### 2/5 — ☹️

*2026-04-01, version 5.4.0*

I teach statistics…this app is a joke! If it was a casino their license will be revoked for cheating…update: it’s become worse! utterly ridiculous!!! RIDICULOUS!,!

### 4/5 — Average plus

*2026-03-18*

It’s a cool, better than the average vanilla backgammon game…AI moves, predictable moves when playing solo but I like it enough to not delete it. Enjoy!

### 2/5 — Game is rigged

*2025-12-17*

I have played this game hundreds of times. The play is smooth and it could be a great game. Unfortunately once you are winning the game, suddenly the app starts rolling multiple doubles in a row. I’m not sure why the developer feels the need to do this. They claim that the player rolls the same number of doubles, which might be true, however the game rolls doubles it can use and at critical moments. The player gets doubles that are often unusable or at times when doubles are not ideal. It’s totally rigged, no matter what the developer states.

### 2/5 — Cant score anymore after 15000 in the skills category. What’s the use of playing competitively

*2025-09-16, version 5.4.0*

Why play competitively if that don’t let you score higher than 15000. All the ones who I have a better ranking will eventually catch me. Stupid to play

### 3/5 — The Dice Don’t Lie, They Cheat

*2024-08-30*

When you play the computer in expert mode, it will miraculously find a way to get a perfect role needed to hit your blot. It happens at least 80% of the time, no matter how complex the role needs to be. This game is built really well except the rolls are just too frustrating and in no way random to continue to play it.

### 3/5 — Could be a great game

*2024-06-17, version 5.4.0*

They can claim their dice is random, but it is clear as holy water that it is not. You can’t leave anything open to a two dice kill,EI always gets its roll. After a while you figure it’s all programmed. Nothing real here. It’s too bad, it’s one of the best out there.

### 3/5 — Two Die Monty

*2024-02-22*

So if I have this right, the Roll Again feature allows the user to try and cheat the cheating game? I’ve never used Roll Again because I want to believe that random means random, but that just makes me more of a sucker. Is that it? The more games I play, the worse it gets: More useless rolls, useless doubles, rolls that jeopardize pips, a dozen rolls (first roll when I get on the bar is almost always a double six) trying to get off the bar when there are three open spaces when Computer generally gets off on the first roll with one open space and pulls off miracle rolls consistently. I get smacked around over and over again, then get a game or two where I get all the breaks and start to feel like the game doesn’t cheat until it starts whupping me again. Developer can (and does) repeat that the game doesn’t cheat, which is what any cheater would say, but the Roll Again feature just suggests to me that if I can’t beat Computer, I can join the Computer. Nah.

### 2/5 — New dice algorithm chasing good players away

*2023-11-15*

I’ve been playing backgammon on line for 15 years and most of the apps I’ve played on I’ve deleted after a very short time because the dice algorithm was designed to make you buy more chips. Poor show, but this is a business after all.
I’ve played this App for 10 years or more and have slowly made my way up the leader board and have played the same players multiple times and have had an enormous amount of pleasure playing. I accepted that there would be times I felt like I shouldn’t have lost and the dice were not true, but this was a rare occurrence until recently.
I’ve probably played 10,000 games or more and was confident that 99% of the games seemed fair; good and bad luck happen.
Now the dice are now sometimes so predictable that I often call them before being rolled and the amount of doubles is absolutely absurd.
I think this happened because this particular app doesn’t require you to buy chips and that's bad for business.
I still use the App, but the majority of the enjoyment has been robbed by this new changed algorithm.
Too bad.
I’m now looking for an alternate app, but don’t hold my hopes up that things will be better else where.

### 2/5 — Really guy…

*2023-11-13*

Rigged! Rigged! Rigged! Utterly ridiculous!

**Developer response:** Unfortunately there is nothing to fix as the game is in no way biased. We have tried our best to convince users that there is no bias by providing several different dice roll algorithms, including manual dice which you can roll yourself and then enter the values in the game. Our last attempt was to add the Roll Again feature which makes it easier to pick a different roll when the one you got isn't what you feel is right.

### 1/5 — Can’t play

*2023-08-14*

Have paid, I don’t know 4 or 5 dollars, over 10 years ago, and have enjoyed playing backgammon. All of a sudden, for the past 3 days, can’t play on site. Have tried to contact someone to no avail. Noticed a “PURCHASE” on the site instead of “HELP” so I purchased $1.99 to play for a year. So I paid, still cannot play and still cannot contact anyone. I am not a kid. I hope someone answers this, otherwise refund the $1.99, or do I have to contact the credit card company?

**Developer response:** You can always contact us through the Send Us Feedback button in the Settings, About screen. Most likely the issue is related to Game Center. You should sign out of Game Center in the iPhone Settings app and sign back in. If this does not help, please contact us for further assistance.

