A brilliant and engrossing mystery novel with interesting characters and one of my favorite romances in any of these "choice of" and "hosted" games. There is nearly infinite replay value and it develops strong characters that you actually care about. The story is very intriguing with many twists along the way. This is easily one of the best Hosted Games that the Choice of Games site has to offer. The plot is geniunely interesting, the characters are compelling and there's multiple endings depending on your actions and relationships. I bought it thinking I would get a murder mystery situation. I was right: until about halfway through where most of the stats I had tried hard to build up were revealed to be worth nothing, including my relationships with some of the characters. I then found this game, and others by these developers and was so hooked. The imagery and emotion the writing brings is amazing. I played over and over back in 2017 to get every path, and redownloaded back in 2020 and now 2024 to do the same again. I love this game and highly suggest checking out other games by this developer! ### 5/5 — Superb *2024-09-18* I wasn’t expecting much when I downloaded this, maybe a fun but forgettable 5 or 6 out of 10 experience. Instead, I got a solid 9. The writing is excellent, conjuring vivid mental images of the people and places in the story. It strikes a perfect balance of immersion, making you feel like an active, impactful participant rather than a page-turning bystander or a gamer making up your own adventure. The developer did an excellent job of making you care about the characters and feel like you’re making a real difference in how things turn out. And while others have said the game is too short, I felt it was just the right length — and there are many more available from Choice of Games if you finish wanting more. Don’t let the text only nature of this game scare you off; this is a beautifully designed and thoroughly enjoyable experience. If the premise sounds intriguing at all, don’t hesitate to download. You won’t be disappointed. ### 5/5 — Captivatingly original *2021-10-29, version 1.0.4* I couldn’t possibly recommend this enough. It is a completely enthralling story, with such genuinely tough choices along the way - I didn’t expect to be sitting, paralysed by indecision, over what to do in a text based choose your own adventure story - and with totally unforeseeable twists and turns to the plot. It manages to avoid some of the worst cliches of the genre while being familiarly fantastical. For the price of a coffee this is so worth it and infinitely more entertaining, and replayable! ### 5/5 — Good fun *2021-05-30* Reminds me of the choose your own adventure and Lone Wolf game books of my youth. One particular appeal is the ability to define yourself in the story any way you wish - cisgender, transgender, non-binary, straight, gay, you name it, and that’s so refreshing. Between fun character building, a great mystery, and the potential for multiple relationships, this will cover pretty much anyone.
