## What is FacePrivacy?

Ask facial-recognition search engines to remove you. Your face is a search term.

With a single photo of you, anyone can run a reverse face search and find public pages your face appears on. PimEyes, FaceCheck.ID, Clearview AI, Lenso.ai and other engines have built searchable indexes of faces from publicly available photos.

FacePrivacy files the opt-out and removal requests for you, and keeps filing them.

WHAT WE DO
We file opt-out and removal requests on your behalf with the facial-recognition databases we support. One subscription covers the forms, identity verifications and follow-ups, on a monthly schedule.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO
We do not remove your face from Google, general web search, social networks or cached copies of pages. We do not delete photos from the sites that host them. We cannot guarantee that any engine will honour a request. We work only with facial-recognition databases that offer an opt-out or removal process.

WHAT YOU GET

- Cancel anytime in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Journalists, abuse survivors, public figures, healthcare workers, teachers, anyone who has been doxxed, and anyone who would rather not be findable by face. Data-broker removal services focus on your name, address and phone number; FacePrivacy focuses on face-search engines.

HONEST EXPECTATIONS
Removals take time. Some engines respond within days; others take weeks and require an anonymized ID first. Some do not respond, and some re-index a face after a later crawl, which is why we re-file every month. We will never promise that your face is gone from the internet. What we promise is to keep asking, on your behalf, month after month.

With all of the tech that’s been collecting faces. This app has been extremely helpful and helping me remove my face from unnecessary data storage across numerous applications. It’s very simple and easy to use. I’m gonna continue playing around with this over the year but so far it’s been a really great application to help assist with your own privacy.

We rewrote our App Store description so that every sentence describes exactly what we do: file opt-out and removal requests with facial-recognition engines on your behalf, and re-file them every month. We removed a line about a free trial that does not exist, and a line about regulator escalation that overstated what we do. No functional changes in this release.

We removed the app tracking permission prompt. FacePrivacy does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, so the prompt asked for something we never used.

Deleting your account is clearer. The confirmation now spells out exactly what is erased — including earlier versions of photos you replaced — and tells you when a subscription has to be cancelled with Apple, because we cannot cancel an App Store subscription for you.

We also refreshed the list of face-search engines we file against, and tidied up copy throughout the app.
