### 3/5 — 80% there

*2026-05-23, version 5.2.24*

Ive used the app for a year but have decided to cancel my subscription.
This is a good app if you just want to do the exercises as decided by Evolve on the days decided by evolve.
I've tried to adjust the app about 20 times to fit around what I want to do but it keeps reverting or just won't.
For for example, I want to train three times a week but alternate upper body and lower body but it won't let me do that and the certain exercises that I can't do my Jim and I change it on the system only for it to revert back to the old exercises again.
I do love the way it incrementally increases the weight, but when I try to adjust the rep ranges as I prefer to do slightly less than Evolve wants me to do it doesn't like it
Overall, it's handy because it's on your phone, but I'm reverting back to old school pen and paper so that I can achieve the workouts that I have time to do rather than what Evolve wants me to do

### 3/5 — UI needs work

*2026-05-11, version 5.2.24*

Programming is… adequate for what I need. I enjoy not having to plan it out myself. The app is genuinely poorly designed. It’s complicated to use, not clear on where settings are or what they change. I’ll constantly end up in menus with no way to back out of them or simply a black screen, requiring a full app restart. The poor app interface is making me consider canceling my subscription. Update: I cancelled my subscription after writing this review after the app broke multiple times during my next workout.

The app doesn’t take into account any of my inputs regarding sleep, soreness, etc. stating I barely slept and am incredibly sore will have the same workout as if I stated I got 10 hours of sleep and feel like a god. It also doesn’t take into account my preference for low vs high reps.

In the current update version there will be a program setting to “select workout” that when clicked gives me a blank screen with the only option being “view all workouts”. Why am I PAYING a workout planning app to simply build the program myself? Even when I do select a workout, I am not taken back to the program page but have to manually back out of the 3 menus deep.

In the program planning the app will state is it giving me “low reps” and recommend 12 reps in a set. Additionally, it will state in the warmup planning it is building for RPE 7 for 6 reps and the actual plan will state RPE 6 for 5, among similar glaring issues that point to low quality control.

### 5/5 — PR’s at age 60

*2026-03-27, version 5.2.20*

I have been using Evolve for about 16 months and powerlifting for 8 years. Since I started using Evolve I have hit PR’s at virtually every meet. Love this app and the flexibility to modify the plan is very helpful. Next up is USPL Raw Nationals!

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-02-10, version 5.1.53*

Didn’t want to review here but they’re deleting my message on discord. Used the app for over a year. The programming sucks. Ascending RPE and ascending sets while periodizing accessories and keeping them below RPE 8, who does that? Always felt sore and still not putting on muscle. Only way to make progress was gaining a ton of weight. Won’t be renewing again. Cheers

### 1/5 — Deceptive free trial

*2026-01-08, version 5.1.53*

When finished filling in the initial intake questionnaire, the app asks you to click to continue to get 3-day free trial, get I was charged IMMEDIATELY.

### 5/5 — Evolve

*2025-10-02, version 5.1.31*

Can’t change exercises since the update

### 5/5 — Sensational

*2025-07-14, version 5.0.11*

Currently using the app in preparation for a powerlifting meet & I can’t be more pleased. The UI is very friendly & the team behind this product are very helpful.

The overall format, from layout of the sessions to exercise selection, are great!

### 2/5 — Evolve still needs to evolve

*2025-06-29, version 5.0.11*

This app definitely needs more work. I selected the “Equipped” program. The app starts you off too heavy based on your max effort. If you are starting after a competition, your body is tired and you need to ease back into heavy training. Next, they have warmup weights for accessories but not for the main lifts. What? Next, as I selected Equipped, the app gives you no idea as to when you need to jump into gear. Finally, the app gives you no means to contact anyone for help or guidance. Juggernaut AI is far superior at this point. Wait for this app to mature another year or so

### 3/5 — Repetitive, restrictive, and stale

*2025-05-27, version 4.4.7*

I’m going to say that after a short amount of time my progress stalled substantially. I think doing a relatively short hypertrophy block, followed by a long succession of strength blocks where a very heavy single is performed almost every workout, Is just dumb. ESPECIALLY for bench press. I regret not quitting sooner. I stuck with it for a few full cycles and just didn’t make progress. You literally never go to failure, don’t hardly do any rep max attempts, there isn’t really nuance in regards to the differences between the big 3 lifts. It isn’t really AI, just a seemingly simple formula. The warmup is weird and unnecessary. One annoying thing, and an easy fix, It doesn’t allow you to include supersets in the powerlifting program. Like I know it’s already in the app, so if I feel like super setting some arms or core stuff, that should be an option. Also I feel like they could expand the exercise database a bit. Also, way too many deloads than is necessary. Also, I don’t always feel like doing a full survey before working out. Also, the fact that you’re hardly ever pushing it is a major limiting factor and makes training extremely boring if everything is always 2 RIR. Also, the AI should be more complex with the advancements being made right now. Cmon, we can make something awesome with a sick AI coach that can talk to you and help manage your fatigue and get to know your personal preferences for training way better. I felt like I was the one programming the App 80 percent of the time, creating new exercises (which is actually a good feature not gonna lie), editing set and rep schemes based on mood, or going to failure because I was really in the mood to push it. I get that nothing is perfect but I feel like anyone who has used the app for an extended amount of time could come up with some simple and very constructive criticism and would make the app at least a little better. It’s just decent. Not like the worst programming but just bland and formulaic. It’s marketed as this highly scientific program tailored by elite level coaches and that is just not the vibe I’m getting. For context, I switched programs to one from a specific powerlifter, which seems highly nuanced with very thought through undulating block periodization, and more variety to keep things fresh, and my bench has skyrocketed, squat has creeped up, and deadlift has finally started to overcome the plateau evolve AI brought to my doorstep. Sorry for the rant, Y’all actually did help me hit 315 on bench so I will thank you for that

### 3/5 — Best app for powerlifters

*2025-04-18, version 4.4.7*

But sadly most of the time when you try to start a workout it crashes and can’t open that workout plan for the day which is why juggernaut is better cause it doesn’t crash
