There was a welcome packet with our lock inside the unit. The grounds keeper was extremely friendly and directed us to where our unit was and did it with a smile. We chose this location because of the price, convenience and accessibility. No, it’s not 24 hours but open from 6AM - 10PM and that’s fine. Horrible first experience with this company. Got voicemail saying to come between certain hours. Show up. Nobody there. Sign says they are on property and to text a number. I text. Reply says nobody is there and use kiosk. Kiosk requires log in and can’t. App won’t work. The app and website does it use 2FA/MFA. Anyone with my email and password can download the app and access the BT based gate and lock to my unit. Was told the app knows when it’s your phone yet I was able to access the unit with my new number as well as old phone with a different number. They pointed out SSL protects me on the web yet without authentication any network WiFi I’ve used such as in an Airbnbs I have stayed in the area would be considered known networks and not flagged. Then pointed me to the activity log which was incomplete and didn’t show lock and unlock. I sent pictures showing the locked BT lock and the activity not on the log and they don’t won’t acknowledge it’s incomplete with the district manager suggested I take my business elsewhere. I requested a complete log of devices that have downloaded the app and have access and the district manager does not appear to be tech savvy since she kept focusing on authentication as the issue and not the fact my storage has been accessed illegally and they are suppressing the evidence of it It’s 2026 and I was informed ESS doesn’t have a log of the number of devices with BT access or a way to track that. ### 1/5 — App does not work *2026-08-14, version 9.10.1* This app is great in concept, but a failure is a reality.
