Mobile gaming has progressed and without controller support, games are limited. Too many games are released to really give this a solid go. The thought of a premium, turned based rpg that is premium is so attractive and exciting, unfortunately without controller support in the day and age limits gameplay for hardcore mobile gamers. There is no doubt that admiring this game is a genuine visual feast. Additionally, we players likely have a preference of buyout instead of in-game purchases. Adding characters with the development of plots avoids excessive money paid to fulfill the needs of alternative gacha games. Hope such game will become the majority of application market.Since it is a purification of commercial trends, I convinced firmly that this game deserves all strong support, drawbacks though it has. (See Edit 2 - tl;dr Reinstall fixes start screen lock) *2026-06-16, version 1.3.0* [Edit 2: If you’re stuck at the start game loading screen, my only solution was to reinstall. Resource download and shader compiler load bar may not be showing, but it didn’t matter how long I waited. A fresh reinstall fixed the issue so I can play again, no update needed. Be sure to back up your saves via cloud going forward, if you haven’t. I still stand by my 5 star rating btw, game’s awesome] (Edit: game gets stuck at intro loading screen after iOS 26, so needs an update to work.) It’s been great playing this. Think honkai star rail (not that I’ve played the game - but the core theme of 3D turn based exists with both games) but different. I really like the world-building, it feels nice to learn about the world (albeit can be challenging to keep up if you ignore lore tidbits), and has classic turn based combat but with modern elements found with games of this type. The combat so far seems quite simple yet complex - you can spam attacks and win but knowing which attacks work better in what order vs what enemy, as well as understanding key mechanics such as grouping enemies together or breaking their stagger threshold (there is a proper name for this but I cant recall as of the time of writing) which aids in synergy. Unfortunately the NPC’s in the game so far seem to be quite generic similar to other 3D games of the same anime genre (think genshin impact npcs which stand and dump boxes of text) but I have yet to progress far enough to come to a fixed conclusion about them. I do like the cutscenes and voice acting however, both are very good and of industry standard I would say. It definitely adds to the immersion somewhat as I can feel myself in the game. Not sure how the game gets later on as I am still quite early in (Only have 3 party members) but I am excited to play more. Thank you very much, looking forward to the DLC ### 5/5 — Très très belle surprise *2025-07-31* Dans un océan de jeux gatcha freemium avec des graphismes de fou et un gameplay vu et revu, Ex Astris est un ovni... oui le jeu coûte 10 euros mais vous avez entre les mains un VRAI jeu. J'ai longtemps rempli ma bibliothèque d'apps de jeux moyens mais gratuits, et toujours profité des promos pour payer le moins possible, mais ce jeu vaut tout à fait son prix, sans débat. Il est très beau, très inspiré avec peu de fautes de goût, et le gameplay est novateur pour un rpg au tour par tour, il est semblable à clair obscur expédition 33, posé et tactique dans les choix offerts, mais aussi nerveux et opportuniste dans les contres et les combos. Un détail que j'aime aussi beaucoup c'est le codex qui se remplit d'entrées à chaque monstre, personnage, item, ou concept étrange rencontrés, qui expliquent joliment un peu plus le lore du jeu. Le seul point noir c'est la connection internet obligatoire, mais j'imagine que la lutte contre le piratage a un prix, et pour en avoir abusé dans mes jeunes années de jailbreak je me plie à la tâche avec bonne volonté.
