Parfois, il était même difficile de s’arrêter le temps d’une photo. Ce serait bien de prévoir un peu plus de temps à Cascais et Obidos, tout comme à Nazaré là où il y a des plages. La 2e partie en Algarve était plus libre et nous avons bien apprécié. Nous recommandons fortement le jeep tour à Monchique. En somme, un superbe voyage avec des guides passionnés et plus que compétents! Hotels were adequate and excursions made great by Allan and his enthusiasm… our second leg had some hickups…. Sound system on the bus was not working properly and as a result Gerry our guide could not be heard well and it was a monotonous drone of what we were seeing from the bus. Lunch spots twice were at gas stations not something I do at home let alone on holiday…our driver Helen, was very bossy and unaccommodating… not helping with bags etc and stopping at places that accommodated her not guests. I had to insist at a castle spot that we at least get out… we had 10 minutes….we passed a couple of lookout spots never stopped… we liked our holiday but I felt I needed to let you know of issues… to me these are very easy fixes that would make it outstanding ### 4/5 — Ireland *2026-06-04, version 5.10.0* This trip was amazing. The guide Jerry and driver Eric took excellent care of us. I would recommend it to everyone looking for the experience of Ireland. We did need better communication with exotica at the start. One hotel could certainly have been better and we had one long day in the bus. But all in all it was amazing. I would definitely book with them again. ### 2/5 — Indonesia 20 days trip *2026-05-31, version 5.9.1* Unfortunately this trip was not well organised from they one of the trip. The main problem was organising The movement between the different type of islands which basically looks like a zigzag moving from A to c coming back B and then from B to D and so on. Also the guides were not very well equipped however we only had 3 guides on three days of the trip and that‘s it. Also I booked my flight separately however my group had to organise their return on the last day to the airport paying from their own money. The hotels were fairly okay but none of them reached the standard of four stars. The entire trip was extremely expensive which I could do exactly the same paying only 60% of the price if I organise it myself. I have communicated my complaints to the head office and they promised to look into it . meanwhile I have to say I'm not going to join any group holiday in the future. ### 3/5 — Égypte 2026 *2026-05-19, version 5.9.1* Très beau voyage mais j’aurais aimé plus de transparence sur les heures des excursions. This is the first time it happened to us by Exoticca. We went to the meeting place, no one was there, they knew our Flight number and arrival time. We are usually greeted upon arrival with Exoticca signage. We called contact person, no answer. We contacted Exoticca, the agent said there’s some confusion to go ahead and get taxi to our hotel and Exoticca will reimburse us. While in Taxi the contact person called us however we are already in our hotel. ### 5/5 — Well-Organized Agency *2026-05-12, version 5.9* Initially, I was nervous about using an agency I found online, but I wasn't disappointed at all. The service was door-to-door: they picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, hotels, and tours. This made the trip worry-free. Over 13 days, we visited several towns, staying and exploring along the way. The guides were punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable about Peruvian culture. I definitely recommend and will be using Exoticca again. ### 3/5 — Italy trip *2026-05-02, version 5.5.2* For our first trip it was just ok, tour was fine, tour guides were not the best. Our first tour a walking tour, at the end of the tour, we were left to find our own way back to the hotel. For the amount we paid, and ended up riding the subway in Rome. The local guides did not give any opportunity to use a bathroom or stop to give anyone a chance to do anything. The Vatican/sistine chapel felt rushed, and by the time you got to the chapel it all looked the same. The tour was supposed to include St. Peters Basilica, it did not and were left to our own devices once again. Venice tour was nice but we didn’t get to go inside the cathedrals. However was nice and one of our favourite stops in Italy. I was not overly impressed with the whole tour and the hotels were subpar compared to North America. The exception was the Venice hotel, it was a very nice hotel. ### 5/5 — Japan trip *2026-04-29, version 5.5.1* Just came back from our Japan trip. We used Exotica for this trip. I’m glad we did. Great company and great communication. They had everything booked for us. Everything went well. Definitely will be using them again for our next trip. Every place felt vibrant, beautiful, and full of character. The experience was genuinely “wow” from start to finish, and it reassured me