This app has lots of potential, demonstrated on my iPhone, but won’t run on my iPad Pro where the larger screen would be a boon. **Developer response:** Hello, thanks for taking time to feed back to us and for the kind words! User interface is awkward Charts you buy are missing all notes and tidal info. Not good enough **Developer response:** Hello. Sorry to hear that you are having trouble. Firstly, you can see the Notes if you go to Settings/Show-Hide. You can then control what information appears on your screen. The Tidal info is also available this way (switch on Chart info). Secondly, we will do all we can to fix the problem with the crashes, but we need a little more information from you. No mosaic/tiled feature to seamlessly transition between maps and zoom levels. Would be 100% with this feature! ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2014-05-21* Unfortunately it doesn't work on an ipad2 with an external gps. I wrote to the developer but got no reply. I have the paper charts and thought this would be a great chart plotter. It might be but not for me. I have another chart plotter app which works fine with my external gps. Interface un peu compliquée ### 1/5 — Pas de carte, *2014-05-06* seule l'application est gratuite. Peut-être faut-il, mieux, le préciser car elles sont payantes, elles. Une étoile puisqu'il n'est pas possible de ne pas en mettre. ### 4/5 — Marques de balisage *2014-04-18* Votre produit fonctionne très, je l adopte tant pour naviguer qu'à terre. Juste une remarque, il y a deux systèmes AISM de balisage, A et B Vous offrez que des marques rouge avec cylindre ou vertes avec cônes pour le marquage de balises. Il s'avère qu'aux caraïbes, par exemple, c'est l'inverse. ### 1/5 — pas de carte ?? *2014-03-20* désolé mais qu une étoile pour le moment car je ne vois aucune carte marine mais que les contour de l Europe grossièrement dessiné !!! je ne vois aucune carte a ajouter ou autre ... ou alors elles sont bien cachées ### 4/5 — Bonne App, simple et agréable à utiliser *2013-12-17* Bonne qualité de présentation. Les outils (Way points, distance, ...) sont faciles à utiliser et efficaces. Manque plus que les courants, qui sont sur UK, mais qu'on attend avec impatience sur la France. Encore un point à améliorer : la présentation de la bibliothèque de cartes, un peu lourde. However the app crashes too frequently to be of any practical value. As soon as downloaded the Eastern Mediterranean chart I realised that this Imray charts is light years behind, say, the Navionics equivalent. It would not be safe to sail with the above Imray chart as many, many, essential navigation points are missing- Isolated Danger Marks, Cardinal Points etc. I immediately sent an objection/Problem Report to Amazon and , to their credit, Amazon have issued a immediate refund. Sad but true- these Imray charts regrettably appear to be out of date and seem to do Imray’s reputation no good at all. ### 1/5 — Eyewatering Chart Prices *2017-12-03, version 3.68* Sadly very overpriced charts. Doesn't cover what it claims and not many charts. What a waste of coin and time. Not user friendly. Coming from a Navigating Officer I would strongly not recommend this product. £50 down and now removed from phone after half hour. **Developer response:** Hello, sorry to hear that you're not satisfied. Where is it? £37 for charts that aren't complete is a bit fraudulent in my opinion. Back to Navionics it is then ### 1/5 — App upgrade all chart disappeared *2015-06-25, version 3.31* Never to waste money on app again! ### 1/5 — Poor in comparison *2015-05-17* Was an early adopter, couldn't change over charts as they changed the app. Was told "tough luck, buy a new one". Not impressed went to a competitor and now can compare....which this looses the battle quite definitively! Thank you for your support! ### 1/5 — Misleading *2015-03-16, version 3.31* Theses charts £37, look good value, however what I downloaded, West UK and Ireland don't include Liverpool approaches, which is my core sailing area. Except that if you use the apple 3G S iPad & iPhone models they do have full GPS capability without additional hardware. This software has taken us all around the Irish Sea, England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland and the IOM. It works so well on the Apple platform that it's very useful for sorting out the deviation errors on our magnetic compasses fitted on the boat and auto helm. Using too our Garmin & VHF/DSC we have constantly confirmed Lat/Long positions. For the price of the iPad and the software which comes with a mind boggling number of charts I don't know how the traditional chart plotter suppliers can justify their prices. Five stars from me, just hope we can move to a small subscription for annual chart updates. Great product, great value for money. **Developer response:** Thank you for your review. Just navigated from Ipswich to Baiona without a hitch just remember iPads don't have gps they rely on cross referencing wifi hotspots,useless at sea. Bought a bad elf gps plug in ( worth every penny) installed a 12v outlet on the binnacle,didn't let me down once, even in heavy seas a day out of finistere. Turns an iPad into a very efficient chart plotter at a fraction of the price of a touch screen upgrade.I really can't recommend both this and the bad elf highly enough. **Developer response:** Thank you for your review. I have just used this app for the first time, for a weeks cruising in France and a channel crossing. For 30 quid, which gets you over a hundred charts for the channel, the value for money is excellent. The GPS works well, and I am slowly working out how to use the numerous features, some of which I don't actually need. I can't blame the app for a lousy manual, and now I've got used to it, it's a fantastic five stars. **Developer response:** Thank you for your review. Thank you for your support! ### 4/5 — Keeping up to date *2017-05-22* I have used this app many times. I use it concurrently with my electronic plotter and the cross referencing gives me a check for any potential input mistakes. The display is better than my plotter and of course I can mount the iPad near the helm should I need it. Useful and accurate enough when in unfamiliar harbours in low and good visibility day and night. Like any navigation tool it is by definition complex and any time spent in familiarisation is never wasted. My biggest gripe is the updating of the charts. The current set listed as available are still 2016. Not good when up to date charts are so important. Whatever the problems, an experienced chart provider should do better and it reflects badly upon Imray in this case. I like Imray charts and products, and this shortfall is out of character and needs addressing ASAP or the app should be withdrawn until this updating shortfall has been addressed. Subsequent to this initial review Imray have contacted me to explain that they have already identified the update shortfall and will be issuing a new app that works on a similar system expected by June 2017 Clearly Imray are responsive to supporting their apps **Developer response:** Hi Stefan, thanks for update to your review. Having sat down at home for a couple of hours at home, I now understand how it works. The competitor Navionics is easier to use but not as rich: won't let you overlay AIS, for example. Moving between charts is not automatic, but you just need a single tap to see which charts are relevant. Well worth the money. A few things do need improving: the manual, the font size on the instrument panel, the size of current position. I think you only get today's tidal info unless you buy Imray Tides Planner as well, but I would recommend that even if you only use Navionics. Thank you for your support! ### 4/5 — Great coverage of the Caribbean *2015-05-11* The charts cover from Porto Rico to Trinidad & Tobago. Except for the detailed chart of the Spanish Virgin. We have it on both our iPhone and iPad. On the iPad it really works as a chart plotter. With the GPS it show quite precisely where you are, which can be very handy. It does lack a good manual, so the learning curve is a little long. So, four stars because of the lacking charts and lacking manual.
