### 3/5 — Device Works. App is Bad

*2026-08-01, version 5.0.4*

After 10 months of therapy the mild to moderate sleep apnea is virtually gone. Sleep scores are consistently good and I can’t remember the last time I awoke with that feeling of gasping for air, it’s been months.

My only complaint is the app experience is totally at odds with my experience with the device. I’m not getting any glitches or issues anymore but it’s just such a subpar app relative to today’s standards. It has the feel of apps that are connected with companies barely making it and not able to afford real progress and refinement. Or alternatively, just don’t care about client experience at all. It’s a shame because the device seems to have real value. I hope this changes for the better in the future. Would be great if the app was a positive attribute and not an impediment.

An example of poor quality is the reaction time feedback test. I have yet to make it to the end of a test without it stopping responding to tapping on green. Works for some time then gets less and less responsive, then just doesn’t respond at all. I keep hoping it will work till the end because it is fun and might supply some useful feedback, but no such luck.

### 2/5 — Device works but app not helpful

*2026-01-11, version 5.0*

There is no battery level indicator and the battery died in the third session not the 4-6 indicated in the directions. Feedback is only available in a few areas. What is the reaction time test, how does it work?

### 1/5 — Terrible app but device is unusable without it

*2025-11-07, version 5.0*

Just got the device and the app is terrible. Unfortunately, you have to use the app to control the device. I’m on day four and it keeps telling me I have to do a checkin survey. I don’t want to, but I acquiesced and did it. I can’t get past the survey - just keeps repeating with no way to move forward and start the session… seems like they hired offshore third rate devs to build this and did zero QA or any kind of usability.

I just want to do my therapy, reliably, every day…not garbage surveys, not app bugs to get started… this is a real medical device and not some undergraduate project from a third rate third world university produced by the last place team… very frustrating.

Update: it gets worse. Updated my phone and there’s no way to delete the device and rebond the Bluetooth to it (which you have to do in a new phone…)

There is like zero quality control on the app.

### 1/5 — Terrible all around

*2025-10-29, version 5.0*

The app is terrible and constantly stops working. I’m on my 3rd device because the other 2 stopped working. The manufacture said it was most likely the mouthpiece, so they sent me a new one. Turns out it was not the mouthpiece, it was the actual device. After several months of waiting the new device will not work because there is no access code. Stay away from this device.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-10-20, version 5.0*

Hasn’t worked ever since the iOS 26 update. To make a medical device like this reliant on software to work is so crazy. It needs a simple button you can push to activate it: it shouldn’t be reliant on a Bluetooth connection just to run.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2025-10-12, version 5.0*

I’ve had the device for 2 weeks now and it’s never worked. App says it won’t connect.

### 2/5 — Issues

*2025-10-09, version 5.0*

Can only b used 1x Within 24 hours so if u use it at 11 pm u cant use it again until after 11 pm the next night.if u r tired and want to go to bed earlier than 11:30pm u cant . each session should be available any time of day without having to wait 24 hours.
And the charge doesnt last long either.

### 1/5 — This app is terrible

*2025-09-25, version 4.4*

The device may or may not help me sleep apnea but I guess I’ll never know since the app is required to operate the device and the app only works about every 3rd of 4th day. Very frustrating.

### 1/5 — DOES NOT WORK FOR IPHONE 17 PRO

*2025-09-24*

I was excited to get started with this device as I really hate CPAP machines. Unfortunately I got it at the same time as I got my new iPhone 17 Pro, which it never is able to complete the pairing process, even though it is able to discover the device just fine in the app. I tried it with my old phone and it works just fine. I reached out to support about this a week ago, and have not heard anything back from them.

### 3/5 — Unreliable session counting

*2025-07-26, version 4.4*

You’re supposed to do a certain number of sessions over a 90 period or something like that, then maintenance mode 2 days a week… but then it just loses count so every week you basically it’s like you’re restarting the program all over again.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2025-07-21, version 4.4*

I am unable to use the device because the app is broken. That is ridiculous given the cost.

