Most of the troubleshooting info seems to be for desktop users, rather than smartphone. After several emails from very unhelpful customer service operators, they told me that there is a known bug, and that they have referred the issue to their developers, but do not have an estimate of when the issue would be addressed. I asked for a refund, and they told me I had to ask apple. Worst money I've ever spent. **Developer response:** Hello, we apologize for any issues this may have caused. Thanks ### 1/5 — Poor upgrade *2018-07-17* The new update has major flaws. When creating emails with larger files they are split up just like in the old version. The problem is that if a second email is required to send more files it doesn’t not load or send these. Example was when I tried to send a dictation. The first email with loaded 1-3 of a total of five files and sent fine. The second email that used to load automatically with files 4 and 5 does not load. The auto on voice feature also does not work anymore. Very disappointing as the old version worked great. I will be switching if this is not fixed ASAP. 7-16-18- Still no fix for the above problem. It's the worst app ever. Major bugs. Needs a lot of work. Hope there are better alternatives out there. ### 1/5 — Do not update to this version if you have any stored recordings *2015-11-24* This version has a major bug and will corrupt all stored recordings if you try to play them back. It appears to erase every recording made on previous versions if you try to play them back in your iOS devise. We lost multiple recordings with this upgrade. Tried to call the company, but unless you pay them extra money they will not talk to you. This is a major bug problem. ### 1/5 — Frustrating *2015-09-09* We originally used the free version, which was great, but since moving to the pay version things have gone seriously downhill. Apart from the splitting of files noted by other reviewers, our biggest frrustration (there are a number of users of this app in our office) is that when you send it for typing it often 'loses' the first half of the dictation, meaning you have to do it again or fill it in manually. I've tried sending a bug report, but have never had any response from them and I haven't seen any bug fixes advertised... ### 1/5 — Cutting files *2014-09-30* After updating from pocket dictate to the express dictate paid version I am having serious problems when sending dictations via FTP or email. When I send files they are cut, the received files are either missing the beginning or the end of the audio file. I have tried numerous different settings and I am not able to consistently receive dictations in their entirety. For example I have recorded files in the app that are 5 minutes long which I can play and hear the entire dictation, however after sending, the recipient will receive a shorter file with random parts missing. The frustrating part is it just seems to be random sometimes it work and sometimes it doesn't. The old app worked just fine, with no issues. If anyone knows how to resolve this please help, I have called and emailed NCH support numerous times, after spending thousands of dollars on their express delegate suite this is the customer service I get. The only reason I'm giving 1 star is because there is no option for 0! Stay away from this company. ### 2/5 — Needs update!!! *2015-11-20* This app has been very glitchy since recent iOS update. App stops recording randomly on its own and has resulted in loss of dictations when the user is not aware that the app has suddenly stopped recording. This app needs to be updated asap or it is just not functional. I sent a bug report, and removed and reinstalled the app but the problem keeps happening. Help! ### 2/5 — Semi Disappointed *2015-03-30* The simplicity of the app is great, we have been using express dictate on PC's for a long time and this app for £7.99 could make life easier right? Not quite, I'm affraid. As per a previous rating, after 10-12 minutes, the dictation splits in to two and so on. When there is a long dictation it will then have to be emailed in byte sizes and this is with the setting on the bottom quality and .wav size. Appart from that, the support for the app is nonexistant, you go around in circles to find any kind of support. Again, very disappointing. The app itself is quite straight forward and easy to use for different levels of technical people, but the length of dictaion allowed, even though buying the professional version says unlimited dictation size and the nonexistant support for the app, like everyone that has anything to do with it has washed their hands since releasing it is very dissapointing. ### 2/5 — Needs update. Wasted money. *2015-02-09* I was using their Expess Delegate software and because of the description I thoughts I could send directly to it, but you can't. I really hope it gets updated with this feature soon. Also it needs to be update for newer devices (iPhone 6 Plus) and a more modern/clean look (it looks terrible on my iPhone 6 Plus). ## Most praised reviews (4 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Iphone als perfektes Diktiergerät *2015-01-20* Das Iphone kann ich mit ExpressDictate Professional als perfektes Diktiergerät für meine Spracherkennungssoftware Philips Speach Control einsetzen. Lange Klageschriftsätze im wav-Format übertrage ich per Wifi an meinen FTP-Server bei 1und1, wo ich sie vom KanzleiPC abrufe und als einzelnes WAV-File in die Spracherkennung einpflege...meine Sekretärin war über das perfekte Ergebnis total begeistert. I am getting used to the little buttons now though. 2) Please eliminate the 1-2 second pause after I push the record button (this is the most annoying thing and was not an issue with the original free version). Otherwise, this is a very good app and I use it every day. I am only critical because it is so valuable to me. ### 2/5 — Missing Necessary Feature *2014-09-06* The previous program had an auto numbering feature for consecutive dictations. Tapping new would advance the dictation name by 1 after the manner "Dictation 1, Dictation 2, Dictation 3..."
