## What is ExpoShift?

Build next week's schedule in minutes — then get back to running your floor.

ExpoShift is scheduling, team management, and facility maintenance built for restaurants, by people who've owned, operated, and managed restaurants. If you run one or two locations, you don't need an enterprise workforce platform with a three-week setup. You need the schedule done before the dinner rush — and one place where your team, your certifications, and your equipment aren't scattered across a spreadsheet, a group chat, and a printout taped by the POS.

Most operators are up and scheduling in under 10 minutes. No IT. No training. No credit card to start.

SCHEDULING THAT FITS A RESTAURANT
• Position-based scheduling — servers, hosts, line, expo, dish, or whatever your floor actually runs
• Auto Draft builds the week for you — start from a template or last week, and the engine fills every open shift around availability, time off, preferred hours, and who's qualified for the role
• Guardrails built in: no double-booking across positions, and minors are never auto-placed outside legal work-hour limits. Nothing publishes until you say so — you review, adjust, post
• Copied last week and inherited conflicts? One tap re-assigns just the problem shifts and leaves the clean ones alone
• Hand a shift to a teammate or put it up for grabs — staff sort out coverage themselves, with manager approval where you want it
• Availability and time-off requests in one place, with submission deadlines you set and automatic reminders before staff miss them
• Every claimable shift visible to every qualified teammate — nothing slips through a group text

CERTIFICATIONS, HANDLED
• Track food handler and alcohol-service cards with expiration reminders — no more expired certs discovered by an inspector
• Photograph the actual cards and pull any of them up in two taps when the health department or liquor authority walks in
• Export compliance reports for local and state agencies straight from the app

YOUR BUILDING, MAINTAINED
• Build a preventive-maintenance plan for your whole facility in under ten minutes — hoods, walk-ins, fryers, grease traps, water heaters, and more
• Code-required service intervals included, with the citations that back them
• Assign tasks to one person or several — first to finish clears it for everyone, and reminders escalate as due dates near
• A running service log with costs and vendors — the paper trail your fire marshal and insurance adjuster actually ask for
• Equipment records with serial numbers and service contacts, so 2am breakdowns start with a phone number, not a search

YOUR WHOLE TEAM, ONE APP
• Team directory with roles, contact info, and certifications
• Built-in chat: direct messages and team channels, with drafts that survive a mid-message interruption
• Updates, polls, and a monthly newsletter to reach the whole crew without a bulletin board
• Recognition built in — spotlights, shout-outs, and rewards that help you keep good people

MANAGER AND ADMIN CONTROL
• Set your scheduling rules once — ExpoShift holds the line every week
• Approvals routed to the right manager, and admin control over exactly what each manager can do
• When someone leaves, one flow reassigns their shifts and their maintenance tasks — nothing falls through the cracks

WHY OPERATORS CHOOSE EXPOSHIFT
Enterprise platforms are powerful — and they make you pay for it in setup time, training, and features you'll never touch. ExpoShift does the jobs you actually need done: next week's schedule, your whole team, your certifications, your equipment. Ready before the dinner rush.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.9.0 — 2026-08-29

The wage-intelligence release — the biggest owner upgrade yet.

• Compensation dashboard: real hourly earnings (wages + tips) across the team, top earners, and who's due for a raise
• One-tap raises with suggestion chips — and a private "You Got a Raise!" celebration card delivered to the employee (no amounts shown; their My Pay has the number)
• Labor cost on the schedule: what this week will cost before you publish, actuals as punches land, week-over-week comparisons
• Sales & Kitchen Insights, built from your weekly POS report uploads: category mix, top items, server leaderboards, and custom rankings — check averages, tips per hour, upsell attach and more
• Kitchen ticket times: the service curve, station pace, slowest items, and the longest waits of the week
• Managers now see the insight reports; pay stays owner-only
• Overtime priced your way: weighted average or rate-in-effect
• NEW: Managers Red Book... this one never gets lost or torn up. Easily communicate manager shift notes no the team is always on the same page.
Plus fixes and polish throughout.

### 2.6.0 — 2026-08-27

Photos in chat. Snap it, send it. The walk-in temp log, the busted door gasket, the way the line should look before open — some things are faster to show than type. Tap camera icon in any conversation to attach a photo. Photos are private to the conversation they're sent in — a DM photo is only ever visible to the two people in that thread — and managers keep moderation control.

Team roster counts. Position filters now show how many people are in each group, so you can see at a glance you've got 4 cooks and 2 hosts before you build the schedule.

Plus small fixes and polish.

### 2.5.0 — 2026-08-26

Auto Draft now schedules one shift per person per day — doubles stay your call. Unassigned shifts nobody can cover are flagged so you can fix them before publishing, and double-shift alerts are easier to spot (now on mobile too). New Quick Study shoutout for fast learners. Plus fixes: forms no longer lose your typing mid-entry, and account activation makes the email-verification step clear.

### 2.4.0 — 2026-08-24

Daily schedule notes: pin a note to any day and the whole team sees it in the week view. Federal holidays appear automatically. Also fixes the app-icon badge sticking after you've opened the app, makes certification report exports match your active filters, and alphabetizes staff name lists throughout.

### 2.3.0 — 2026-08-20

Per-school calendars for student staff: set each school's year and breaks, assign schools to team members, and under-16 scheduling limits follow each teen's real calendar automatically. Plus clearer hour targets during school weeks and small fixes.