When I try to start a session a mandatory survey is instead displayed. After I complete that, I get a thank you message and a return to the Home Screen. If I try to start the session again, I just get the survey again. An endless loop.

Restarting the app does not help.

### 2/5 — App is improving

*2025-04-23, version 4.4*

Aside from the very cheesy “you can do this” comment, the app doesn’t do very much to actually support your journey.
First, the setup was incredibly frustrating as there was no code sticker on the device for initial setup, and you had to contact customer service to get the code. That is the initial barrier to treatment.
The second issue is that the device gives you no “deadline” date you must complete your initial treatment by. Yes it is within 60 days, but it doesn’t exactly help by omitting this information and just telling you a completion date.
Third is that there is no way to view any other portion of the app while in a session. Meaning the only time you may be opening the app for usage, they won’t let you use it. It seems incredibly counterproductive.
Fourth, there is no diagram of exactly where placement should be, I understand it could potentially different based on individual anatomy, but a few pictures of what is ideal would prove incredibly beneficial.
Lastly, if the device is required to be connected to your health organization, why do they not help setup automatic notifications with your organization of when the device needs to be replaced. This seems like a missed opportunity considering the systems are now linked.

Overall, I think the app has some aspects that can be significantly improved. Functionality for me has been easy and intuitive. However, there are some missed opportunities and silly flaws that could definitely impede care delivery.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2025-03-11, version 4.3*

### 1/5 — Terrible app but device is unusable without it

*2025-03-10*

### 1/5 — Waste of money terrible app

*2025-02-06, version 4.2*

App crashed lost all my data now I’m out $1450 dollars I have a device I can’t even use. While in use the results were doubtful and it really triggers the gag reflex. DO NOT BUY!!! Would give negative stars if I could.

### 2/5 — So disappointing

*2025-02-06, version 4.2*

Today the fully charged device would never connect with the app and kept saying I was offline. Everything else on my phone was connecting, but not this. Messages through the app would not submit. Deleted the app and reinstalled - or at least tried to, but I got a log in error of some sort.

### 2/5 — Buggy big time

*2025-02-06, version 4.2*

Frequently struggles to even load. When it does, it’s not uncommon to spend 20mins doing therapy only to have it unrecorded so you have to start again. Could be a great product if they addressed all the bugs.

### 2/5 — Good device, absolutely horrid app

*2025-02-05, version 4.2*

The app sometimes doesn’t let you do therapy because it says you already did it that day (not accurate).

The app’s servers will go down meaning you can’t log in and can’t do therapy.

If you are sometimes outside of an internet connection, no therapy for you! We had an internet outage for a few days and have bad cell service at home, and was 100% not able to do therapy.

Pretty ridiculous that this device is pretty much DRM’d. This is an unserious medical device.

### 1/5 — Awful AI support slop

*2026-07-19, version 5.0.4*

The AI help feature is useless and the human support escalation nonexistent.

### 1/5 — App makes compliance difficult

*2026-06-29, version 5.0.4*

App has been terrible for me. Here’s why…1. There is a compliance schedule, but the app does not tell you what it is and it is hard to find elsewhere. Miss too many days of treatment, and you are reset to the beginning without explanation. This is a PITA because electrocuting one’s tongue for 20 minutes a day any more than necessary stinks. (App should state compliance criteria clearly at beginning of therapy so users are fully informed) 2. App requires internet. This is a problem if you are trying to continue therapy while in a remote location or don’t have internet access.
Miss too many days and you will be reset. (App should allow offline therapy for a period, syncing later when internet is available) 3. App only warns of low battery as you start therapy, so you must charge the unit instead of doing therapy at the desired time. It’s a problem if you don’t have time to do therapy later that day as you lose a day for compliance. (App should proactively warn at end of session that battery is too low for next session.) 4. App has frozen just before completing a session, so I lost a day for compliance as I was not going to suffer through another 20 minutes of zapping my tongue after already doing it for 19+ minutes. So, now I restart therapy at square one for the second time because of these issues. Not pleased!

