## What is Eye Care 20 20 20?

Give your eyes the break they're begging for just for a little cost.

Staring at screens all day leaves your eyes dry, tired, red, and strained. Eyecare 20 20 20 fixes that with one gentle reminder every 20 minutes — and now it can run on its own, so you never have to remember to start it.

It's built on the doctor-recommended 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. That tiny habit relaxes your eye muscles, reduces digital eye strain, and helps prevent the dryness and redness that come from long screen time.

Set it once, then forget it.

Tell Eyecare your working hours — for example, weekdays from 8 to 4 — and the app starts and stops your reminders automatically on those days. No tapping, no thinking about it. Your eye breaks just happen while you work.

Prefer a nudge instead? Set a fixed daily reminder and the app will tell you when it's time to start, so the habit sticks even on your busiest days.

Three ways to use it — pick what fits you:
* Manual — Tap Start when you begin, tap Stop when you're done.
* Auto-schedule — Choose your days and hours (like weekdays 8–4) and reminders run automatically.
* Daily start reminder — Get a nudge at a fixed time to begin your session.

Dead simple. Zero learning curve.

No accounts. No complicated settings. Whether you run it by hand or let it run itself, Eyecare quietly works in the background while you do.

### 1/5 — paid now

*2026-07-20, version 5.3*

would've been a decent app before but now it's just a predatory garbage app due to the ridiculously-expensive subscription now required, all just for notifications every 20 minutes. ridiculous

### 1/5 — Expensive

*2026-07-11, version 5.3*

This used to be free, now it’s £50/year! Not sure what costs you have to justify this, as it doesn’t involve any external infrastructure. It’s a timer…

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-07-07, version 5.3*

I would subscribe but you consider it as FREE app then tell me that it is paid? I am disappointed

### 1/5 — No free version

*2026-06-11, version 5.2.9*

Free to download, then the app immediately demands you “upgrade” to “premium”. THERE IS NO BASIC version, no free version or features at all. Premium only! Stupid clickbait.

### 1/5 — Unhappy

*2026-05-19, version 5.2.8*

Not really happy with it being a paid subscription. I had a similar app like this on android and it was for free

### 1/5 — Predatory Subscription Added in Update, no compensation for previous paid users

*2026-05-07*

This app worked great for several years and was well worth the $1.99 to remove ads. I was very disappointed to open the app after an update to not only be required to create an account, but to also be presented with a 3 day free trial that either converts into $1.99/week ($8/month) or $60/year ….. for routine notifications. No new features, and no mention of previous paid users. I have uninstalled the app and would warn others against using the app.

### 1/5 — Avoid. Was a one time purchase but now it’s a subscription and requires login information.

*2026-04-29, version 5.2.8*

Was a very helpful app initially but there was an update from 2024 - 2026 that removed the one time purchase of $1.99 for premium and now REQUIRES a subscription to use the app. They also require a email to login now.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t disclose inapp purchase

*2026-04-19, version 5.2.8*

Doesn’t disclose in app purchase on the App Store page. Ask users to sign up then ask for purchase. If you end up not purchasing, it also doesn’t allow you to delete your account - so you still end up giving your email to this app

### 2/5 — Timer App

*2026-04-18, version 5.2.8*

It’s a timer. No need to spend 3 bucks a week on it

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2026-04-08, version 5.2.8*

The app was free which makes sense. Now the app FORCES YOU TO PAY to “help with server costs”. What server costs?!?! This is a simple app that tracks eye usage there is no server involvement. NOT WORTH!!! BETTER FREE VERSIONS AVAILABLE!!!!