that choosing this trip was absolutely the right decision. The organized tour made everything smooth and worthwhile, and I truly feel the experience was worth every penny. Morocco has so much to offer, and it’s one of those destinations that stays with you long after you leave. If it’s not already on your travel wishlist, it definitely should be. ### 3/5 — Meh *2026-04-25* At the point where I booked everything was great. The customer service was excellent, the information provided was detailed and that’s where it ends. After that initial conversation I was never EVER able to connect with a live customer representative again! I was put on hold everytime I called and never reached a live person. My initial flight itinerary was changed without my permission and was given two horrible options to choose from or I would be charged for “change of flight” fee even though i didn’t make the changes. The option took me 20 hours round trip OUT of the WAY. So I flew PAST Japan to connect in Hong Kong to then fly BACK… The “chat” could never respond with answers to simple questions. Would I use it again - maybe but I would definitely make some demands upfront. Very very frustrating. However, the hotels were decent and the train connections were easy enough. The airport-hotel connections could have been made easier and included in the price especially upon arrival to a country you’ve never visited or speak the language. ### 4/5 — App is as good as the people behind the seen update do. *2026-04-18, version 5.4.1* Our app information was updated the day of travel. The return date was wrong from the day we purchase. The hotels were confirmed 2 days prior of departure. My payment said pending the whole entire time even though it was paid entirely the day we made the reservation. Other than that it gave us all information needed. ### 3/5 — Trip to Japan *2026-04-16* Overall we have had a good experience with Exoticca. It works if you are a very independent and self instructed traveler. However for our trip to Japan, Exoticca failed to tell us that the flight from Newark to Tokyo was with United Airlines, while all the information and documentation they sent us was from All Nippon. That cerated a big hassle and headache looking for the correct counter at Newark airport for our departing flight. We eve had to change terminals al Newark and could have lost our flight. Luckily we knew better on our trip back to Newark and went directly to UA in Tokyo. Another detail is that Exoticca bought the cheapest tickets for our international flights and you cant select seats. These are assigned to you when you get to the counter at the airport. My family of four were assigned different seats in different sections in our departing flight to Tokyo. That was not nice at all 🫩. The rest of our experience was good. Difficile de parler avec quelqu’un au téléphone et lorsque que tu réussis à parler avec quelqu’un, cette personne ne peut jamais gérer la problématique et te répond qu’elle envoie une requête . Puis après quelques jours réponse avec un email. Pas d’agent attribué à ton voyage ce qui fait que personne est au courant lors d’appels . Puis on te demande de les contacter par whats app qu’il y a quelqu’un pour tr répondre 24/24 mais c’est l’intelligence artificielle qui te réponds et ce n’est jamais pertinent ou aidant . Au contraire très frustrant de ne jamais avoir de réponses claires. Plus jamais je ne ferai affaire avec Exoticca. On m’a vendu un voyage de rêve , le vendeur m’a certifié que le voyage était fait pour que tout soit facile avec les bagages, mensonge aucun service de transport de bagages inclus. Bref j’ai fait confiance à la personne au début et bien sûr je n’ai jamais plus été capable de reparler à cette personne. If you email them, don’t delectable a response for two to three weeks. Seriously…DO NOT BOOK with them!!!!! ### 1/5 — Worst trip ever *2026-05-17* I have traveled with exotic, many many times. By far this was the worst. I usually book everything myself but this time I decided to book it with an agent. I asked if this is an independent tour and I was told this is escorted partially. We didn’t have any meet or greet with any tour agent. It was very confusing. We didn’t know where to go who to meet where to meet. Even though the location of the meetings were told on the itinerary, but since we didn’t know who our contact person will be at the meeting point it was very confusing. I had to contact exotica myself to figure out what’s going on. The hotel in Florence looked like a jail house. This was not 3.5 star. This was less than two stars. The fridge wasn’t working. The hairdryer was belonged to World War II the shower was a mess. The AC wasn’t working and it was really really hot. The hotel in Rome also the fridge wasn’t working and the safe. The funny part is the package says superior. Nothing was superior about this trip. We had some older people on the tour that they were so lost and confused. After traveling to Greece with Exoticca, I decided not to ever travel with Exoticca again, but I wanted to give it one last chance. But I’m done. I’m never going back to Exoticca. This was really bad and the store was not cheap at all. Also, not to mention since my luggage was unsent from Frankfurt to Rome my ride did not wait. He said he had another assignment to go to. Our experience was frustrating, stressful, and ultimately very costly. Flight Cancellation, No Support When We Needed It Most:
