My older brother never had the chance to go to a American high school, so he had to pay hundreds of dollars to learn English which did not work that well. Since we both started using this app, our English language skills have improved dramatically. I actually went looking, hoping someone had done this. Love the interface of lectures. I know that it will get used a lot, as it's often the first choice made for a good English sentence. Please consider expanding. If you're going to have it, please make it more extensive, and expandable. But this is still 5 star in my book. No one really has the time to check a grammar textbook every time they're unsure how to use a semicolon. However, what makes EZ Comma stand out from the rest of the crowd is its pure simplicity. The interface is simple and clean, and on top of that, all of the content taught is accurate and easy to digest. One rule, one set examples is all I got. I kept wondering, where is the rest? Is that all there is? I would be willing to pay for a test version made for the Ipad, but not the physical book that the author is plugging. In this day and age of mobile computing, the author wants to sell me a book? It won't happen. Folks, look back at all the 5-star ratings. Do you really believe all those people believe this software deserves 5-star ratings? To the author, remove the jazzy music. It is sooooo irritating. Great concept, but it falls short on delivering something worthwhile. I am deleting this app when I am done with the review. **Developer response:** A test was added at the end: just turn the volume off or mute if you don't like the music. Your review of 1 star doesn't match your words... ### 1/5 — Dull *2014-08-11, version 1.5* Pros: Quick reference guide, although the rules aren't labeled. Cons: Very "sit and got."- no interaction. Research indicates that that animation combined with narration is more effective than animation with text. The music is not helpful. The practice does not require students to apply anything they might have learned. I struggle at times with language usage. On my desk and shelves you'll find all of the major reference books. EZCOMMA is so simple to check my work. If you're a novice this is a great tool to learn how to create interesting sentence structures. I'm keeping a copy of this App on the desk tops of all of my electronic devices. This is a fine tool. For the price it's worth having around...Just a quick note, because it's free you may not take the time to grasps that it's a tool that teaches something that is confusing to most people in a very simple and effective way. Students can refer to the app or teachers can build lessons with it. Either way, you're bound to see an improvement in your students' writing. The new EZ Comma is even better. The music is a plus, but it can still be used without sound. And, the quiz at the end can be used as either a post and/or pre-test. I use this app for my high school classes, as well as for my class at a community college.
