It is simply the best flight sim out there. ### 5/5 — Fantastic game, but some small things missing *2022-07-07* Very realistic game that gives you the experience of being a pilot from takeoff to taxi, planning a sortie, flying with wingman, radioing the LSO, and ejecting out. But a couple things make it a bit frustrating. There is no real opportunity to just free fly and practice some of these things like carrier landings, weapons, maneuvers or just exploring the plane itself. Second is the lack of ability to make it realistic in terms of weather conditions. Otherwise it’s a fantastic and worth it as well. I hope the developer considers this feedback. ### 5/5 — Based off the Original PC Game, Remade for Mobile *2022-06-22* This game is just F/A-18 Operation Iraqi Freedom that was out for PC, and has now essentially been made into a mobile game. I have hundreds of hours on both the PC and Mobile game. Highly realistic, and by far one of the most realistic F/A-18 simulators, and air combat simulators on the App Store today, hands down. No competition. A great game that can entertain for hours, and give users a taste of what the F/A-18 Hornet is capable of (the game is based off of the original C/D model Hornet, not the E/F Super Hornet. ### 5/5 — Excellent port of an old classic *2022-06-21, version 1.5* Fantastic port. Wasn’t sure that the game would translate to mobile very well, but they made it work. If you’re looking for a more realistic air combat sim, this is one to look at. I’m hoping they release the Korea expansion pack. ### 5/5 — Reminds me of Fleet Defender in a good way! *2022-06-03, version 1.5* Those of us of a certain age who played and loved Fleet Defender and F15 Eagle back in the 90s will love this game. I’ve played loads of flight sims on iOS including Gunship, Infinite Flight and Aerofly, and this is definitely up there with the best of them. I think this game is an iOS port of a historic PC game from the mid to late 90s, in the same way Gunship is, and some people have commented about the graphics looking dated in their reviews. Sure, compared to a modern game like Aerofly the graphics are showing their age, but they are still excellent and don’t detract one bit from the gameplay or the overall immersion. For a vintage game the graphics are actually superb, but where this game really wins over the others is in its level of depth, immersion and realism. This game is deep, definitely more of a classic combat flight simulator than an arcade game, which is just how I like my flight sims. You need to put some time into this game and go through the tutorials, which are all excellent by the way. After a short while you’ll be dogfighting and landing on your aircraft carrier, just like Maverick! So yeah, probably the best combat flight simulator currently available in the App Store. ### 5/5 — New Campaign Missions Please!!! *2022-06-02, version 1.5* This game is by far the best F-18 simulator. Don’t waste $9.99 like I did! *2019-06-08* The graphics and controls are outdated and there is too many of them that are not visible or easy to find while flying. And when comparing this to something like Infinite Flight, Aerofly FS 2019, or Carrier Landings HD, this has no chance in terms of graphics and controls, on the other hand, the combat/missions/sorties are something that neither of the other sims provide, but it still is not capable of beating them. I’m now wishing that Apple had implemented a trial system into the App Store, because if I had known what I was getting into when I spent $10, I would’ve never spent that money on something so old, inaccurate, and outdated. All we need now is the ability to pan around and be able to let go of the view so it stays in that last panned position, giving the ability to truly fly using the virtual cockpit. Perhaps double tap the view button to recenter the view to the front. That would be my dream and would get the full 5 stars! The FCR that they have is comparable to DCS and it’s well done. All we are asking for is love for the cockpit, a tiny bit better graphics, and better tips on how to beat a mission, love the story line it’s great!!!. Also the flight schools need more info and to be longer and need to have like a test at the end. Also this game has potential to be the Mobil DCS so make more planes to fly and possibly make a full cockpit interaction system.
