## What is EyeTV?

The EyeTV app turns your iPad and iPhone into the ultimate portable television! Access the EyeTV software and hardware running on your Mac at home anywhere you have an LTE/3G or Wi-Fi connection.

Easy Setup
There is no need to reconfigure your local Wi-Fi network. Simply activate the option "iPhone/iPad Sharing" in the EyeTV preferences. Sometimes, fully automatic configuration may not be possible outside of your local network. Please see www.geniatech.eu for details.
If you’re using the OS X firewall, be sure to allow incoming connections for both EyeTV and EyeConnect. EyeTV uses port 2170. If that doesn’t let you connect, try turning off the firewall and turning it back on again.

Non-existing support and activation key cancelled by Geniatech / EyeTv for unexplained reasons. 
Almost daily request for support never answered !
Call centre takes calls.
Forget this previously good app.
Zig had it's value until it sold to a Chinese investor who runs it dead !

I just got this version EyeTV for my iPhone to watch tv on the go. Connecting to the computer with EyeTV running now crashes the EyeTV macOS app, and it tells me that the IOS version needs to be updated. 

"This version of “EyeTV” is not compatible with macOS 14 or later and needs to be updated. Contact the app developer for more information."

I just paid $7.99 for a program that doesn't work. Please update the iOS app and the MacOS apps for the new OS.

As I have found to my cost (and seemingly that of many other users given the very poor feedback) this app is not fit for the purpose with which it was intended. Like so many long-suffering early Elgato adopters I have found Geniatech’s approach to after-sales care on EyeTV devices lacklustre in the extreme and it is hardly surprising that little has been done in terms of maintaining app development either. I will be periodically checking on the progress, if any, of this item in terms of development but given that its last update was some 2 years ago would be inclined to give any Geniatech app a very wide berth for the time being.

It’s tragic what Geniatech have done to the Eye TV product since they bought it from Elgato. The iPad version no longer works properly. The new 64 bit version for MacBook doesn’t either. If you try to record, it doesn’t stop recording until your HD runs out of space!

They have no answers when you contact them - just reinstall it and try again!!!

Used to be a favourite and now it’s totally unreliable. I don’t think I’d pay for any further upgrades.

Very disappointing!
