## What is ExoSphere?

ExoSphere is a creative tool for shaping continuous ambient and meditative compositions, based on five independent sound layers that merge into a seamless atmosphere. It provides an effortless way to create a foundation for ambient tracks or even a complete background piece with minimal adjustments. Designed with slow rhythmic structures in mind, it is especially suited for meditative music and calm soundscapes.

At the heart of ExoSphere are five complementary sound elements, each contributing a distinct dimension to the evolving sonic environment:

Core - Deep, evolving drones that anchor the listener with resonant low frequencies, creating a grounding presence in the body.
Flow - A layer reminiscent of an instrument, voice, or choir that forms the harmonic foundation of the composition. Gentle shifts its color and pitch, creating a subtle drifting detune that feels fluid and alive.
Grain - Layers of stretched environmental fragments - whispers of wind, water, and space - that envelop the listener in a textured, atmospheric sense of place.
Shard – Fleeting melodic fragments that surface and dissolve unpredictably, like echoes of imagined songs, sparking shifting associations and evoking transient images.
Glow - High, sparkling tones that flicker like light on water, bringing brightness, clarity, and a gentle radiance to the soundscape.

Together, these layers interweave into a living, breathing composition that never feels static. The result is a continuously shifting atmosphere - equally suitable as a meditative backdrop, a creative foundation for ambient production, or a complete standalone piece.

Each layer in ExoSphere is sample-based, giving the user complete freedom to define the sonic palette. You can load your own samples into any of the five layers, tailoring the sound to your personal style and creating highly individual, versatile compositions. For a quick start, ExoSphere also includes a built‑in library of curated samples, offering ready‑to‑use material that can instantly generate immersive atmospheres.

ExoSphere offers an easy start with a minimal interface: choose a factory preset and quickly refresh it by replacing samples, adjusting presence and tone. You can create new variations with the advanced randomizer, while detailed panels provide full control for those who want deeper customization.

ExoSphere is a universal application for iOS and macOS. It can work on iPhone and iPad as well as Mac / MacBook with M1 chip (and later). ExoSphere works on iPhone and iPad standalone, as an Audio Unit or Inter-App Audio module, and supports Audiobus and Ableton Link. On MacOS, ExoSphere can works both as a standalone application and as an Audio unit (AUv3) with DAWs and other hosts that support AUv3 plugins. ExoSphere has a built-in detailed description of all parameters also available as PDF file on the application site.

### 5/5 — my long overdue ode to Igor's latest brilliance

*2026-08-03*

at the very beginning of my sonic exploration and crafting journey, one of my absolute first downloads was Igor's renowned BeatCutter. I was hooked for life, and I cited him as my 'favorite' experimental music developer ever since.

Exosphere was oozing and ready to scald fresh out of the oven. it's not-your-auntie's sample looper boasting 4 slots that'll plunge you through Dante's levels while lull you to the moon simultaneously. with multiple parameters per engine, the choice is yours wherever you seek to travel.

he includes a generous amount of shipped samples and presets—further allowing the choice to import your own as well—securing the knot on yet another masterfully executed release from the lord himself. look no further than any releases from his catalog. his artistic brilliance is without bounds.

### 5/5 — Magical

Another epic app from one of the best devs imho. This is so much fun and so well designed.

### 4/5 — Cool ambience generator.

*2026-04-13*

I’ve used this developer’s FieldScaper app for a long time and loved it, despite the challengingly complex UI.

Exosphere does what it does pretty well, but I would really like to see CPU optimization: I had an AUM session with this app and a few others and CPU was maxing… and this is on a new M5 iPad Pro. Once I removed it the processor percentage dropped to 7% lol.

Of course you can just bounce down stuff but that’s not always an option if you’re playing live, for example.

### 5/5 — Super!

### 5/5 — Just beautiful

*2026-04-03*

If you are a fan of soundscapes then this is the app for you.
I was thinking of getting the Elmyra 2 but this app just goes above and beyond. May just sell my Strega and get lost in the choirs, glitchy samples and strings. Thanks Igor. This one is a gem!

### 1/5 — Impossible to use on iPhone!!!

*2026-02-08*

ALL OF THE TEXT, all of it, is too fricken small to read!! ALL OF IT! I can’t believe you would do that! What a ripoff. The is the first time since the App Store existed that I am going to request a refund. Seriously, I have lost all respect you all. The text look like horizontal lines the text is do small. Dumb, real dumb. Surprise, surprise, surprise, Apple’s report a complaint doesn’t work. I’ve had with rotten Apple and the ‘junk’ they collect their 30% on! Over the last year, this is only the third purchase from Apple I’ve made. All three are ‘unusable’ for unreadable text. Just because Apple says the app will run, but not that you can actually use it! Lesson learned. No more app purchases. Dumb double-digit IQs are destroying both us and our world.

### 5/5 — Splendid

*2025-12-29*

yet another spectacular
app from Igor Vasiliev

### 5/5 — One of his best

*2025-12-10*

I own all of his apps and some are far superior to others. They are all special, but I have to say that this is my favorite app out of them last four I have purchased. Ease of use and preloaded sounds are stellar. Love it

### 4/5 — fun 💚

*2025-12-09*

2 other requests to perfection adding:
-UNIVERSAL REVERB DRY WET
-individual gates, a universal gate

### 5/5 — Yes, another winner

*2025-12-04*

The apps that this developer produces are not for those who like a steady four-to-the-floor and a melody hook. They’re not for everyone. But they are for me. The amount of exploration and infinite adjustments to every single parameter is simply amazing. For those, like me, who really love creating their own soundscapes that are out of this world, this is a great addition. I saw the maker’s name and it was an insta-buy. Fantastic.
