## What is Extended Essay?

Extended Essay Dashboard gives IB students a clearer, more manageable way to navigate the Extended Essay from first idea to final reflection.

Instead of facing one enormous project, students follow 18 structured stages across the complete Extended Essay journey. Each stage helps make the next step clear, while keeping research, deadlines, meetings, reflections and progress connected.

KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT
Clear guidance helps students understand where they are, what they need to do and what comes next.

MAKE PROGRESS VISIBLE
Follow the full 18-stage journey and see progress build from early exploration through research, writing and final reflection.

STAY AHEAD OF DEADLINES
School milestones and deadlines are brought into the journey, helping students stay organised and manage a long-term independent project.

KEEP RESEARCH ORGANISED
Capture and develop research as the essay evolves, keeping important thinking and sources connected to the process.

MAKE SUPERVISION COUNT
Keep supervisor meetings, notes, recordings, feedback and next actions together so that conversations lead to meaningful progress.

SUPPORT DIFFERENT LEARNERS
Extended Essay Dashboard is designed to make independent research more accessible, with supportive tools and clear, manageable tasks that help students move forward when they get stuck.

REFLECT ON THE JOURNEY
Build a visible record of decisions, development and reflection across the Extended Essay — not just the finished essay.

Extended Essay Dashboard also gives supervisors and coordinators greater visibility of student progress, helping schools support students without taking ownership of the work away from them.

Plan. Research. Write. Reflect. Succeed.
