A quick preview feature is a must, especially for videos. It would be great if I could hold my finger on a video/image/file and have it instantly preview or play smoothly. 2. A scratchpad for quick notes where the text stays unchanged would be incredibly useful. I know you’d make it great and customizable because you’re clearly creative developers. Placing the scratchpad in the menu bar beside Home, Tasks, and Calendar would look really neat. 3. Adding more themes alongside the current dark and light modes across the whole app would be amazing. An OLED pure black theme would look fantastic. It would add more personality and make the experience feel fresh whenever users switch themes from time to time. Maybe in the future, you could expand this even further and introduce new themes with updates. Please consider these ideas. ### 2/5 — Frustrating if you aren’t a developer *2026-01-26* I’m leaving a 2 star review for 2 man reasons: 1) the built in AI model has just consistently lead me astray since the day I subscribed 4 months ago…as a result, I’m effectively starting over and scrapping everything because what it advised me to do couldn’t be more wrong; and 2) if I give you $150, I should be able to hop on the phone or send an email for customer support…I shouldn’t have to download and install an app that I neither have nor want to have called Discord. ### 2/5 — Great idea. Frustratingly janky *2025-12-06, version 0.8.10* I want to love this platform. But the iOS and iPad apps are frustratingly janky. Drafts can be lost in poor connection areas. App doesn’t work offline - so you’ve lost all your notes and note taking abilities on a plane. The screen randomly shifts to other notes mid note taking. Touch and gestures don’t register. Too clunky and ai responses too unreliable to pay for currently, but the goal of what the developers are trying to achieve is to be commended, just a way further to go. The goal of seamless integration of notes/clipping app functionality with ai and cloud storage across multiple devices is great but not yet as fully achieved. Worth looking at and trying, might be sufficiently ok for some, but not there yet for me. **Developer response:** Hi! :) We'd love to know how we could make 1) the AI responses feel more reliable for you, and 2) the app feel less clunky. We hope we can change your mind about the very harsh rating :) ### 2/5 — App is very buggy *2025-07-16* I started off a big fan of this app. It was so convenient to use as someone that was using Google Keep and Notion before. I started paying for the annual basic plan. But now for whatever reason its very buggy and rarely works when i need it. When I take video notes, the playback never works. The AI summary section never works. I can’t ask the AI questions on my notes anymore. And for whatever reason, the timeline tab wont load when I try and open, even after jumping on different networks and restarting the app. **Developer response:** Sorry to hear you had a less than ideal experience! I can add content (links, files, notes, audio) to a specific space, but to just dump new content into my home page it keeps giving me an error. It just says “failed to upload note” or “failed to upload link” Also, please include a customer support email SOMEWHERE on your web store because I can’t find one anywhere. Anyways I really like this app I just wish it would work. **Developer response:** We're sorry to hear you had an issue! We actually don't handle payments at all – they're all handled by Apple directly via the App Store, so it's as safe and secure as can be :) ### 5/5 — Underrated *2025-04-03, version 0.8.6* Updated again: With the inclusion of the AI transcription for YouTube videos Fabric just earned 6 stars. And earlier I mentioned the support was lacking. At this point I totally understand why. It’s because they are constantly adding enhancements to an already great app. Keep up the great work! I’ll be a long term subscriber for sure! Update: Updated to 5 stars as the AI summaries are much better now and they have added a few new features. There is no other app that is similar to fabric with as many features as it has. Thank you to the developers for constantly updating this app! This app is very underrated. I don’t know why there aren’t more reviews. I compared a few of these 2nd brain apps and hands down Fabric beat them all. Yes it might not have the polished UI like some other apps but in terms of usability and sheer amount of functions it crushes the competition. No other app I have found has so many features. It’s half the price of most of them as well. They are a small team so email support is lacking but unless you have feature requests you probably won’t use it anyway. I see another reviewer said they are responsive on discord so if you do need support try there first. The main features that sold me were unlimited file size uploads. The competitors have upload file sizes of 25 MB. Do they realize it’s 2025? Give Fabric a shot it’s 4.99 or so for a month so skip a coffee for a day you won’t regret it. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — AI Token Vending Machine *2026-04-14, version 0.8.11* The app is designed to be an 2nd brain/info dump, STAY AWAY, its an AI credit game. On highest paid tier, Ran out of AI usage my very first 1.5 weeks then you literally cant do anything in the app. They then put the “Top up your AI” ad in every corner NON RESPONSIVE. Intentionally designed to under allocate so while you pay for highest 20 x the usage you cant effectively use their app without paying for extra AI. Emailed them 4/8/26, no reply, again on 4/10/26, no reply, again on 4/13/26, no reply. Confirmed emails were read. Not worth it to being with. ### 1/5 — Nothing works as described *2026-03-18* I paid for a 1 year subscription in September and since then this app has been the bane of my existence. Despite scheduling several tasks, the assistant has completed none of them; the assistant routinely lies about it’s capabilities/what it will do for you and then does nothing and openly admits it did nothing in furtherance of what was asked of it/promised by it. I easily have 500 tagged files that match up perfectly with the tags for the “Smart Collection” but, yep, you guessed it….not one file has been automatically filed into the Smart Collection. Transcription notes aren’t accurate and cut off after 30 seconds with a very confusing UX. All these things make the app experience frustrating. It’s basically not usable outside of web happy path. Quite frankly the entire premise of this proposition is idealistic and falls apart with serious use. There are better apps out there currently - even just falling back to ChatGPT and Claude now they have built in memories. ### 1/5 — USELESS *2025-10-27* this app is impossible to use. It took up so much space on my phone was super laggy and when I first downloaded it, it won’t even open the app. It won’t let me upload files cause I says that I don’t have any Internet connection even though I have FULL BARS. also, it’s a massive flash-bang of light because for me when it loads, the screen goes black, and then it blinds me with a super white screen, and then shows me a blue icon. sometimes it’s straight up, stays at that blue icon. It doesn’t move anywhere else. I would give this zero stars if I could. do not download not worth it, and would not recommend. ### 1/5 — Useless *2025-10-03* I attempted to use Fabric to organize a project I am working on. I had a dozen tabs open in my web browser. Rather than add each one to a project board somewhere individually, I asked Fabric to save them all at once. Fabric responded that it cannot do that and that I would need to save them each individually. Every response that Fabric gave was five tabs longer than it needed to be, even after I said to use short responses. The font is virtually unreadable on mobile, but it cannot be changed. When I asked Fabric to use a larger font, it completely ignored the request at first then just started replying in all caps bold type. **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! A few clarifications: The AI assistant can only work with content you've saved to Fabric—it can't access your browser tabs directly. However, we're actively building a bulk-save feature for the Chrome extension and have noted your request. We're also working on font size controls and improving how the AI handles formatting requests. We're a small team building based on feedback like yours. If you're willing to try Fabric again once we've made these improvements, we'd love to hear if it works better for you. ### 1/5 — Apple Pencil Support *2025-02-15* Add apple pencil support. i want to be able to add a sketch that i can make with my apple pencil. **Developer response:** Feedback noted! We don't currently have any kind of sketching feature, but will consider for our roadmap :) ### 2/5 — Needs to improve *2026-06-07, version 0.8.11* I like the way Fabric works and the interface. But there are two major issues for me: 1. The app doesn’t work without internet connection. Soooo annoying. If on a plane, or simply in a location with spotty connection, you can’t use the app. Very disappointing. Surely in this day and age… etc. 2. The app regularly logs you out. And the knock-on effect is that you cannot then use the web clipper (or the share option on mobile) and you get a mysterious message suggesting you’ve run out of memory or credits. But you haven’t. What you have to do is actually go to the app and login again. Of course, this always happens when you are trying to do a quick save in a hurry. Very, very annoying. So, all in all, a good app with lots of potential. In fact, it could be VERY good. Tagging doesn’t work properly. I can’t create new tags after saving an item, and I can’t remove AI created tags without getting an error. Since tagging is critical for organization, this makes the tool hard to use and not worth paying for.
