## What is Evolve?

Evolve makes the time you spend on your phone something you decide on, rather than something that happens to you.

Pick the apps that pull you in. Evolve blocks them. When you want one, you hold a button, and one unbroken hold earns you one minute. The second minute costs more than the first, and the third costs more than that. A quick check stays cheap. An hour never sneaks up on you.

There is no way to talk your way past it, because there is nothing to talk to. No streaks, no points, no badges. Just a price, paid in the moment, in full view.

WHAT YOU SEE

Where your day actually went, hour by hour, and which apps took it.
A block screen that names the app you reached for and counts how many times you have reached for it today.
Your real screen time, drawn by Apple on your device.

PRIVACY

Evolve collects nothing. There is no account and no server. The apps you block, the time you hold, and how you spend your day never leave your phone.

Evolve is built for people who already want to change, and it does not pretend to be unbeatable. If you are determined to get around it, you will. It is here for the moments when you are not.

Every minute should feel earned.

### 5/5 — Effective

*2026-10-04*

I’ve tried many different ways to reduce my time scrolling and wasting time on my phone. This Evolve app has been by far the best!! It’s not easy to bypass so it implores you to be patient and this delay makes you realize how meaningless distraction is unnecessary.

### 5/5 — Easy to use and really helpful!

*2026-10-03*

I’m a busy mom and never thought of myself as someone who struggled with social media habits. But lately, scrolling on Instagram before bed had turned into an hour or two every night, cutting into my sleep.

I’m not very tech-savvy, so I was initially intimidated by downloading an app to help. Evolve has been surprisingly easy to use, without any complicated setup. My nighttime scrolling is now down to about 15 minutes. I’m really loving it!

### 5/5 — Evolve

*2026-09-25*

It really helped me limit my screen time, I liked how if I wanted to look at something quickly I could approve screen time super fast

### 5/5 — Saves me so much time!

*2025-12-08*

This app is incredible, it actually reduced my screen time. I’m able to have 24/7 access to any app I want which is different from other screen time apps, but I am much intentional so I end up saving a ton more time! I’ve tried so many other apps but this one even though it’s not as popular works 10x better in my opinion. My screen time on social media went from 2 hours a day to less than 30 minutes a day now! And I’ve only been using it for a week

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.1 — 2026-09-29

Make Evolve yours. Six color themes for Hard mode: Evolve, Onyx, Forest, Bordeaux, Ocean and Ember. Your theme carries through the app, your charts and the block screen. Tap Unblock to unblock, or hold it to add more minutes. The quote on the Unblock page now shows in full and stays up between holds. Clearer permission screens. Small fixes throughout.

### 3.0 — 2026-09-24

A whole new Evolve.

- Three pages now: Home, Apps and Unblock, with a new look everywhere.
- Easy and Hard modes. Easy keeps your holds to a second. Hard is the full price.
- In Hard mode, choose whose quotes you see (Philosophers, Scripture or Founders) and write your own message for the block screen.
- A heads up 30 seconds before your unblock ends, so you are never cut off mid sentence.
- End an unblock early and your unused minutes come back.
- A new opening animation, and a monthly chart that loads more reliably.

### 2.1 — 2026-09-13

Bug fixes.

- Your dashboard now shows only your phone. On phones in a Family Sharing group it could mix in other family members’ screen time.
- The block screen is now readable in Light Mode.
- The Screen Time permission button now tells you it’s waiting on Apple instead of looking frozen.
- New in onboarding: a short demo of how Evolve works.

### 2.0 — 2026-09-10

Evolve is rebuilt from the ground up.

Hold to unblock. Instead of typing a reason, you hold a button. One unbroken hold earns one minute, and every minute after that costs more than the last.

A new home screen showing your real screen time, your most distracting apps, and where your day actually went.

A new block screen that names the app you reached for and counts how many times you have reached for it today.

A new setup that shows what your screen time costs you, measured in months of your life.

### 1.4 — 2026-01-22

New and improved app UI
Better usability and smoother performance
