### 3/5 — Good content-app is inconsistent

*2026-05-28, version 1.21*

Love the app, but the sound doesn’t work for me. Multiple installs, checked settings, no luck. Great for reading the content though and having it with you at all times. Really need the sound though.

### 4/5 — Update for Rites of Passage

*2026-04-09, version 1.21*

Love having all of these liturgies in my pocket. Any word on when the app will include the liturgies from the latest installment “Rites of Passage”? Would rate 5 stars if included.

### 2/5 — App not working ):

*2025-04-04, version 1.20*

As I see another reviewer has mentioned, this app was wonderful and I very much enjoyed it, but now when I go to open a liturgy I just get a black page. There is unfortunately nowhere to report this issue so I’m hoping it will be seen here and fixed so I don’t have to cancel because I really did love this app and was more than happy to pay what I felt was a very reasonable monthly subscription for it. I will be sad to cancel the subscription, but there’s no reason to keep paying for it if the app doesn’t work and I can’t read a single liturgy. Hope it gets fixed!

### 2/5 — Blank Pages

*2025-04-03, version 1.20*

I’ve been loving this app so decided to pay for all the liturgies, what was my surprise? Now I cannot see anything but the title of the liturgies, there are blank pages, no words no audio nothing but the title

### 2/5 — Pray for a functional app

*2025-04-03, version 1.20*

The EMH app worked fine for the first several months, but a recent app or iOS update has broken it. You can no longer read the liturgies you’ve paid for, and as others have mentioned, instead see only blank pages. A recent message to their support team also remains unanswered. In short: DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP!

### 2/5 — No Text - only blank pages

*2025-04-03, version 1.20*

The app worked fine for a week or so but now only shows blank pages with audio. No way to contact support. Very disappointing for a paid app.

### 2/5 — Also seeing blank pages

*2025-03-29, version 1.20*

Like another reviewer mentioned, clicking on liturgies now just brings me to a blank page. I’m not able to read them

### 2/5 — Paying for Blank Pages?

*2025-03-27, version 1.20*

I purchased a subscription to have easy access to the prayers and to share them. It was working for a few days, but now every liturgy opens a blank page. No text. I can play the audio recording of the prayer from the page, but it’s all white space and nothing happens when I click the share button. I can’t read them or share them, which is the purpose of the subscription, so now I’m losing days from my subscription due to zero content. There is no contact or feedback option to report issues either, so here I am.

### 1/5 — Please restore the one-time purchase option

*2024-02-01*

I would like to purchase these liturgies, but not as a subscription.

**Developer response:** Bundling in this manner isn’t possible. As a ministry we are doing our best to provide solid tools for our users.

### 1/5 — App Issues

*2024-01-12, version 1.13*

Love the idea of the app, have the books, and really enjoy those. Unfortunately, the app will not stay open, it keeps auto closing.

### 2/5 — A Liturgy for the Loss of My Favorite Liturgies

*2023-12-05*

In the description for volume I, it says “(Note that collections for Table Blessing, the Hours, and Liturgies of the Moment are part of Volume I, but are included with the app for free.)”
Apparently they are neither part of volume I NOR included with the app for free!!!!! :(
I purchased volume I before you added the subscription nonsense but now the Table Blessings and Hours liturgies are locked behind the subscription and I cannot access them even though I paid for them when I bought volume I! I hope this is a bug and not intentional. I am bummed in general about you moving to subscriptions but I guess that is where the world is going. Thank you for the lovely liturgies and the decent app. Please in volume 4 add a “Liturgy Before Leaving Angry Feedback” because that’s what I need.

### 1/5 — So disappointed!

*2023-11-26, version 1.11*

I own a hardback copy of volume I, which I enjoy occasionally. I purchased volume II on this app, and have loved the easy accessibility of the digital format which I use very often. I was eagerly waiting for the opportunity to purchase a digital copy of volume III. But now I have been robbed of that joy since I am unwilling to purchase the book over and over year after year. Please consider returning this app to single event purchases. The subscription approach is a big mistake!

