## What is ExcerSnack?

ExcerSnack taps you. You do the exercise of the day for one minute. You're done. Back to your life.

And those one-minute sessions — repeated throughout your day — turn out to be as effective as going to the gym. Five independent meta-analyses and 27 randomized controlled trials keep arriving at the same answer: exercise snacking works. It improves cardiovascular fitness, builds strength, lowers blood sugar, and reduces blood pressure. In some cases, it outperforms a single continuous workout.

*** No gym. No equipment. No obstacles. ***
At your desk, in your living room, in a hotel room. In workout clothes or whatever you're already wearing. If you have a minute and the desire, the research says you have everything you need to get fitter, stronger, and healthier.

HOW GOOD IS THE SCIENCE?
91% — Adherence rate for exercise snacking
1.43 — Effect size for VO₂max improvement
60s — Minimum effective session duration
11 — Compound exercises, all movement patterns

*** That 91% figure is the one that changes everything. ***
Traditional fitness programs retain 40 to 50 percent of users at six months. Exercise snacking — the approach ExcerSnack is built on — retains nearly double that. Not because of gamification or streaks. Because sixty seconds fits into any life.

HOW IT WORKS
1 — Your Watch or iPhone taps you. At whatever hours you choose, ExcerSnack delivers today's exercise. One tap to start.
2 — Go until you can't. No counting. No targets. Work until your muscles say stop. Rest 15 seconds. Go again. Repeat until the timer ends.
3 — Get on with your day. The app manages rotation, scheduling, and progression. You only do a minute at a time. You can do that.

THE EXERCISES
11 exercises. Six movement patterns. Zero equipment.

• Squat
• Plank
• Reverse Lunge
• Glute Bridge
• Push-up
• Wall Sit
• Mountain Climber
• Inverted Row
• Side Plank
• Superman
• V-up

Every major movement pattern is covered using nothing but a floor, a wall, a desk, or a chair. Three skill tiers per exercise — Anywhere, Standard, and Advanced. You start where you are. You advance when you're ready. No pressure, no algorithm pushing you forward.

The exercises rotate on a 13-day cycle, which means the routine always feels varied and fresh. Monday is not always squat day; the exercises move days over time, keeping your routine fresh.

THE BOTTOM LINE
The fitness industry has oversold a version of health that doesn't fit how most people live — the perfect body, the perfect diet, the hours at the gym. ExcerSnack was built around the minute you do have, and the science that says it works.

One minute of exercise, repeated throughout your day, decreases blood sugar, raises VO₂ max, builds strength, and improves cardiovascular fitness. The research is published. The adherence numbers are real. Now see how it works for you.

### 5/5 — Approachable and doable

*2026-05-10*

I actually do this at my job and find it’s easy to take 60 seconds once an hour to get a little movement in. I feel better at the end of the day and have more energy. I’ve only been at it for two weeks but I think it’s a habit I will keep because the time commitment is manageable.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-08-05

- Your full workout history now restores from Apple Health when you reinstall or switch phones — not just the last 30 days
- Connecting to Apple Health now shows progress while your history is restored, and the connection screen no longer stalls if the Health prompt doesn't respond
- Deleting your account is now truly permanent — erased history stays erased, even after a reinstall
- The top difficulty tier is now called "Advanced" (formerly "Performance")
- Onboarding polish, including a refreshed Solution screen

### 1.3.1 — 2026-06-15

Handles overnight schedules now.
>>> Your "day" is defined by your schedule, so snacks from 10 PM to 6 AM count as one "day".
>>> Snack reminders, skip-a-day, and totals all sync to your "day".

Fixed plank animations.
>>> Plank and side plank are stationary in the standard tier.
>>> Updated descriptions to reflect the stationary nature of these exercises.

### 1.3 — 2026-06-09

FEATURES

 - Sound and haptics on iPhone during snacks. The same start, halfway, warning, and completion cues you've had on Apple Watch now play on iPhone too — useful when your phone is propped on the floor or against a wall during a session.

QUALITY OF LIFE FIXES

- Independent device control. New Settings → Feedback during snacks lets you turn audio and haptics on or off separately for iPhone and Apple Watch. Working at your desk? Silence the phone but keep the watch.

- Apple Health permission, right from Settings. The new Apple Health row shows whether ExcerSnack is logging your workouts. Tap to grant permission if you skipped it during onboarding, or to open Settings to change it.

- Snack notification status, right from Settings. Same affordance for notification permission — see whether snack alerts are Allowed, Denied, or Not asked, and tap to fix it without hunting through iOS Settings.

- Clearer Settings labels. Cleaned up wording throughout: "Length" instead of "Session length", "Snack alert sound" instead of "Notification sound", "Reflection check-ins" instead of "Reflection notifications", "Feedback during snacks" instead of "Session feedback." If you had labels memorized, sorry — they're better now.

- Difficulty is easier to find. Moved to sit right under Schedule.

- Onboarding demo matches the real thing. The try-it-now squat during onboarding now plays the same audio cues as a real session, so you hear what you'll hear before you commit.

BUG FIXES

- Fixes. A handful of small bugs: a fresh install on a new iPhone signed in to iCloud no longer silently disables the notification sound. The phone's audio session no longer ducks your audio during the 3-2-1 countdown when feedback is turned off.

### 1.2 — 2026-05-27

— Introducing the Anywhere tier — chair and desk exercises so you can snack on movement without leaving your seat.

— A refreshed onboarding flow shows you exactly what your first session looks like, with a live preview.

— Behind-the-scenes hardening so your session history remains safe..

### 1.1.2 — 2026-05-08

Updated notification system:
>>> Three reminders per "Snack" session
>>> Spaced 15-minutes apart

Each notification allows users to:
>>> Start Snack (do exercise)
>>> Snack Later (dismiss the notification)
>>> Skip Snack (dismiss all notifications until next Snack)

The ability to pause and unpause all notifications remains
