I thought Singapore more advanced. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work. *2023-12-12, version 3.19.1* I managed to top up my EZlink cards once or twice before the app gave up. It refuses to do anything now. I’ve reinstalled the app, changed my password, and tried multiple cards, but payment always fails. In addition to the time wasted inputting countless OTPs, I sure I’m not alone in getting annoyed at passing my credit card details to a company that clearly isn’t trying to complete a transaction. All over a terrible non-innovation. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — EZ-Link App is not for visitors to Singapore. *2025-04-05, version 3.25.0* Available in foreign (USA) country app stores for everyone to install but is unusable as it expects a +65 country code mobile phone. I was preparing for my visit to Singapore, with this app and simply cannot use it without a +65 mobile phone. I am sure this is a 5 star app but why allow visitors to install the app and it’s hard coded to Singaporeans. It doesn’t even allow neighbouring Malaysians either. ### 1/5 — No overseas cards allowed for top up *2024-08-27, version 3.20.0* You have a wonderful transport system in Singapore that tourists admire very much . It is a shame that we cannot top up our ez link card using our own debit or credit card issued in our country. We do not have a locally issued payment card when we are tourists. A much better improvement over the previous, almost-unusable app. Even remembers login details. I'll rate this 9/10 as it is clean, modern, minimalistic and great UI. Further improvement could be option to add more than 3 cards and show transaction history for a period of MORE than past 3 months. Also, app must allow clicking on each travel mode and explain wth is 'Go-Ahead'. Include ability to show transactions Live, not delayed like it is right now. Old review- This app is a disgrace to SMRT and EZYLINK. It's unintuitive, bad design by some novice developer. Ignore it. ### 3/5 — Not quite reliable *2023-05-05, version 3.15.0* My kid just missed his bus because his top up, which was successful, took time to go through. 3 mins wasn’t enough. And the reason we needed to top up was because when I opened the app I saw that a previous top up had been refunded to me. So I thought my kid had money - he didn’t. And that’s the second time a refund has left us caught short. Generally I like this app, but things like this make it really annoying and necessitate alternative methods. ### 3/5 — More recharge options please *2023-04-19* The app is overall easy to navigate and user friendly. My issue is with the non acceptance of out of Singapore credit cards for recharge. Even the kiosks at MRT stations don’t accept international credit cards. So, the options are to either go to Seven Eleven stores (they charge 60 cents per 10 SGD recharge) or use cash at kiosk only available at MRT stations.