Our flight was canceled with no communication from Exoticca. We only found out when we arrived to check-in. While standing at the airport desk, trying to avoid missing critical connections, the “24/7 emergency” support line was an automated bot promising a callback within 24 hours. Completely useless in a real-time airport crisis. Because accepting the airline’s voucher for a next-day flight would have caused us to miss our non-refundable transportation to Machu Picchu, we had no choice but to purchase last-minute tickets with a completely different airline at a cost of $440 out of pocket. Over 10 days later, we still had not been contacted by Exoticca at all. Let alone regarding reimbursement for the $200 in the cancelled flights tickets or the $440 in replacement flights we had to purchase ourselves. One of the primary reasons to book through a travel agency is for support during disruptions. In this case, we were left entirely on our own. Disorganized Itinerary & Poor Planning
For the price we paid, the itinerary was shockingly vague or nonexistent . Exact times were rarely listed, making it nearly impossible to plan daily logistics (what to bring, when to eat, how to prepare). There was excessive unstructured or “free” time that felt more like lack of planning than intentional flexibility. Our final two days were completely unplanned in a city we had already toured extensively. Our return flight wasn’t until midnight, yet we were required to check out of our hotel at noon. A late checkout should have been arranged or at least offered. Seating Issues
Despite being on the same booking with the same last name, we were seated separately on both flights and trains multiple times. This is basic coordination that should not be overlooked. Machu Picchu Experience – Poorly Explained & Rushed
Our visit to Machu Picchu involved over five hours of travel, yet we were only given approximately two hours onsite and saw only a portion of the complex. The circuit system was never properly explained, and we were randomly assigned a circuit. We would have appreciated the option to select our preferred route — and would have gladly paid extra to access more than one circuit had that been offered. Chronic Transportation Delays
Drivers were consistently late, at least 10 minutes every time, and once over 30 minutes. This added unnecessary stress and made us feel disorganized throughout the trip. We paid a premium expecting professional coordination, clear communication, and support in emergencies. Instead, we experienced: No live support during a canceled flight $640 in unreimbursed out-of-pocket costs Disorganized logistics Vague itineraries Poor communication Rushed major attractions We are still waiting for reimbursement and accountability. Until Exoticca resolves these issues and compensates us appropriately, we cannot recommend booking with them. ### 1/5 — Worst experience ever *2026-01-31, version 5.3.1* From beginning to end the entire process was a complete nightmare. Had to call the so called 24 hour helpline several times and no answer. No help with flight issues and cancellations. Had to re book every flight out of pocket. No reimbursement. The car rides were not private and took hours longer than the itinerary due to the drivers not knowing the destination. This company is a low budget hustle game that will take your money and run!!! This has been our 5th booking with Exoticca and our third time in Africa . We have previously booked luxury packages and also charm. We have had nothing but a blast in each one of our adventures. When things were required to be fixed we had access to what’s app while on our trip . However seldomly needed to use it. This was an amazing trip - prior we have done similar trips with Tanzania / Zanzibar as well as South Africa . This time it was only the safaris in Kenya. From Amboselli, Lake Naivasha, Crescent Island & Masai Mara . And from the beautiful hotels to the food, the guide / our driver Peter was amazing!! Since we had been there before, we thought this time around might be a little less impressive. However everything surpassed our expectations. It was planned well and all the hotels were booked with experiences in mind. Visually we were surrounded by wildlife; it felt so exotic and yet safe, each place was unique. We had the best service at each place, whatever we wanted / needed; was taken care of. We cannot wait to book the next adventure soon !
