## What is FabFilter Pro?

FabFilter Pro-Q 2 is a transparent, high-quality equalizer plug-in for mixing and mastering purposes, with up to 24 bands and a gorgeous interface for easy and precise editing. With its unique Natural Phase mode, it matches both the magnitude and phase response of analog EQ'ing perfectly. Innovative features like Spectrum Grab and EQ Match together with its intelligent interactive EQ display make Pro-Q 2 an absolute joy to use.

The Pro-Q 2 app filters the microphone input and plays it back in real-time. To use Pro-Q 2 as a plug-in, you need an AUv3-compatible host app like Auria, AUM or Cubasis. Pro-Q 2 will appear in the list of Audio Unit extensions for effect plug-ins in the host app.

GarageBand projects with Pro Q 2 which I was working on two days ago on my iPad no longer load the plug-in. I get a message that the ProQ 2 plug-in is not installed on the iPad and needs to be downloaded. I can open it in stand alone mode so it is clearly installed on the iPad. I have not updated the IOS since it last worked or made any other changes.

Fabfilter is one of the best high end creators of plugins for computers and this is the first one that i know of to come to IOS. Yes, it is not cheap relative to other ios plugins but it is so much better than the rest that you are better to have it. The computer version is much more expensive and worth every penny so in a sense the ios one is a deal. Any other plugins that fabfilter releases for ios will instantly be part of my music production apps because of the extreme quality, flexibility and lack of problems. Go ahead and get a cheap plugin and waste your money or buy a quality one that does exactly what you need without crashing every few times you touch it.
