Case study in ruining an app
This was one of the greatest streaming experiences on the market. Ever since selling the streaming rights to Apple and moving the subscription to be primarily through the Apple TV app, this app has had nothing but “video error”s and constant quality degradation. Horrible of F1. Horrible of Apple.
Very good
Really good app to watch Grand Prix from previous years, you need to pay to watch anything but it’s seriously worth it, would be better if you could play races and switch off the phone and let it continue playing in the background. But still excellent app for f1
Race result spoilers in notifications!!
Unless you can religiously watch evey race, this godawful app will SPOIL the results of a race by sending asinine notifications containing headlines which will spoil the outcome of a race. I genuinely feel like I should get monetary compensation, because I pay to have access to watch F1 races. I am not happy about this at all. There needs to be extensive notification settings to avoid this type of disappointment.

Needs resolution control
It’s impossible to watch on a limited connection and buffers too much. Also eats data contracts for lunch. Needs an optio to use lower bandwidth under certain conditions (poor connection or when off wifi)
Can’t airplay
The only app I have issues playing on my TV loads on my phone just fine. As soon as I try to airplay it, it just gets suck in a load screen
Highly recommend
If you’re an F1 fan, the Formula 1 platform is absolutely worth it. The live coverage is excellent, with multiple onboard cameras, team radio, live timing, and the ability to watch the race from virtually any driver’s perspective. It completely changes the viewing experience and makes you feel like you’re part of the action.
I also love the huge archive of past races, documentaries, and exclusive content, which is perfect during the off-season or if you want to relive iconic moments. The app is easy to navigate, the streaming quality is excellent, and it’s become my go-to way to follow every race weekend.
Whether you’re a lifelong fan or just getting into Formula 1, this platform adds so much depth to the sport. Highly recommended!

Screen Casting Issues
You cannot change the commentary language once you cast the video on a screen, and even if you choose English Intl. before casting it casts just English as default.
Missing Picture in Picture
The app is great overall. It is missing the feature to watch Picture in Picture. If it cannot be done with the main screening, maybe a second screening should be considered on the app to show a PiP friendly video format.
F1 TV App
I love F1 TV App. My family buy it for my birthday each year. It allows me to follow what’s going on in F1 no matter where I am. The commentators are awesome and you learn so much about the sport. It’s the best.
Non commentary race
Just watched the “race in 30” for the first time since the last update and wow it was nice to hear the uninterrupted sound of a GP. Radio chat and commentary should be optional
Broken International Audio
Devs broke the international audio when casting to a TV - you can only choose English and so don’t have the casters we’ve been listing to for YEARS (Crofty!)
Shows someone doesn’t know their customer.
Workaround might be to turn off the Multiview in the app settings.
When this goes to AppleTV completely I’ll be blaming Apple and F1 both for this massive miss - the normal announcers are nowhere near as good and multiple generations have been listening to Crofty and Brundle for decades.
Again huge huge huge miss here when the announcers are 50%+ of the content.

Does not grant access to watching any races because f1 sold out streaming to apple for all US customers

Does not work in so many countries, so for anyone who travels it is pointless you still need to find somewhere to watch races live

Sits at the splash screen and does nothing else
Used to work fine. Now just sits at the splash screen…
Worst streaming app
I love F1 but my god this app is awful. Even on a great wifi you will loose connection, whether you are watching a replay or live. If you do loose connection the app will restart you at a random point of the race, even ahead of where you stopped. If you were to start a session half way through the live and asked to “watch from the start” be ready to be fully spoiled as it will just go live.
For the price of the subscription the app is ridiculously bad at the only thing it’s supposed to do. A real shame that with the money F1 makes they can’t propose a half decent streaming platform.
Oh also they keep removing my negative reviews. This is the third time I have to write this.
