## What is Fabora RAMS?

Fabora RAMS is a RAMS app for UK steelwork. Write a risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) for a site or workshop job on your iPhone or iPad, then issue it as a PDF with your company details on it.

It is made for fabrication, welding and steel erection firms. Pick a trade pack written for that work and your risk assessment and method statement start close to the real job, not from a blank template.

How do you write a RAMS in the app?
Tap New RAMS, choose Site or Workshop, pick a trade pack and say what the job is. The trade pack fills in the hazards, PPE, equipment and method steps that kind of job usually needs. Then work through nine steps: job details, permits and controls (plant, equipment and COSHH), method of work, supervision, hazards, PPE, risk scores, sign-off and review. Change anything that does not match the job in front of you.

What goes into the RAMS?
- 48 common hazards, each with a starting likelihood and severity score before and after controls, suggested control measures and the UK regulation it relates to, such as PUWER, LOLER or COSHH
- A 5 by 5 risk matrix (likelihood times severity) for initial and residual risk
- PPE for the job, with the EN standard named on items such as hard hats (EN 397) and welding gauntlets (EN 12477)
- Method steps in order with a time for each, permits to work, supervision and emergency arrangements
- The operatives on the job and their roles, and a sign-off sheet on the PDF
- A record number and revision on every document

Which trade packs are there?
Welding and hot works, workshop fabrication and assembly, steel erection and installation, bolt-up installation, steel erection with site welding, secondary steel (staircases, handrails and balustrades), grinding and cutting, and maintenance and alteration works.

What does the app add on your iPhone or iPad?
- Issued: every PDF you export or print is kept on the device, listed by record number and revision, and opens with no signal
- App lock: ask for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode whenever the app opens
- Print through AirPrint, or send the PDF on from the share sheet
- Sign in by scanning the code on your computer, or with a 6-digit code from your email, instead of typing a password, and stay signed in

Your company libraries
Keep your customers and their sites and contacts, operatives, equipment, hazards, PPE, method steps and COSHH items in one place, and pick from them on every RAMS instead of typing them again.

Share and reuse
Send a share link your customer can open without an account, or duplicate an earlier RAMS for a similar job.

Ask Fabora
Stuck on a term or a step? Ask Fabora, the help assistant in the app, answers questions about using Fabora RAMS, such as what residual risk means.

Who can use it?
You need a Fabora RAMS company account to sign in. The same account works in a web browser, so the office and the site see the same RAMS. Share links, duplicating a RAMS, the COSHH library and your logo on the PDF depend on your company's plan.

What Fabora RAMS does not do
Fabora RAMS helps a competent person prepare editable, site-specific RAMS. Final review, suitability, approval and implementation stay with your business and the people responsible for the job. The app does not make work safe or compliant on its own.

No adverts and no tracking.