### 1/5 — So disappointed!

*2023-11-25, version 1.11*

I purchased volume 1 years ago when it first came out. Then I purchased dozens to give as gifts. Since then, I bought both volumes digitally as well as the pocket edition and gift editions. Over the years, I have spent several hundreds of dollars on the first two volumes alone in gifts and NOW I can no longer access the digital volumes that I paid for because of an exorbitant subscription based app! I think this is unethical. I would like a refund of the digital purchase of volume 1 and 2, but I’m sure that won’t happen.

### 3/5 — Beautiful Book, Non-Functional App

*2023-07-31, version 1.10*

I own Every Moment Holy Volume I and am thrilled that they now have an app; I’ve often wondered how I might use the liturgies they’ve written that highlight the holy in the mundane when I’m unable to haul their book with me everywhere. Problem solved! And so many of the liturgies are available for free with the app! How kind. The reason for 3 stars: The app has a lovely “favorites” feature that I planned to use as a bookmark for the liturgies I wanted to use more regularly. Yesterday I marked them and today they are gone, error message “no favorite liturgy available”. Hope the bug can be fixed easily, as this is a helpful feature that will increase my likelihood of using the app daily.

### 1/5 — Please Add Landscape Format

*2023-03-08*

Awesome liturgies, but for my ministry context, I need the app to work in both portrait & landscape orientations. Thanks in advance, I’ll increase my rating (& purchase both e-volumes) when this is done.

**Developer response:** Bundling in this manner isn’t possible. As a ministry we are doing our best to provide solid tools for our users.

### 1/5 — Needs Landscape Format

*2023-02-16, version 1.10*

I need this to work in both portrait & landscape formats (I use an iPad mini 4 in a keyboard case). It’s awkward to hold my device in portrait mode, especially with a charging cable attached. Thanks in advance, I’ll increase my rating & purchase both e-volumes when this is done.

### 2/5 — Books great! App not my favorite.

*2022-10-12, version 1.10*

The books are great! Easy 5 stars to the books! The app, however, is painful to use and definitely doesn't add much to the experience.

My two main suggestions are:
- You have to log in and signing in on one device signs out of others. At least two should be supported (phone and iPad in my case)... but really I don't see why signing in is required at all.
- It's cumbersome to scroll through liturgies as you have to first "open" a section. If I know where I'm going it's not a big deal (though the "open" button is very small on iPad), but it would be really nice to just be able to scroll through everything. In general, navigation is clunky.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Please restore the one-time purchase option

*2026-01-20, version 1.21*

I would still like to purchase these liturgies, but not as a subscription.

### 1/5 — Liturgies are not available to read

*2025-04-05, version 1.20*

The liturgies are no longer available to be read. I sent an email to support but haven’t received any response. I am canceling my subscription.

### 1/5 — Love this app, but the prayers have stopped loading

*2025-03-28, version 1.20*

I love this app when it works properly, but lately the prayers do not appear when I click them, which obviously defeats the purpose!

### 1/5 — Liturgies no longer shown

*2025-03-25, version 1.20*

Clicking on any liturgy no longer shows after this most recent update. No amount of logging out/uninstalling and reinstalling the app fixes this.

### 1/5 — Please restore the one-time purchase option

*2025-02-10, version 1.19*

I would like to purchase these liturgies, but not as a subscription.

### 1/5 — Bad subscription requirement

*2024-10-28, version 1.19*

Disappointed in the use of subscription model in this type of an app. I own all 3 books and just started using them more, and was seeking a way to reference and favorite them for more easy access on my phone. Instead, it’s a $3 subscription. Don’t bother downloading!

### 1/5 — App constantly crashes - unusable and unreliable

*2024-09-09, version 1.18*

I want to love this app (I love the book series), but it barely functions.