### 1/5 — Weak interface

*2023-08-07, version 5.3.1*

Don’t love the look and feel

### 4/5 — Excellent Gammon Experience

*2023-08-02*

Aside from a few little quirks, like not saving the game state permanently, this is a fine Backgammon experience. I appreciate the quick play and the choice of board designs. The doubling decisions need a bit of work but the rest of the AI is pretty good!

### 3/5 — Doubles!

*2023-05-16, version 5.3.1*

I don’t know what’s going on, but the computer is getting five times as many doubles as I’m getting which makes it impossible to beat. Not impressed. I’m sure it’s random but it sure doesn’t seem like it lately.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Badly set up

*2026-07-03, version 5.4.0*

Set to give the computer the advantage. E g. If you knock an opponents piece off the board, they can get back usually within one throw- but if you are knocked iff the board it can take 4-7 throws to get back on the board. Similarly if you have an unprotected piece, the computer will often hit it on the next throw, but if they have an unprotected piece , it will take you several throws to hit it. Very frustrating, I love backgammon but this app is very poor.

### 1/5 — Cheated

*2026-06-18, version 5.4.0*

I’m pretty sure this game manipulates the roll of the dice

### 1/5 — Always lose!

*2026-04-28*

I hate this app because it always makes me lose! I’m an excellent backgammon player but it’s a waste of time trying to play on this app.

### 1/5 — The game cheats

*2025-03-26, version 5.4.0*

The game has obvious cheats with ridicules rolls for the opponent.

### 1/5 — And I thought Google Store sucked, wait & see App Store

*2024-12-21, version 5.4.0*

Games on Apple devices are mostly paid. I honestly can’t understand why anyone would pay for a basic game. If you’re going to spend money, just buy an Xbox instead—you’ll at least get a variety of games included with the price. As for the games in the App Store, they’re terrible. They’re not enjoyable, and you might even need an Advil after playing them. And yes, the ads are everywhere, just like every other developer who thinks their mediocre game is worth your time. I don’t see the appeal.

Apple seems overly commercialized—it’s all about showing off. On top of that, their devices aren’t universally compatible with anything. I could never even link my iPad to my Microsoft laptop. I gave Apple a try, but I won’t make that mistake again. I’m going back to Google, which feels like heaven compared to Apple.

### 1/5 — ☹️

*2024-12-03, version 5.4.0*

I teach statistics…this app is a joke! If it was a casino their license will be revoked for cheating…

### 1/5 — Computer always wins

*2024-11-19*

When playing with computer no one stands a chance it’s 10 doubles in a game

### 1/5 — It cheats

*2024-06-20*

It cheats. Some games it gets the perfect rolls over and over again. The mechanics are fine but it’s clear that

### 1/5 — Rolls are predictable

*2024-05-09, version 5.4.0*

In certain situations the dice roll is 100% predictable. Even though this is true, the game is still fun to play.

### 1/5 — Another rigged backgammon game

*2023-12-21, version 5.3.3*

Have never seen so many doubles to opponent getting badly beat. Will never play again.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

*2026-06-19, version 5.4.0*

Make the scores more readable n

### 5/5 — Miss

*2026-06-10, version 5.4.0*

Love the game, the dice is a little unfair and spoils it ... not sure why I cannot play with other people at the moment only with computer

### 5/5 — The best on line backgammon

*2023-07-21, version 5.3.1*

A well designed virtual game. There is no in app purchases unlike other online backgammon games. Excellent players and can usually easily find other players but the computer is challenging to play against too. Well supported app. I have been playing it for 11 years and minimal technical issues

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2023-06-15*

This is by far the best backgammon game I’ve played on a device. I’ve been playing it for years!

### 5/5 — Excellent Game Play

*2023-05-27*

Use single tap for easy fast play. Honest skill competition between actual players, and practice against the computer while you wait for a live opponent. Easy and logical control layout.

### 5/5 — Dice

*2022-09-08, version 5.2.1*

Snake eyes! Okay

### 5/5 — Not bad

*2022-05-13, version 5.2.1*

Great app better than most. Has improved recently but still manages to throw lucky dice more often than not in expert mode. Still enjoy playing it though.

### 5/5 — Best internet backgammon

*2022-05-09*

I have loved this game for years - partially because i dont need internet to use it - & best backgammon game around

**Developer response:** Your score has no impact on network disconnects. These can happen for many reasons, but most of the time they are caused by unstable network connections, such as cellular data connections or weak WiFi signals. These can be on your side or your opponent's side.

### 5/5 — Decent game

*2022-04-29, version 5.2.1*

The best backgammon game I’ve played but still far from perfect. The die are very predictable and no way are they random but it’s acceptable
