## What is ēVision?

ēVision is the field intelligence layer of ēfestos.ai, designed to transform how structural steel is identified, assessed, and reused.

Using advanced computer vision and AI, ēVision enables engineers, contractors, and asset owners to scan steel elements directly on-site, automatically detect structural components, and extract critical data such as geometry, condition, and connections.

Move beyond manual surveys, spreadsheets, and uncertainty.

With ēVision, you can:

• Identify structural elements instantly
Detect beams, columns, connections, and components using AI-powered image recognition.

• Measure and quantify in real time
Capture dimensions, profiles, and key properties directly from images or scans.

• Assess condition and defects
Detect corrosion, damage, and surface conditions to inform reuse decisions.

• Generate reuse-ready data
Convert site observations into structured digital inventories linked to ēfestos.ai.

• Bridge field to platform
Seamlessly sync data with ēMaps, ēDesign, and ēAnalytics for full lifecycle reuse workflows.

Built for the circular construction era

ēVision enables a new workflow: scan → understand → reuse
Turning existing structures into measurable, valuable, and reusable assets.

Why it matters

Reusing steel can save up to ~1.5 tonnes of CO₂ per tonne. ēVision makes this scalable by unlocking reliable, data-driven decision-making in the field.

Professional-grade performance

Designed for engineers and industry professionals, ēVision integrates advanced AI models with practical workflows used in real projects.

ēVision is not just a scanning tool.
It is the first step toward turning buildings into data, and data into reusable value.

## Key features

- AI-powered structural element identification
- Real-time measurement and quantification
- Condition and defect assessment
- Generation of reuse-ready digital data
- Seamless data syncing with ēfestos.ai platform

### 5/5 — Great Tool

*2026-04-20*

This is a great tool for measurements and structural detection (plates, bolts welds) and associating these with the de-fab and cleaning of them, before they are ready for be reused. Also, can be used for updating the digital twin of a steel model with capturing real records via images. This is the so-called phydital approach!

## Frequently asked questions about ēVision

### What is ēVision used for?

ēVision is used to identify, assess, and measure structural steel elements directly on-site using AI and computer vision. It helps generate data for the reuse of steel components in construction projects.

### What types of structural elements can ēVision detect?

ēVision can detect beams, columns, connections, and other structural components. It uses AI-powered image recognition to identify these elements automatically.

### Can ēVision measure steel elements?

Yes, ēVision can measure and quantify steel elements in real time. It captures dimensions, profiles, and key properties directly from images or scans.

### Does ēVision help assess the condition of steel?

Yes, ēVision can assess the condition and defects of steel elements, such as corrosion and damage. This information informs decisions about reusing the steel.

### How does ēVision handle data synchronization?

ēVision seamlessly syncs data with the ēfestos.ai platform, including ēMaps, ēDesign, and ēAnalytics, to support full lifecycle reuse workflows.

### Is ēVision available on multiple devices?

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-07-16

A big update focused on multi-organization support, credits, and the eVision workflow.

CHOOSE YOUR ACTIVE ORGANIZATION
• Pick which organization you're acting as from the user menu. Projects, the eVision queue, chat, and billing all scope to that choice.
• Open any organization from the Organizations tab and set it as active with one tap.
• If you belong to only one organization, it's selected automatically.

CREDITS AND BILLING
• New Credits screen showing your tier, included / prepaid / launch-bonus / flex balances, seats used, and burn-rate projection.
• Cost preview before every charged AI run so you always see what an action will use.
• Request a top-up without leaving the app.
• Stockist organizations now have the same credit plans as engineering firms.

eSTOCK
• New "Open in eVision" button on the Digital Passport. One tap queues the element and opens it straight in eVision.
• Tag Groups for organizing elements, with a one-tap bulk-send of a group to eVision.
• Element visibility control (Private / Shared / Public) for the donor marketplace.
• Comments on each element for team notes.
• "Donor stock" badge on projects listed on the marketplace.

eVISION
• Full shear-resistance calculations for asymmetric cellular beams (bending, deflection, Vierendeel, vertical / horizontal shear, web-post buckling).
• Element passport now surfaces reusability inputs alongside the existing dimensions.
• Connection Details include provenance (Digital Model / eVision / Manual) and refabrication accessibility so the reusability index reflects real-site constraints.

EVERYTHING ELSE
• One-shot name editing from your profile, with a lock icon once you've changed it.
• Push-notification registration now succeeds reliably.
• Fixed a certificate-pinning issue that was cutting the app off from the backend.
• Fixed a bug where every organization's credit balance read as zero.
• Send-to-queue and Open in eVision now show the result (and any failures) in-page instead of after you close it.
• Queue count on the home screen shows only your active organization's elements, from the moment the app loads.
• Projects list no longer briefly flashes other organizations' projects on cold launch.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-05-25

We've added Chat to eVision. Talk directly with your collaborators across direct messages, project group chats, and organization-to-organization threads. Send photos and files, see who's read what, and get push notifications the moment a new message lands so you can jump straight into the right conversation from your lock screen. Every project now has a Chat tab so the team can discuss a building without leaving the project view.

Your role at the top left now shows your job title from your primary organization, matching what you set on the web platform. If you haven't picked a primary org yet, that line stays hidden instead of showing a placeholder. Tap your name to see the full "Title at Organization" affiliation chip.

Also in this release: you now stay signed in across launches unless you explicitly sign out.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-05-20

The 3D viewer now focuses on what matters: only elements extracted as reusable for the asset render, with a clear placeholder when no extracted data exists yet. The ēVision queue gets a refreshed identity, with the asset card and queue list both now reading "ēVision queue", and the queue view groups elements under bold project headers with separators between projects so it's easier to scan across buildings. In ēStock you can long-press an element to delete it directly, and a multi-select Send-to-queue action lets you push a whole batch into ēVision in one tap. Plan-based feature gating is now driven by the live feature_access map from the asset detail endpoint and fails closed when unknown, so locked features never appear tappable; the gated card waits for the authoritative answer before rendering instead of flashing locked-then-unlocked. The login screens are now light-themed to match the rest of the app, and the launcher icon has been refreshed to a black "H" on the brand orange gradient.
