## What is Eye on the Sky?

Point your iPhone toward an aircraft, explore a possible match and save the sighting. Eye on the Sky is a recreational spotting companion for people watching from the ground.

DISCOVER WHAT IS OVERHEAD

Use the camera view to explore estimated nearby aircraft. Open a detail card for available flight, route, altitude, speed and aircraft-type information.

BUILD YOUR PERSONAL COLLECTION

Hold the center aim on an aircraft marker to save a sighting. Revisit your Flight Log, discover the aircraft types you have seen and explore saved routes on a map.

LEARN MORE

Browse aircraft-type information and open available links to provider-hosted reference and actual-aircraft photo pages.

TRY PREMIUM FOR FIVE DAYS

New users receive five days of introductory Premium access. Afterward, the free tier allows up to five distinct detailed aircraft identifications each day and limited history views. A one-time Premium purchase unlocks full saved history and removes the daily detailed-identification limit. No subscription is required. Live features always depend on connectivity and data availability.

HOW IT WORKS

Eye on the Sky combines the camera, location, heading and motion sensors with third-party aircraft data to estimate possible matches. Live aircraft information is provided by ADSB.lol. Reference information may come from Wikipedia; photo-page links may lead to Planespotters.net. Airport reference data includes DataHub airport codes. No Gobsmacked account is required.

IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS

Aircraft matches, positions and camera placement are estimates. Information may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable or incorrect. An aircraft may be present even when no match appears.

For recreational ground-based spotting only. Do not use Eye on the Sky for navigation, traffic avoidance, flight planning, emergencies, safety decisions, driving or while operating an aircraft.
