【ストーリー】
いくつもの不思議な事件を解決し、有名になったレイトン。
ある日、彼のもとに一通の手紙が届く。
差出人は未来のルークからで、
10年後のロンドンに来て、彼を救ってほしいというのだ。
ルークのイタズラかと思っていたレイトンだが、
一週間ほど前に起こった事故を思い出す。

それは、レイトンのほか、
多くの著名人が招かれたタイムマシン完成記念式典でのことだった。
式典のさなか、タイムマシンの爆発事故が発生。
イギリスの首相ビル・ホークをはじめ、
多数の行方不明者が出る事態となった。

この爆発事故との関係性を疑ったレイトンは、
ルークとともに手紙で指定された場所、
ミッドレント通りにある時計店へ向かう。

時計店に到着したレイトンとルーク。
時計店には見上げるほどの巨大な時計があり、
店主によると何か仕掛けがあるらしい。
レイトンたちは止まっていた時計を修理すると
巨大な振動とともに、時計が動き出した。
揺れがおさまり店の外に出ると、
そこは、先ほどまでレイトンたちがいたロンドンとは異なる場所だった。

10年後のロンドンに来たのだろうか？
調査を始めるレイトンのもとに
未来のルークからふたたび手紙が届く。
手紙の場所に向かってみるとそこには、
年老いたシュレーダー博士の姿、
そして変わり果てたレイトンの車があった。

驚きつつもさらに調査を進めるレイトンの前に、
ついに未来のルークが姿を現す。
そして、彼の口から驚愕の事実が告げられるのだった。
