I barely start to type in the product I’m searching for and a new box appears. Chill, we love you and we are using you to make our lives healthier. A few can be found if I physically type it in , but the app needs a lot of work and information input. ### 4/5 — A few recommendations *2026-08-17, version 5.0.6* I do love this app however I do have a few recommendations to implement into the app to make it even better • Manual barcode entry (sometimes I’m searching online and want to know about a product that isn’t in the database yet) • Specific ingredient filters, not just broad categories. For example, I would like to filter out products that have phenoxyethanol or sodium laureth sulfate specifically. • More broad filter options, like the ability to filter out or prioritize ingredients that aren’t/are malassezia safe. • Still show the ingredient ratings for EWG Verified products. This app has phenomenal potential and critical information, but it has a long ways to go until it will be truly meaningful for me. Out of the ten common items I scanned in my house, one was in the database. Thanks for that! ### 4/5 — Wish there were half stars… *2026-08-03, version 5.0.5* I’ve been using this app for about a decade and the recent upgrades are appreciated!…I love that EWG not only rates for human health, but also dangers to the environment so I can factor that in to my decision-making… there are products not in here, of course but that isn’t the app, that’s an issue with how many products are out there and there being only so much time to review and add stuff, but you can suggest items and there’s already a large number of products. If you see that all the XYZ products by a brand have a certain rating you can look to see what they have in common and check to see if the item you were hoping to find has the same ingredients and make an educated guess…. I would appreciate the filters being a drop-down so I can search easier (particularly brands) and some extra filters (like to filter and/or sort by fragrance or ingredient), but I may one of the few who would want that…unfortunately, there are a lot of dupes of products and sometimes the formulation year is noted in an obvious place, but otherwise you have to go in to the product to scroll down to see when that product was most recently available to get an idea for which formulation you have. I don’t know if this would be app design, people responsible for updates or just better need for oversight. It’s DEFINITELY not a deal breaker (yeah, I use the free version), but would make my searches easier and less time consuming ### 5/5 — Great resource *2026-08-03, version 5.0.5* This is a great resource as I switch to nontoxic healthier products. Please fix this! ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work *2026-06-23, version 5.0.4* Doesn’t scan ### 1/5 — Rating seems to be flawed calculations. *2026-06-19* I had high hopes for this app on helping me make good choices for my family after seeing it when reading about the “dirty dozen” list. With strawberries at #1 on the list I was curious how organic strawberries were. Driscolls organic strawberries were 1/low hazard. But then I noticed driscolls strawberries were 1.5/low hazard! And then when you click through it notes in the negatives #1 in the dirty dozen list. Why would it be rated low hazard if it’s a high hazard per their own list! I also looked up a few varieties of all purpose spray and noticed the kind I bought was a high hazard but a different fragrance was low hazard. Turns out the other fragrance wasn’t better, it was just that those items weren’t rated, so the rating was assumingly based on the one category that was rated. Now there’s a lot more tho they all give you different results which is very confusing. Anyway, this EWG app is now the worst of all, it just doesn’t work. Only 1 out 20 things you scan will have a rating but from 2016. Really?? Also their camera doesn’t zoom so if the barcode is small again it won’t work. I wish they charged but made their database work as it should . For now it’s just useless. You make it so difficult to look up anything, and constantly bombard me with requests for donations, which makes me very skeptical of your true motives. I am retired and live on a fixed income and can not afford to donate, but I did like to come on here to be able to make healthier choices. Cannot search for products cannot scan a barcode as promised. It remains in a frozen state. Have tried for several days on my iPad to get it to work - but no luck !!