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2026-06-17, version 5.0.3*

Bought this and used it maybe 3 or 4 times. Forgot about it and 90 days had went by so now it says I have to buy a new one forcing me to spend another 135 bucks plus for a new mouthpiece that I barely even used in the first place. What a scam of a product.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t connect

*2026-06-16, version 5.0.3*

The app doesn’t work kn the latest version of iPhone. Support just says they are working on it but it’s been almost nine months. Don’t bother until they update the app.

### 1/5 — Don’t buy - doesn’t work

*2026-03-20, version 5.0*

As many others have said, you need the app, but the app text message verification process is broken.

### 1/5 — Don’t buy this!!!

*2026-01-21, version 5.0*

The other reviews are accurate. The app doesn’t satisfy the basic use of the medical device. My iPhone14 has sporadic connection problems that prevent session completion. I upgraded to an iPhone17 and it’s STILL unsupported altogether.

### 1/5 — Non Operational

*2026-01-07, version 5.0*

I just got my device and it won’t even connect on a brand new IPhone 17 Pro

### 1/5 — Waste of Clever Idea

*2025-12-17, version 5.0*

This another example an innovative hardware being vapor garbage as the app dev team fails make it usable. It started a couple of months ago with dropping connection occasionally. Now it can’t hold a connection for 20 minutes it’s designed to. Given every excuse from customer service. I know their hands are tied, but I’ve this for less than year and getting almost zero support. Should just release a manual version that doesn’t require the app. I’m told it’s an issue iOS 26, but no software update for 60 days come on

### 1/5 — Trash app with trash customer support

*2025-12-03, version 5.0*

1) you can’t use the device without the app
2) the app is absolute trash. Seriously I don’t know how they made such a buggy app
3) the bugs in the app can make it so you can’t progress, but you NEED to progress in order to get to the “maintenance” phase of treatment.
4) customer support is really ONLY in-app chat. But the in-app support chat has NO way of doing a follow up reply. So there’s no way to correct their misunderstanding of the situation. They’re also just really unhelpful, and make the most obvious suggestions.

This app exists solely to force you to buy new mouthpieces every 90 days. It’s an electronic lockout to a $1k+ medical device.

This company does not deserve your money. They clearly spend almost zero on the app. They spend almost zero on customer support (and the replies are clearly AI generated despite taking 24-48hr to respond). The device itself is extremely cheaply made.

This is planned obsolescence on steroids and honestly should be illegal. If this company went bankrupt, I wouldn’t even care despite the fact it would effectively brick my $1k investment.

### 1/5 — Avoid

*2025-11-20, version 5.0*

Company doesn’t honor their 30 day money-back guarantee. Customer support is nonexistent

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I’ve had great customer service

*2026-05-02, version 5.0.2*

I appreciate ANYBODY who is trying to make an alternative to Cpap. Some of us poor miserable souls are desperate for a good night’s sleep and Cpap just makes us feel worse every morning. It is too soon to tell yet if this device is helping lower my apneas. However, I’ve had great customer service. The app worked great at first, then stopped working after my phone updated. I emailed the company and called them and they mailed me a new device that works with my phone. Very much appreciated.

### 5/5 — Love this product.

*2025-04-01, version 4.4*

Has made such a difference in my sleep quality and the app is easy to use!

### 5/5 — Works for me

*2022-08-19, version 4.0.1*

Been using ExciteOSA for a year. The new app updates sure make it easier to track my therapy. This device cut my snoring down and I have more energy which has been missing for many years. I didn’t want to commit to wearing a mask with that cpap machine so glad this helping.

### 5/5 — Great for a medical device
