a coordinate.** Paste or type a GPS position — decimal, degrees-minutes, or degrees-minutes-seconds, hemisphere letters optional — and the map flies there and marks it.
