## What is Everlasting Family Viewer?

Someone who loves you has recorded their life stories using Everlasting Family — and now you have them.
Everlasting Family Viewer lets you watch, search, and explore a complete family history shared with you. Browse by person, browse by question, or search across every interview at once. Every word is searchable, so you can find exactly the moment you're looking for.
Watch on your own device, any time, without needing an internet connection. The entire archive lives locally — no cloud, no login, no ongoing cost.
Family histories can include multiple people across multiple generations. As new interviews are recorded, the creator can share an updated archive with you to replace the previous one.
Everlasting Family Viewer is the free companion to the Everlasting Family app. If you'd like to start recording your own family's stories, search for Everlasting Family in the App Store.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-08-03

Your family's videos can now live on a USB drive and play directly from it — so even a large archive with hours of interviews doesn't need to fit on your phone. Connect the drive, and the stories play. We've also made playback more reliable and improved how transcripts read when you're viewing several people's answers together.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-12

This update brings richer ways to explore the family histories shared with you.
Read transcripts: every interview answer can now be read as text, not just watched. Tap any point in a transcript to jump straight to that moment in the video. Tap the search result to read it as text.
Text-first histories: some shared histories may include a person's stories and searchable transcripts without their video. These now display beautifully as readable text, so no one's story is ever missing.
Smarter updates: when you receive a newer or more complete version of a family history, the app now recognises it and offers to update — so you always have the fullest version shared with you.