I signed up for the lowest tier subscription ($2.99/month) to have access to more liturgies that I could reference throughout the day, and any time I try to access these, the app crashes. Try to log in to check my subscription status… app crashes. Try to access any of the features liturgies of the day… crash. Try to unlock more content… crash. It’s completely unusable.

I may try it out again after the next update, but for now, I’m cancelling my subscription and just sticking with the print.

It’s a shame and I really hope they fix it.

### 1/5 — App keeps closing

*2024-08-08, version 1.18*

I have tried to purchase a subscription twice now and every time I go to open a liturgy the app shuts down. I have zero access. Very disappointing.

### 1/5 — Requires repurchase and expiring links

*2024-05-23, version 1.18*

The content is beautiful. I own the hardback books. Why would the creators want to make the digital content impossible to access long term? Why would you make shared liturgies only available for 24 hours? Shouldn’t you be most interested in sharing the Word as freely and generously as possible?

### 1/5 — Disappearing content

*2024-02-11, version 1.14*

I actually love the liturgy and the content (I actually own the books as well). The content I purchased, however, was quickly unavailable and I am being asked to purchase it again.
As it stands, I would caution you against investing money in the app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Game changing update

*2026-08-27, version 2.0*

I first downloaded this app 2 years ago and it was terrible but it has updated about 2 weeks ago and I love the new app! It’s smooth, clean and beautiful!

### 5/5 — Honest Liturgy and Beautiful Art

*2023-06-19*

The liturgical tradition is rest for many of us who grew up in the free church traditions. Consider the free resources here and then spend a few dollars to support the project and see the rest of what has been published.

### 5/5 — Great content, improvable app

*2022-05-20, version 1.7*

These books are amazing and life-changing! Two critiques of the app: the daily liturgies don’t refresh automatically. You have to click out of that screen and back in every day. I also think that if you’ve purchased both books you should have free access to all liturgies. The app should function as access on the go.
Update just got a very courteous email, looking forward to chatting. Upping my review accordingly.

### 5/5 — Thrilled

*2021-08-04, version 1.2*

What a gift to have these liturgies at my fingertips. Already using this app daily.

### 5/5 — Yessss!

*2021-07-19, version 1.2*

I can’t tell you how many times and moments I’ve wished I had the book on me, and now I do!!! What a blessing this is.

### 5/5 — A Brilliant Work Made More Accessible

*2021-07-17, version 1.2*

The exceptional words of Doug McKelvey & compelling illustrations of Ned Bustard help point us to our Savior & Lord in book form - & now they can be at our fingertips practically anywhere on it his fantastic app. I find the Daily Liturgy Quote to be especially good, & there is far more to dig into. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Every Moment Holy Everywhere

*2021-07-15, version 1.2*

I love having the ability to have the liturgies anywhere I go!

### 5/5 — Words, Words, Words

*2021-05-11, version 1.1*

Despite what Hamlet and Ecclesiastes say, words have meaning, and words have power. Words reveal who we are, and words tell us who we can be. Words shape us far more than we realize.

Every Moment Holy laughs in the face of rhetorical complacency and rebels against our cultural ambivalence to the formative economy of words as we are given the flowering and precise language of gardening, beekeeping, reading, and sleeping.

So take this gift from McKelvey wherever you go and hear the language of the miraculously mundane reminding you that you are a beloved child of the Creator God.

### 5/5 — Access Granted!

*2021-05-10, version 1.1*

Im so excited that the book that has been so transformative in my life is accessible at my fingertips! The app version of Every Moment Holy takes the liturgies I’ve grow to love and pits them right on my phone. In turn it has provided some “holy competition” for my screen time! Bravo!!!

### 5/5 — the accessible way to practice liturgies everyday.

*2021-05-09, version 1.1*

A beautiful, simple to use app. I kept losing my book, Every Moment Holy, because I took it everywhere. This I can’t lose! While the book is so beautiful, I use this so much more when I can pull up a liturgy for a meal or moment without searching for my book.
