Just go to your school cafeteria and pay. ### 1/5 — The app charges more than most ATMs *2020-02-28, version 2.4.8* In my opinion, public schools should not use a service that takes money from families (currently $3 per use to add funds to my child’s account). I like the convenience of the service but feel the service should either be free or be subsidized by the County or school district. I’m going to just add funds using cash from now on. I’m wondering how many hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars are earned by the app every month. ### 1/5 — $2 service fee each time you use it. Ridiculous. *2020-02-26, version 2.4.8* You’ve got to be kidding. Then you can’t just pay a specific amount. This is more expensive than PayPal. Also, my school’s office informed me of a charge to load? Each time? Why a school district would associate with such an app is beyond me. Kids with thousands of dollars in their account. ??? Is that common? And then the only kid with no picture and a negative balance is likely a person of color? Now I’m waiting on a refund from the school to pay the correct district. Was told to delete my account and make a new one but the app says I can’t use the same email account! So apparently I can never use this app again unless I open a different email account for it. The 1800 number said they wouldn’t talk to me because I wasn’t the corporation who subscribes to it. The wait time on each step is also ridiculous it takes forever to get to next step and when you are frustrated that’s when they show a $3 convenience fee ### 1/5 — Crash!!! *2019-06-07, version 2.3.10* I used to be able to check the history to make sure he wasn’t just getting cookies for lunch- now each and EVERY time I try to open the history tab it crashes- it needs fixed or I’m removing my info altogether and just sending him with cash. If you can’t be trusted to fix this by now then I can’t trust you with my credit info! 6/7/19 Still an issue a year later- just told to go in a different way 🙄 (which only sometimes works) At $3 fee every time I put money on, you could at least fix it... ### 1/5 — Easy to be robbef *2019-02-28* Depositing money in this app which has no pin or two factor authentication is like throwing money away to random unknown student lunches. Just plug in some other students ID 6 digit number and viola free lunch. There's no hour and minute audit timestamp, no ceiling caps or daily limits or lockout for multiple daily use or other security control. After asking my athlete kid why they've been eating three lunches a day they said they never do that. The lack of security controls is appaling in this app your better off giving your kid cash even if they lose it once a week than putting $50 in here to be robbed at will by some random kid who knows your kids student ID. I'll be asking the district to replace this app with one that has real security or refund the stolen funds. ### 3/5 — Good when it works *2019-01-11, version 2.3.5* Doesn’t always work. Right now, I had been trying and trying to pay, but the “store” is down. And some other features aren’t working either. Now it won’t let me log in says “Connection issue” problem is my internet is working for the house. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Don’t Love It *2025-11-07* I’ve used this app for almost five years now and it’s always been meh/okay. New this year? A $2 transaction fee each time you add money to your child’s account. Annoying, but fine. Except now the app won’t even let me add money to my child’s account. I receive an error each time. What a disgusting, parasitic business. ### 1/5 — The app and the program is a joke *2022-09-19* So I signed up through our school for Efunds in 2020. I’ve never been able to use anything other than my laptop the very device I signed up for efunds. I couldn’t and can’t sign in on my phone, iPad or my husband devices or laptop. It wants me to register all over again. Generally when you register multiple times for the same thing is says the email is already being used. Nope not this website. It will take your email multiple times with the same password. But then the kicker is anytime I go back to any of my other devices to login it doesn’t recognize my login info on that device so then I need to go back to the last device I signed up and logged into. This is a complete and utter joke of a website and when I saw the ezschool app that was linked to our efunds link on our school website I thought there was hope but it was the same thing all over again. I can’t believe the incompetent ppl who are designing these apps and sites they have seen enough reviews to have to fix it but they don’t. My recommendation is don’t waste your time with either the app or the website. It will save you a lot of time and frustration.
