It makes me redo the set up process every time i want to use it. It turns on once out of every 50 times i press the power button. I’ve had this for almost a year and have gotten it to work once. However the app continually force closes on the iPhone XS making the Alexa function useless. I spent over an hour trying to get the speaker synced up with the app and ultimately failed. Once I finally got to the screen to have the speaker updated it all went south. I unfortunately can’t use alexia, but I can still use the Bluetooth 😒🤷🏼‍♀️ and 3 years ago you did an update to “fix the wifi issue” but did you really fix it. 🤦🏼‍♀️ ### 1/5 — Truly awful *2022-02-14, version 2.8.7601* It’s so complicated. All I wanted to do is connect to my iPad and then play my Spotify music through the speaker. What an ordeal though to connect the iPad to the app, then the app to the WIFI. It then says connected but when I played my music the device is silent. I try pairing again. Nothing. Turn on and off, it asks me to set up yet again. It really should as simply as pair with WIFI and that’s it. It says I need to allow it permission for location and when I press allow, it takes me to setting and says it’s allowed. When I go back to the app to continue with setting it up, it says the same thing about permission, when I press don’t allow it just says it won’t work without me allowing it but I won’t even let me. So mad ### 1/5 — Fabric *2021-02-10, version 2.8.7601* I’ve had my fabric speaker for almost 2 years, it’s been working fine. There’s an ongoing joke in my house saying that the fabric speaker is jealous, because I now have other devices. I had actually bought it first. For some reason it will not stay connected to the Wi-Fi. It just keeps saying Wi-Fi connection failed. I have other iHome devices and speakers that work great. But Hey, it looks good..LOL! Alexa does not work like an Amazon device. You must physically tap a button to wake up speaker. Pairing is a problem. It seems to need to next to my wifi 6 router to work. Even Bluetooth seems wonky. It’s great. I can adjust the volume of each one so I get a solid, even volume wherever I sit in the room with a slight adjustment. I do have some issues getting them both online at the same time but the weirdest is that after listening for a couple hours one of them goes out or seems to have trouble getting the sound. Then the two speakers go out of sync and it’s about a minute of weirdness after I’ve already paused my music. Once everything finally settles down I can start it up again. The speakers sync up and I’m good for a while. I wish they’d stay in sync though. I’m not moving or have anything else overloading the router so I can’t figure out why it does it. ### 4/5 — Bad App! Great Speakers *2020-01-17, version 2.8.7601* It took sometime to install The Fabriq software. The installation instructions were not clear. It will not play music files stored on the cloud. after the setup you have to delete one of the duplicate drivers if you have set up 2 Riff speakers. but I do agree the app is crap. I don't have issues with the speakers themselves. ### 4/5 — 아주 편한 음질! 엉망인 App *2019-05-09, version 2.8.6609* 이 스피커를 산 이유는 너무나 편한 음질 때문입니다. 음질만 따진다면 별 10개를 줘도 될 만큼 귀를 정말 편하게 합니다. 문제는, WiFi 로 연결하는 App이 엉망이라는 것입니다. 집어 던져버리고 싶을 만큼 오동작으로 노래가 5초 정도 나오고 멈춰 버립니다. 따라서, App절때 다운 받아 사용하지 마시고, Wifi 연결도 시도하지 마시고, Amazon Alexa 도 쓰나마나니 쓰지 마시고, Bluetooth 만 연결해서 쓰시면 정말 좋습니다. 제가 테스트 해본 소형 Bluetooth 스피커 중에서는 정말 최고의 음질이라 극찬을 할 수 있습니다. 절대 App 사용하지 마세요. 오직 Bluetooth 만 사용하세요 ### 4/5 — Does not work on iPhone XR *2019-01-24* The app works just fine on my iPhone 5S but it crashes every time I try to run it on my iPhone XR ### 2/5 — Couldn’t get past setup *2021-01-30, version 2.8.7601* Sorry to say, but the setup process is crappy. Must hook up to wifi first and then to Bluetooth all through a very unfriendly and temperamental app. I have two of these and can’t sync them. I’ve been trying off and on for over three years and it takes me half an hour to re-hook up each time. Hardly worth it. Not recommended. Would be a good product if connection gets simplified like all my other plug and play Bluetooth devices. ### 2/5 — I dont understand why *2020-02-19, version 2.8.7601* A little while back I bought the little riff speaker, I loved the look and you can talk to Alexa and was obsessed. Setting it up was really easy and the sound quality was really good too, until I moved. When I moved to my first place I got new wifi and everything to I had to re set it up and in the app it just keeps telling me that I have to reconnect my speaker to the wifi, (even though it already is) and now I cant make the speaker work cause the app keeps saying I’m not connected, please I need help and answers. I despise that I can’t turn the speaker off with the app or on for that matter. Also having to set the app up all the time is quite aggravating. It is horribly not user friendly and makes a Bluetooth WiFi device more hands on then it should be.
