Most times the splash screen opens, and that’s it. Completely useless. ### 1/5 — AVOID *2026-03-26, version 4.4.2* “Charge your EV easily” I’ve tried to charge three times at £35 each, error every time. I’m now £105 down and wasted half an hour of my life. It doesn’t even recognise me when I try to log in, even though I only set up an account specifically so the app would work. Had to call for help while trying to charge in a very remote part of the west coast of Scotland. Thank god I had signal. Still not resolved the issue. Being able to bookmark charging points would be a big help ### 1/5 — The chocolate teapot of apps *2026-02-22, version 4.4.2* Without doubt one of the worst apps on my phone, which I’m in the unfortunate position of needing for my nearest chargers. It only manages to start a charge session at 30% of the time, mostly it just spins. ### 1/5 — Definitely worst app ever *2026-02-17, version 4.4.2* Would give a negative score if possible. Multiple failures and payment declines then suddenly works but only after 5 or 10 attempts. Several £££s adding up as pending payments taking days to correct. Always logs you out. Won’t let you back in even though the password is correct. Won’t even let you reset with a new password. Beyond this, the chargers are often ‘offline’ and unavailable. Best avoided if possible. ### 1/5 — Disappointing *2025-12-27, version 4.4.1* After taking £35 up front it would not charge, after 20 minutes of troubleshooting going round in circles have given up. I hope I get my money back!! ### 1/5 — Terrible App *2025-11-30, version 4.4.1* Between the app logging you out and not asking for verification codes it hasn’t sent, then sending you a code that doesn’t work, meaning you’re then locked out and can’t charge your car, OR the fact that some of the locator codes work and some don’t, meaning the charger just fails to work even though they have taken your cash, I can’t see why anyone would want to use this. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t even work *2025-10-13, version 4.4.1* It just loads the green screen and logo…gave up after 10 mins ### 1/5 — Does not work *2025-10-12, version 4.4.1* I've tried several times to set up an account, the system lets me get to the end then I get the error message with try later. Been going on a long time now. Have a charger at work I can't use. ### 1/5 — Swarco *2025-10-03, version 4.4.0* The econnect charger I tried (cartgate) did not have a long enough cable for easy connection. After lots of manoeuvres plugged in, charger does not accept simple credit card. Tried the app - does not recognise my car number plate - perhaps not a show stopper - but does not recognise the id for the station. Had to start again from scratch. Gave up. Charge points only work with the app. Useless technology implemented by imbeciles. Avoid. ### 1/5 — Clive *2026-08-17, version 4.4.2* Install the app, create the account, login, when you use the app again it’s logged out, and your stored password in apple passwords don’t work. Second thing I live in Kent, when I start the app it takes me to Edinburgh map, I have to know the charger location to get the correct part of the country, unless I zoom out scroll down then zoom back in etc, also the charger takes to long to negotiate fails and takes £30, the RFID card does not work in the reader in the rain, or cold weather, no lights around the machine so you can see, also the main machine in at the end of the row of 18 machines so if you need to use the main terminal with the RFID card you have lots of walking, then it fails to negotiate the connection then another walk, also the main machine with the RFID reader should have some sort of cover from the rain, also the machine with the reader ought to be in the middle of all the chargers, my local ones in Gillingham Business park spend more time broken, takes them 2 weeks to fix each time, it’s always the same issue, the modem in the machine, so use’s a mobile phone tech to connect to base to your money, it fails a lot, they keep repeating the same logic of repairing the same stuff we know will fail again in a few weeks. Helpdesk staff are the best ever fast and helpful. I have to use them most the time. ### 1/5 — What on earth is this *2026-08-01, version 4.4.2* This IS an active network. But they don’t have an app. Can’t sign up or search. Tried looking as a few chargers have popped up in my area with this brand. Use them via other apps as this one doesn’t work ### 1/5 — No chargers *2026-07-30, version 4.4.2* Search St Austell then cornwall then the whole of the UK apparently there are no chargers even though there are 3 sitting in the car park, obviously don’t want the business ### 1/5 — Useless *2026-07-19, version 4.4.2* Could not even register - won’t recognise my address - “Error with action?” Takes your money quick enough though without registering. ### 1/5 — Don’t bother *2026-07-04, version 4.4.2* Have tried several times to sign up to the app but no matter how many times or permutations I attempted to enter my address I would not accept and just kept saying try again. There’s only so many times you have the patience for this. ### 1/5 — Worst App for charging! *2026-07-02, version 4.4.2* I’m not even convinced this is an active network. I’ve tried connecting several times and it’s never worked. They charged me £35 for each go which is expected, but takes about two weeks to release the funds when the charge never started. A brief error pops up when it fails, but it doesn’t really explain why it’s happened. At ChargePoint locations, it usually says something is charging but it never is. Don’t waste your time. I even tried to start to charge from other apps and it’s never worked. ### 1/5 — Shockingly bad! *2026-05-07, version 4.4.2* First time ever using a public charging point and it was not easy and would certainly put me off buying an electric car if I had to rely on this as a regular way to charge my vehicle. Tap, tap, download app, some more tapping, faulty charge point, moved car to new charge point - total £140 pre pay charge and 30 mins later managed to add a total of 10 miles after charging for over an hour! This is not the future and felt a huge step backwards. ### 1/5 — Useless app *2026-05-05, version 4.4.2* It does not allow registration so you cannot use their chargers. Continuous ‘Error, please try again later’. Then going online to ‘Get in Touch’ results in a ‘you have use the maximum number of characters’ with only 30 characters. ### 1/5 — Avoid *2026-04-05, version 4.4.2* Not loading, throwing errors and impossible to charge. Waste of time ## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated) ### 4/5 — Favourite option please *2026-03-25, version 4.4.2* Use this to check if the local chargers are free, would love a favourite option so I don’t have to faff searching for the location each time ### 4/5 — Functional app, needs charging history *2021-07-19* App works well for basic functionality of finding charging points and seeing their current status - something that other companies find hard! However it would be helpful to have charging history available in-app rather than be redirected to the website. What’s the timescale for that feature, devs? ### 3/5 — A bit flaky *2021-11-24* The app is generally fine and easy to use t find charge point and start and stop charges. It seems to be a bit flaky though and fails to properly recognise when a charge has ended sometimes. I can see a previous reviewer pointed this out back in February but it hasn’t been fixed. Developers seem to have stopped responding to reviews so maybe they’ve given up. ### 3/5 — Really good when it works *2021-11-06* Great locations and logistics. There is a bug in the app 50% of the time, when you end a charge the session remains active. Although you aren’t charged, the next time you try and use the station you are unable to activate a charge as the session still thinks you are plugged in from last time. Clearly a bug with the app. ### 3/5 — Good, but has an issue *2021-02-14* Good app, would be easier if you could view your previous sessions on the app instead of being redirected to the website, seems an obvious thing really to include. Also the app crashes sometimes when I end a session, and my last session always gets stuck on active and doesn’t go away. Logging out and in does solve it though, please fix!!!
