Have tried more than 15 so far and none of the others have the functionality ExpressDictate has. Compatibility with Apple Watch would make it perfect ### 3/5 — Still crashing just after loading *2016-02-05* Used to work OK but after a recent update it shows a title page for a few seconds then exits to the icon screen. Used rarely before but now deleting it. Using 8GB iPod touch. ### 3/5 — dont upgrade *2015-05-23* the app is the best out there so if u are a new user, get it! that said, if u have the old version and up grade ull have to pay $5 for unlimited recoding and additional $5 for voice activation an additional $5 for removing the ads. i personally wouldnt have minded upgrading with ads to support the developer for the great job they did but $15 is a little too much. make the app the old way and sell it for $5 and ull get lots of customers ### 2/5 — Liked older version way better *2015-02-25* I updated this app and lost all of the functions I used it for. I lost the voice activation and unlimited recording time. Updates should improve an app not limit it's functions, having previously raved and recommended this app prior to the update I must say I am feeling a bit cheated. ### 4/5 — Great except iOS7 *2015-02-03* Brilliant app until I stupidly upgraded my iPhone4 to iOS7. Now sending dictation by email (which is the main reason I use the app) doesn't work properly... Please, please can we have the promised update?? Update: the latest version now works well and email sending has been restored... Thank you! Next on my wish list is Dropbox integration. Thanks for that knobbers ### 1/5 — avoid at all costs! *2014-09-15* if you are a happy user of the previous version of this app, called pocket dictate, turn off auto updates as soon as you can and do not upgrade to this version. the vendor lists 'bug fixes' as the reason for the update. rather, it is a money grab. it will break the app severely, requiring you to pay to get rid of 'ads', which include a nag screen that pops up every single time you hit the record button and makes you wait a few seconds before you can continue your work--not an ad, just a screen urging you to buy the app. i can't believe this isn't in violation of app store rules, to pretend it is an update but to severely cripple what was previously available for free. and by the way, when you run the update it will delete all your old files without warning, so be sure you have sent them somewhere. if you pay for the in-app purchases, which we did, it's not all fun and games after. the new version is full of bugs. they stopped auto-incrementing the file names. every user in our company who has installed it has the beginnings of their dictations cut off (and this is most likely because the programmer put in a delay to allow for the nag screen for unpaid users of the app, so every time you hit record the app goes and searches for proof of purchase). they added more options for file format, but if you use the DCT format and need encryption, you have the option between a much poorer quality file with a smaller size, and a higher quality file that is huge and takes a long time to send anywhere; the previous options were just fine, so there's no rationale for pushing us to these two extremes. the free version of pocket dictate was great, and we would have been happy to pay for it had they offered it for sale. i would pay for it now if they offered the old version exactly as it was. but the way they've gone about the upgrade is awful, and whether you pay or not you're getting an app that is much worse. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Hängt sich ständig auf *2023-09-22* Umsonst bezahlt für ständiges Aufhängen an den Funktionen und kein Weiterkommen - sowas braucht man wirklich nicht und rausgeworfenes Geld ! Freezes, skips and scrambles. Not worth the download. ### 1/5 — NCH express dictate *2015-02-25* Stops recording unexpectedly at 10 minutes. Worse than useless. ### 1/5 — DON'T UPDATE to 5.81 if you have Pocket Dictate *2014-10-08* This may cure bugs with 5.80, but it still removes voice activated dictation and charges you to put it back again, limits the length of dictations and charges you to restore unlimited dictation, and it adds advertising and charges you to remove it again. (It doesnt add DropBox integration which would be a desirable feature worth paying for.) It basically has the same effect as 5.80!which is to cripple a previously great app. Luckily I was on the lookout for these issues after a previous negative experience. ### 1/5 — Update of the app stinks! *2014-09-26* The old version was fantastic. It was user-friendly and reliable. The updated version is worthless. I can't get it to deliver my dictation despite getting a message that says it has been delivered. It is no longer intuitive to use--none of the functions are where I expect them to be. And, I have to pay to get rid of the ads. Es ist die einzige Software, die man problemlos mit dem Smartphone bedienen kann und bei der man dann in Sekunden schneller auch die erstellte Datei weiterleiten kann.
